*** UPDATED REVIEW 01/20/12*** A word of advice, apparently, there is a difference in build quality among the models of this case in addition to merely color. I wrote my original five-star review based upon two Black/Gunmetal CUSH cases that I purchased. I have since purchased another Kindle Fire and bought a Gunmetal /Limeaid color CUSH case. Thought I was ordering the same exact product, just different color. I just opened it and discovered that the Limeaid version is a bit flimsier than the Black version. The Limeaid material is softer and more pliable whereas the Black is stiffer and feels as if it would offer better protection. I now wish I would have just simply purchased another Black model but I won't waste time exchanging the Limeaid case for a black. If I need to travel, I'll just use one of the black cases. My review for the Black version stands at five stars but if I were allowed to write a separate review for the Limeaid case, I'd give it four stars based upon the reduced stiffness. If you want better protection, go with the Black version. The Limeaid offers the same velvety soft interior, velcro clasp and it's still a solidly built product. It's just a little softer and more bendable. Maybe some folks might prefer that.

I just wanted a simple sleeve to protect the Kindle Fire when not in use and during transit. This sleeve fits the bill. The body is sturdy but flexible. It won't necessarily offer too much protection in the event of a drop of over 4 feet onto a really hard surface like concrete (although, it very well might save your device if it doesn't fall awkwardly), but it will definitely protect from most bumps, tosses and smaller drops. The interior is lined with a very soft velour type material that will protect the Kindle from scratches on both sides. The Kindle fits snugly enough to provide the confidence that it won't slip out but isn't too tight. The Kindle inserts and removes quite easily. There is a velcro enclosure to further secure the Kindle inside. Perfect fit.

I already have a Timbuk2 envelope sleeve for my Kindle keyboard ereader, so I felt this was an easy choice. If you are not familiar with Timbuk2 products, their durability is absolutely outstanding, and this product is no exception. One reviewer mentioned that the grey colored sleeve is not as stiff as the black, and although I admit I don't have the black one in front of me, the grey is quite stiff, surprisingly so. The memory foam is probably 1/4", but very dense, you have to press hard to even know it's foam, so it will do a great job absorbing the everyday shocks. The lining actually feels like fur, it's very different and much nicer than the polyester fabric lining in my envelope sleeve. You will want to keep the Kindle Fire screen clean, so that the inside stays clean and doesn't transfer oils back to the screen, but this should be common sense. The fit was very tight at first, but seems to have loosened up just a little with some use. It's a perfect fit now and the velcro at the opening is small and unobtrusive yet secure. If you're shopping for a sleeve or some other cover for your Kindle Fire, you need to balance the functionality and appearance of what you're looking for. Personally, I think the neoprene sleeves are okay for scratch protection, but not for bumps or other shocks, I wouldn't trust them for that. This is a highly functional, protective and durable sleeve, with a neat, clean, trim, yet functional appearance. It fits easily into a variety of other bags (messenger, medium sized purse, backpack) and is not in the least bulky, despite the sturdy construction. I have not tested this out, but I suspect it may be water repellent (many of Timbuk2's fabrics are), and certainly could be treated with some Scotchguard if you planned to take it where it might get dirty. All in all, I'd highly recommend this product.

I had to return a leather cover for quality issues and decided to purchase this sleeve and I am so happy I did. The quality is superb, the fit is perfect, and I love the gunmetal with lime stitching, very attractive. It has such a soft memory foam filling and it fits the Kindle Fire like a glove. Excellent is all areas, I could not be any happier!

I just got my sleeve for my kindle fire today, and I love it! The exterior is nice looking and seems capable of handling a little battering while the interior is super soft and lint free. The only con I can think of is: why a Velcro closure? The teeth on the "male" side of the Velcro worry me a bit.
I have also ordered a skin for my fire and am now a little worried about it getting scratched up by the Velcro. I did see that it had a Velcro closure before purchasing this one, and can't say I regret it-as I said, it's the only con and is a minor one at that. I love being able to charge my kindle in this case also...tho it does get pretty hot when charging, so I'm not sure how great an idea it is to have it in the sleeve during a charge.

This case is attractive, well made, lint free, a perfect fit for the fire (a very snug fit actually) and I'm very pleased with this purchase. Will recommend to anyone in need of a great sleeve to port their fire around in!

Purchased this to protect an original Nexus 7 tablet (2012 model). The fit is great (slightly loose, though almost perfect) and the sleeve is built to last -- my tablet looks as good today as when I purchase it two years ago.

I do have to take some points off for aesthetics. This case looks like an oven mitt. It's great if you're just looking to protect your tablet when throwing it into a larger bag, but if you're looking for a standalone sleeve and are concerned about style, you may want to look elsewhere.

Description

At least your Kindle can get through airport security without causing an international incident. The tough, high-density memory foam construction and faux fur lining keeps it out of trouble while you're busy fighting over that 4 oz. bottle of shampoo with the security agent.

So I have been looking for a good sleeve (not too pricey but not too cheap ) and bought this one after seeing some a few good reviews for it and am happy i did, the Kindle fire fits snug inside the sleeve and doesnt feel cheap (material wise) and seems it could handle a accidental drop with Kindle in it with no worries.

very happy with this sleeve and now im not worried about scratching it or anything while i take it with me out and about .

purchased the one with the lime green stictching and thought maybe it would stand out too much but it blends in with the grey and black .

I am a Timbuk2 fangirl, so I was pretty psyched to see that I could get a Timbuk2 case for my brand-spanking-new kindle fire. While I had wished that the CUSH sleeve would have had more color options, the lime green on gunmetal was still stylish enough to catch my eye (fun without being flashy). It is a very low profile sleeve - not bulky at all, but it is still extremely cushy and protective (the foam is definitely there, but not poofy) and the inside is certainly very plush. (See photo of item). Even with the kindle fire inside, it maintains it's low profile. When the kindle fire is put in the sleeve, it slides down far enough there is a small gap between it and the velcro fasteners, so that it can fasten with no straining or gapping.

Given the quality of the other bags and products I have from Timbuk2, I have no doubt this sleeve will last longer than the kindle might. Timbuk2 products can take a beating and hardly show any wear and won't fall apart even with aggressive use. Buy with confidence! You'll never need another sleeve again.

Timbuk2 has produced an outstanding product with the CUSH Sleeve for the Fire. It fits perfectly, snug but easy to remove the Fire. The interior lining is soft and plush with a small piece of velcro at the opening for closure. The exterior Memory Foam is the best protection I have seen in any case or sleeve (and I have bought many over the years). The unique diamond pattern provides outstanding protection for the Fire when packed in a bag, briefcase or purse. I believe the design and construction is sturdy enough to provide protection if the Fire should suffer a small drop to the floor.

The sleeve is slim and very lightweight -- perfect for the Fire. Highly recommended!

This sleeve is exactly what I was looking for, thick enough for adequate protection and can still slip into my bag easily. The inside has soft plush fibers and my fire fits perfectly, nice and snug. I do wish the velcro was a longer strip or maybe two of the same size strips on the sides rather than just the one smaller one in the middle it has now. I haven't had any problems with it though, and I can easily slide the clip on my stylus pen in on either side of the velcro so that's a plus.

I got this on an Amazon sale. I have an older K2 and the Octovo sleeve was looking pretty worn. This sleeve is a nice snug fit. My Paperwhite has taken the place of my Kindle 2 on a daily basis, but I use the old K2 frequently when I want to utilize text-to-speech. I have over 600 books on it and when I have guests it gives them a good choice of reading material. These Timbuk2 sleeves offer good protection and look great!
