We got our adult (Staffy/Pitbull/mix?) dog from a shelter and he came with some health issues. He had dry, flaky greasy skin, a dull coat, very soft, sometimes diarrhea, stool, a strong body odor, hot spots and severe itching during the summer into fall months. He also had warts and bare skin on his elbows. After almost 4 years of experimenting with different good quality kibble and various supplements , most of those issues are resolved or greatly reduced. He is now on Merrick kibble (beef), Hyperbiotics probiotic, Dasuquin and SeaMeal. I tried him on a Missing Link supplement but think the SeaMeal is better. With SeaMeal, his body order is not strong at all and he seems to shed less fur. Now, his coat is good, his stool is normal with a predictable schedule and even his body warts have either disappeared or been reduced in size. The seasonal itching is still present but much better, especially if we catch it early.
If your dog has some health issues, be patient trying new things. Only change one thing at a time and introduce it slowly. Try it for at least a month.
I started using this with my very old dog when she developed a growth on her eye. I'd taken her to the vet, and it was not a scratch on the cornea. They speculated that it was some type of cancerous growth, but we did not know without doing a biopsy, and I did not want to put her through that at her age. This was a cloudy growth inside the eye that started over the iris and was spreading onto the pupil. It had been growing for about six weeks. About four weeks after starting the Solid Gold Seameal I noticed that the growth was substantially smaller. Two weeks after that (six weeks after beginning the supplement), the growth was gone altogether.
It is possible that it is something that would have gone away on it's own, but it was growing until I gave her this, and it cleared up with the seameal. The seameal was the only change I made. Additionally, both of her eyes became very bright and clear (not cloudy as they had been with old age), so I am very sold on the seameal supplement. I did eventually lose my dog two years later at 14, but I continue giving this to all of my dogs, young or old.
Each of my dogs has a little bowl for their supplement. Twice a day, I pour in a little olive oil or yogurt or some such and then sprinkle this on top, and they lap it up!
If you have a dog or cat you should be using this product! It is amazing for their health including their coat, teeth, body odor, etc. etc. etc. My son has a Maine Coon cat with long hair. We have always had to take him in to be shaved because his fur would mat so badly even with brushing. We started adding Seameal to his food and to our amazement the new fur growing out is so silky soft and mat free, PLUS all the mats are growing out and falling off!!! Our dogs have been healthier, more energetic and less hungry. We have a collie and a standard poodle and it reduces our poodles eye drainage and does amazing things for our collies coat!
Get this to keep your puppy healthy and to help them if they are sick! The enzymes help them digest their food easier and the extra nutrients are great especially if you don't always feed the best food! My puppy is 12 years old and we have been giving him Sea Meal solid hold since he was 5!
This stuff is AMAZING!! One of my dogs has severe IBD and it's very hard for me to find things she can ingest. Everything in this product is safe for her and I've been using it for almost a year, twice daily, and she's had no issues whatsoever. Her coat is super thick and soft and she chows down with enthusiasm (she's not a picky eater to begin with, though, she likes pretty much everything). Good ingredients, and NO BREWER'S YEAST!! A++

Utilizing seaweed, earth’s original Superfood, Solid Gold SeaMeal combines red, green and brown seaweed species to deliver transformational health benefits for dogs. Sourced from the coast of the United States, this carefully selected blend of seaweeds provides an excellent source of iodine and chlorophyll to provide important essential vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants for skin and coat health. I feed my dogs a raw diet, so I'm always looking for a good supplement to ensure they are getting all of their trace minerals. This supplement is nice because it has the trace minerals, but it also has a digestive enzyme. And it's fairly natural. It is also worth noting that it passed the test of the oh-so-picky senior dog who gobbled his food right up with this sprinkled on top!
The scoop is very small (I'd say a tsp?), and for a 75 lb dog you only have to do one scoop. Unlike other supplements where you have to do upwards of 2 and 3 tbsp a day, that can get expensive if you have large dogs! This should last my two dogs a few months, at which point I'll definitely be re-ordering!
My dog has TERRIBLE seasonal allergies. She always, always, always chews her feet off in the fall and spring. This stuff works great. It takes about two weeks to really get into their system (so you'll want to start a few weeks before allergy season hits) but once it's there it's a huge relief for them. Her hair starts growing back almost immediately, the redness reduces and in the end she stops chewing on her feet and legs. Whenever we run out, if we go without ordering and its close to the fall or spring we can tell just by the way she acts that it's time to reorder. This stuff is so much cheaper online too. If you buy it at Petsmart or other dog stores, you are definitely going to pay double. If your dog is on prescribed allergy medicine, stop using and switch to this. Give it a try for a month and I promise you'll never renew the perscription again. I have heard it's also good for hips, and joints too. My dog is 7 going on 8 this spring and I'm hoping that with continued use she won't feel her age for a long, long time. DEFINITELY A BUY!!
My dog, a lazy overweight Blue Heeler, likes this on her home cooked food. The cat, not so lazy, would not eat her food at all with Solid Gold seameal on it. I had tried all kinds of weight reducing dog foods, including Science Diet metabolic formula. She gained a pound, all other dogs at my vet's having lost weight on it. Desperate, I started cooking for her. She now gets exited about mealtime and had lost a few pounds in the five months I have been cooking for her. Since adding the Solid Gold to her food, her energy is up and she has lost several more pounds. My daughter-in-law had been using the Solid Gold for sometime for their dogs and cats and recommended it to me. I will be ordering this product regularly for my beautiful, smart, lazy dog OpalAnn.
My finicky little dog wasn't eating well. She had no energy and her coat was dull. I started making homemade food for her, which she was eating well. I then started adding this supplement and her coat is now very smooth and glossy. She has tons of energy now. She apparently also likes the taste, as she licks every single little fleck out of the bowl. I'll keep feeding her this supplement.
I have 2 kitties & I do believe this supplement will last forever! You get quite a bang for your buck! My kitties also eat it right up, I don't even need to add water. I also give my kitties Lysine powder and also a probiotic. This has been a good addition to their diet. My kitten, who is prone to upper respiratory infections under stress did not get one after her most recent vaccination. I do believe this supplement has helped! Both of my kitties also eat Solid Gold food.
