I'm still using it sparingly while my dog gets used to it but, the ingredients etc are exactly what I want for my Springer Spaniel. Never give your dog a new food without giving your beloved pet an opportunity to get used to it first. I first mix 4 parts current food to one part new food, then 4-2, then 4-3, then all new. I up the "dosage" every 3-4 days until my pet is on the new food full time. This protects their delicate stomach. My son give this to his two English Springer Spaniels and their coats are shiny and healthy! One of the two has a delicate stomach and she is able to tolerate this very well. A quality product that you pay a little extra for. Is your dog worth it? Mine is!!!
I’ve done a lot of research on dog foods and finding a kibble that is relatively affordable but also high-quality is nearly impossible! This food is definitely my newest favorite, and both of my dogs love it!
We originally switched over because it’s also nearly impossible to find a large breed puppy kibble that isnt awful, and I wanted both of my dogs on the same brand. We switched over from ‘taste of the wild’, I would say that this is one step above it. I love that you can actually see the sheen of fish oil on the kibble when you feed it.
One of the main reasons I was convinced to switch over is the amount of kibble my dogs need to eat daily. On ‘taste of the wild’ my puppy needed 4 1/2 cups of kibble, but when switching to ‘Solid Gold’ she only needed 2 1/2. That’s a HUGE difference in the amount of nutrition they are getting per bite! The price kind of evens out in the end when you consider that.
I have an almost 9-year-old Border Collie, and an eight month old German Shepherd puppy who both enjoy this kibble.
My 4-years old American bulldog has a lymphoma. I chose holistic approach for her healing, and placed her on a strict no grains-no byproducts diet and a regimen of very smelly powdered Chinese herbs, that is very hard to hide from her. i've tried to hide the herbs on a bottom of her bowl, covered by her favorite sweet potato and liver - to no avail! I read reviews for this food carefully, being very cautious with ingredients - it seems like very good product for our beloved pets. I've mixed the food with the herbs, lightly sprinkled it with a chicken stock (it is an option that was recommended by manufacturer - to saturate it with water or other liquid) - it did not get soggy fast, as other brands, and my doggy gobbled it right away. It was 4hrs ago - no side effects, no rejection - perfect! Oh, yes, - it was delivered in 2 days, although I chose standard shipping! Highly recommend!!!
Vet recommended a limited-ingredient diet for my allergic Springer Spaniel - he stopped scratching and licking his paws after a few weeks of this food. Since dogs on limited ingredient diets can't have most treats, I also use a few kibbles of this for treats and he's satisfied.
My 14 year old Iggie loves this. She suddenly stopped eating her food and we searched for a replacement that whe would eat with her limited teeth, and was good for her This product did the trick and she is thriving. My dogs eat Solid Gold they are a good company that doesn't harm your pet they do study's on ingredients that help your pet when it comes to arthritis age and weight. I ordered this variety to have my dogs try it along with the Sun Dancer Holistic that I normally buy. My dogs ate it but were less than enthusiastic about it so I won't order again. It is good quality food and I'm sure some dogs love it I just have picky dogs.

I’ve used this brand for 15 years that a breeder recommended. It has no wheat which I needed. My dogs have shiny beautiful coats. Changed to Salmon for a change and my dogs like it.
