Rockwell Razors 6C Adjustable Double Edge Safety Razor in Gunmetal + 5 Swedish Stainless Steel Razor Blades

First up, this is my first safety razor. Why I chose it. 1st of all because experienced shavers have endorsed it as their favorite razor. It has 6 plates to choose from. One of them will be right level of aggressiveness for you. I considered the Merkur, Parker, Meuller. The handle is a nice length even for bigger hands. The handle jimping is super aggressive. Even wet hands will not slip with this razor. It is heavy, solid, well built, and looks high quality. The gunmetal finish makes it look like a more modern tool vs traditional chrome IMHO. Finally I was torn between this chrome gunmetal finish and the sturdier (+$30) 6s stainless steel model. I decided on chrome based on reviews that the 6s SS does not glide quite as easily on face.
USE - I used all plates 1 - 6 on six consecutive days. (my first time shaving with a safety razor. I shave face and bald head) ZERO CUTS!!! I have to say, the first shave was very awkward, but it has gotten easier and more interesting with each shave. I like the more aggressive plates and will stick with #5 for now. It's getting easier to use with each shave. 5 star.

I started wet shaving about 1-2 months ago. I started with the cheap Van Der Hagan, and after a month and a half I decided to commit to wet shaving. And after all of the reviews I watched. This razor was more appealing. Every review I watched was nothing but good things. And they were not wrong. Even though I am a beginner this razor gives me a smooth shave every time and is so comfortable!!!! I might upgrade to the 6S for Christmas as well!!

I have been using a double edged razor for roughly 8 years. (The switch from disposable razors has save me over a thousand dollars in that tome as I was spending about $30/month. I have spent less than $200 dollars over the last 8 years)

My go-to razor is my Edwin Jagger. It provides an aggressive shave. And is in as good of shape as the day I purchased it. The Rockwell Razors 6C Adjustable Double Edge Safety Razor in Gunmetal + 5 Swedish Stainless Steel Razor Blades was on sale and I bought it intrigued by the adjustable components.

The Rockwell adjustable components allows you to vary in aggressiveness of shave from 1 being least aggressive to 6 which is most aggressive. I love an aggressive shave and initially tried the razor on 3. I switched to 5 for one week then finally to 6. Setting 5 is comparable to the Edwin Jagger. Setting 6 has provided a phenomenal shave. More aggressive than the Edwin Jagger. As you can see in the photo the Rockwell is longer and wider than the Edwin Jagger. It is heavier, too. All of these qualities are to my liking.

The razor appears well made. Switching from one setting to anther is a easy. Information card is succinct in description.

If you looking for a new razor or are new to double edged razors, the Rockwell is a great purchase. It allows you the flexibility to try various levels of aggressiveness for a great price.

Other reviews have covered many of the great features of this razor. I decided to try this because I have very sensitive skin. While some may like an aggressive shave, I prefer a gentler shave. The adjustable plates allow for a surprisingly large range of shaves, and I have settled on 3 as my go to level. No cuts, and more importantly no razor burn. The gunmetal finish and shape of the shave head make for a smooth motion over the skin.

The weight may be an issue for some, as it is beefy and I was a little surprised at the weight. It is certainly heavier than other razors I have tried. However, I enjoy it as it gives a feeling of more precision and control. Your mileage may vary.

This would be an excellent first safety razor for anyone, and could very well be the last safety razor for many.

Great razor blade for the price. The 3 adjustment plates it comes with gives you a lot to experiment with. I've settled on using the #4 plate and it pairs lovely with Gillette Silver Blue and Feather blades.

The gunmetal looks great, although hard water makes it quickly turn soap scummy. Easy enough to clean afterwards though.

This is now top in my razor rotation :) Was looking for the 6s but for some reason Amazon doesn't carry it . Built well and shaves great

I have been wet shaving for about 6 years. I've used a number of different blades and this is the best one I have for the price. It look great, is not too heavy and offers nice advantages. The shave is very good and I have yet to nick myself on this particular razor. You really can't beat this razor for the price.

I have been using a cheap Van Der Hagen for the last six months. It got the job done....or so I thought. This new 6C is amazing. The material feels solid. The ability to change the aggressiveness of the razor as I need is convenient. My only complaint is that the razors they included to work as good as my Astras do.

Fantastic razor, the gunmetal finish is beautiful. Great razor for all different preferences because of the different base plates. I prefer a mild razor and R3 is perfect for me.

Love it. First time DE razor user. Did my research, glad I did. Wanted to save money on disposable blades, and put some new interest into a boring task.
