I wear a hardhat in a cement operation where temps vary from 100 degree to 150 every day, all day. Sweat bands that are made for hardhats did nothing for me. Some of the other guys with bald or short hair wear welders skull caps, that helps but not enough to make a big difference. So I saw this looking for something to wear while riding my bike, looked like it wouldn't blow off my skull while riding like others have, decided to get it since it was a prime sale. When it arrived I was working in the yard on a 100 degree day. Wow. Never knew it was a cooling cap! Did as instructions said, put it on and felt, actually felt my body temp dropping. That night took it to work and could not believe the difference. I'm getting 2 more to keep at home and for the bike. Enjoy
My family mountain bikes in eastern TN. Summers can get hot and humid. Sweat dripping into your eyes (or in my case on to my glasses) while running a downhill trail is not a good thing. This provided a good solution.
While it provides some cooling, my first concern was something I could wear under my helmet to cut down on the sweat getting in my eyes and on my glasses, thus interfering with my sight. This does a great job of soaking up the sweat, even after wetting it before hand and riding for hours. It fits snug to the head, and i only had to make a very slight adjustment to my helmet for it to slide over it. I won't ride with out it now. In addition to keeping the sweat out of my eyes, during breaks, I can pop it off, and use it to dry my face, arms, and neck. Very absorbent.
Now for the cooling. Since it depends in part on evaporation, and since I am wearing it under a helmet, it doesn't cool as much as I would like. That said, it is very understandable, so I cannot see docking any stars for that. When I stop for a break and remove the helmet, the cooling effect is almost instant. If I remove it and snap it a few times per the instructions, it cools even more.
It has proven durable to this point. I generally ride with it 5 to 6 days a week. I have begun to wear it on walks/hikes as well. Just about any activity where I know sweat will be an issue, I have this on.
I bike quite a lot and have tried dozens of helmet liners, bandanas and other whathaveyous of the sort. The summers get very hot and humid where I live, so keeping sweet from pouring down my face and into my eyes is the first thing I look for in things.
I bought two of these helmet liners and was a bit concerned before I got them because many of the reviewers said they were too small, but the size is perfect for my average sized head (I'm a 5.8 male). I am bold though, so if you have a thick head of hair it might feel a little too snug.
I rode with them several times, usually for an hour but a couple of longer rides of about 3 hours. They did an ok job as a speed dry helmet liner. They seem to spread the moisture around pretty well and allow it to evaporate, as long as your helmet allows enough wind to run through. But I don't think they actually cool my head, and if they do, it's probably not as dramatic of an effect as they claim in their marketing materials. Comparing them to another such helmet liner I have, I didn't notice any big difference in how cool (or rather, not cool at all) my head feels while I'm pounding those pedals uphill.
Because I'm a big guy, and bald, I tend to sweat a lot. I wear baseball caps when I go out, and the sweat will soak through the baseball cap and make sweat stains. This helmet liner sits above the ears, and is nice and thin. Very comfy. It's thin enough to wear under a baseball cap, which I'm very happy about; because that is the reason I bought it. It soaks up the sweat and my baseball cap doesn't look like it just pissed itself lol. Will update the review later after using it at the shooting range, where it can get very hot.
I bought it to wear under a Taekwondo sparring helmet, and it worked great for that. So well, that I now wear it when I'm not wearing a helmet as well. I have a shaved head and sweat copious amounts during a typical session. This is very effective at keeping the sweat out of my eyes and face. When wearing under the helmet it is definitely more comfortable than wearing the helmet by itself -- it's very thin and doesn't certainly doesn't retain heat. Under the helmet, though, I can't really feel the cooling effect. Now that I have worn it several times sans helmet during non-sparring training it also is excellent at keeping the sweat off my face, and I can certainly feel the cooling effect. During a one-hour training session, I would typically wipe my scalp/face/eyes with a sweat towel about 15 times. When wearing this, I can get by without wiping the sweat away much at all. When I take it off, it is heavy with moisture and I can wring it out. The label says it is machine washable, but I have just been thoroughly rinsing with clean water after each use, and weekly giving it about 1-2 minute hand wash in the bathroom sink with mostly water and a touch of soap or detergent. It smells as fresh as a daisy. It's only been about 10 uses, so I can't really comment on its longevity or how it will retain it's elasticity/shape/fit after about 10 uses. The fit is fine for me. First time on it feels snug, but it stays in place and after having it on for a few minutes, I forget it is there. I'm pretty hard on it, but so far, I won't hesitate to buy a second one or replace this. I will likely start wearing it when working in the yard or anytime I want to keep my bald-head-sweat out of my face and sunglasses.

Description
Constructed from a proprietary cooling material to custom form to the head and maximize the cooling effect to keep you cooler during competition. This new technology is activated when the material is soaked with water, wrung out, and then snapped in the air to activate the cooling properties. It works by absorbing moisture and perspiration into the fabric core where the unique radiator-like fiber construction circulates water molecules and regulates the rate of evaporation to create a prolonged cooling effect. Perfect for any helmet sport including football, hockey, cycling and lacrosse. Also great to wear under baseball caps.
I wear a size 7 cap, and the Mission Enduracool liner fits my old, bald head comfortably snug. I wear it under my cap, when I'm hiking in hot weather, and under my helmet, when riding my cross-country bike.
The liner does a better job keeping the sweat out of my eyes, than it does keeping my head cool. Taking it off and shaking the sweat out, before putting it back on does cool it down quite a bit, but it only stays cool for a few minutes.
Even though this liner doesn't stay cool for very long, I gave it four stars anyway. Just the fact that the sweat stays out of my eyes longer with the liner on than without it, it feel deserves four stars. Also, it fits comfortably under a cap or a helmet.
I’m a big sweater and I have a bald head which makes it even worse. I used to wear a headband on my 20-40mile bike rides and I would literally have to stop several times to wring it out cause it would be completely soaked. I’ve worn this on 2 40mile bike and it is amazing, it really works it magically distributes the sweat to wear in doesn’t drip in my eyes and even the it feels really wet, it’s not dripping everywhere. Amazing! I highly recommend this product and I’m definitely getting another one.
I have been using head bands and sweat caps for years. I use them biking, working out, yard work. Honestly, this is my favorite. Wish I would have bought one sooner. Fits my head perfect. Total comfort. Although there is no terry cloth band, it seems to manage my sweat better than my head bands with the absorbing cloth. And yes, it does disperse the sweat and make you feel like you have a mild cooling sensation. Especially under the fan at the gym. The moving air really makes the cooling sensation nice. Anyway, this seems to be a pretty high quality sweat cap. It is thin enough for me to wear under my helmet when biking, or just going for a walk. Maintaining it is easy. In my experience, sweat and salt can ruin elastic and some cloth, so I hand wash with a bit of laundry soap after each use. It dries quick and you are ready to go again. To sum this up, I am a believer and really enjoy this cap.
My 13 year old son really likes this cooling liner for his lacrosse helmet. It fits his (small) head perfect - though would stretch to fit bigger heads. He claims it keeps him much cooler in the Texas heat and he plays in a black helmet so that’s saying something (a lot, actually). I took off a star because he has said it is rather itchy if he puts it on wet. It doesn’t bother him if he starts out with it dry and then it gets wet - because it works with him sweating. So, if he has a practice break or a break between games, he’s not really excited about putting it back on again wet or dipping it into cold water and putting it on because it irritates him for some reason. As a bonus, this holds back his hair too and keeps it out of his eyes. In sum - a good liner. It does what it says it does. We have bought plenty of cooling neck and head wraps and other things and won’t buy another.
If you have a large head look for another model. It fits me great. I'd be considered average hat size and this is very snug. Squeeze out the sweat shake it a few time and it drops the btu on your hear immediately. Since I have less hair on my head than I was born with this beanie works great.
I wear this in direct sun light on the tennis court with and without a billed cap. I will be getting several more as the season heats up. Lastly, just a little liquid hand soap and warm water, rinse it out, towel dry and layout on a paper towel. You'll be ready for the next day. It does give up a little dye in the first few washing but nothing you would notice when dry.
