We love this refrigerator and we enjoyed receiving it by a local delivery team that was very knowledgeable and careful. Our old refrigerator was taken away, too, We will by large appliances from Amazon again in the future based on this experience alone.
Very similar inside to the 30 year old Kenmore it replaces. Considering the fact that today's appliances are designed to last 8 years, I'll be happy if we get half the amount of service as the old model.
We bought the unit for a rental house and we're pleased with its appearance. It runs quietly and keeps food at a constant temperature. If your water pressure is high, the sound of water recharging the ice maker is noticeable, but not aggravating. If you're accustomed to a top loading/freezer on the bottom refrigerator this unit might disappoint. Like all such units, it's hard to see what's in the back of the fridge. Loading and retrieving food requires stooping and bending.
The crew that Amazon sent to install the refrigerator was outstanding. They were cordial, professional and thorough. How they navigated this unit through our narrow kitchen door without a scratch is beyond me, but they did it. They didn't leave until the unit was installed and running perfectly and they cleaned up every scrap of packing material.
Curiously, Sears had this model for the same price - but they wanted over $300 for a 3 year warranty . Amazon offered a 3 year warranty for $80 - plus free delivery and haul away of the old unit.
I was blown away by this product. you really get all your money's worth. They made the delivery process so simple. Delivery people actually call you and advise you if it is ok to deliver (you receive a 3 hr window for delivery. not bad!). The delivery man actually walked the path all the way to my studio apartment measuring every doorway along the way. These men were true professionals, I cannot stress how happy I am with the delivery. After seeing the refrigerator would not fit in the doorway to my kitchen, they decided to unmount kitchen doors for a better fit. I would highly recommend refrigerator and delivery company.
Although we've only had this unit for approx. 45 days, we are pleased thus far. It is installed in our garage where the temperatures can stay rather cool (36-50deg.: we live at a high altitude area). This is the factor that dictated the purchase of an "Energy Star" refrigerator. The "ES" units apparently are more efficient at properly controlling their temperatures in low ambient temperature environments, whereas non-ES require an additional controller. This unit seems to be doing just that. It is very quiet while running.
This fridge is certainly large enough and appears attractive both inside (glass shelves) and out. As noted above, it is in the garage. I will occasionally go out late at night to retrieve item(s). The internal lighting is substantial.
I am positively impressed with this unit.
this frig has worked at 85+ degrees and now down to 10 degrees in my non-temperature controlled garage. we are very happy with this purchase! a lot bigger than we anticipated but the size is totally appreciated. one of the best deals I ever made.

Just received this today and purchased along with the Kenmore Range (229412.) Just got rid of my french door fridge after 11 years and was worried about a lot buying a new fridge and downgrading in size. Let me tell you this baby is PLENTY BIG! The photos on amazon made it look like a fridge you’d find in an office kitchen. Certainly not the case unless you have one hell of an office. I’m very impressed with the layout of the fridge. One shelf (long rectangular one) slides forward which is nice if you have something heavy on it like a crockpot. I like that the other main shelf is split in two so they can be staggered. Also there is actual glass on the bottom shelf so you can see into the drawers easily which I thought was a nice touch seeing how almost everything is plastic these days. The door storage is by far where I was truly excited. Being able to fit a full size pitcher on the shelf of the door is such a space saver! The one thing I was concerned about when buying a new fridge was any sort of water line that was going in (ice/door dispenser) as my fridge that was just hauled away had both and stopped working after just a couple of years. However it continued to leak internally and when they hauled it away today and tipped it to go down the stairs all the water poured out that had been filling it up in the door. Looks like we got a new one just in time! So as you can probably guess this is why I went for a simplier fridge. I was hesitant at first seeing some reviews about it arriving without having the shelves inside, problems with the ice maker, doors handles breaking, but so far so good. I like that they retained only the ice maker as it is very quiet I havent heard it once. If you’re looking for a basic fridge with a nice storage layout and plenty of space look no further. My ONLY con is that the produce drawers are not the depth of the fridge they are a bit on the short side. However as you can see i’m not having any issues and what you see inside is my weekly csa haul so it certainly holds the veggies! From order to delivery, installation, and haul away it was a pretty seamless process I was pleasantly surprised. The delivery guys were professional and very nice. Hope I can continue to say good things about this fridge will update with any changes.
When our 20 year old Kenmore refrigerator in the garage died, I dreaded going to Home Depot or Best Buy to buy a replacement, so I decided to try Amazon. When I saw Kenmore on Amazon, that seemed like a natural replacement. I did consult consumer reports, and was a bit that it scored very low (score is 41, with highest-rated top freezer refrigerators at 79) but the price at $599 is right, and it's just a garage refrigerator so I don't need perfection here as long as it doesn't die (famous last words). I did buy the Square Trade 4 year appliance warranty, which is cheaper than the Kenmore warranty offered during checkout.
Here are my pros and cons:
Pros:
+ Super quiet. I can barely tell its on.
+ Good lighting in the refrigerator compartment. LED lighting is bright and efficient, and should last the length of the appliance unlike conventional bulbs that burn out quickly.
+ Good temperature control Gets to the right temperature and shuts off, unlike some that just run all the time.
+ Energy efficient: Energy star rated at $57 estimated yearly energy cost, on range from $46 (most efficient) to $63 (least efficient).Estimated at 472 kwh annual energy use, a quarter of what the old refrigerator used.
+ Good ice production, quiet except when water fills
+ Wheels on bottom for easy cleaning or re-positioning
Con's
- I did some research online and found that models that start with 111, which is what's on the instruction manual, are produced by Korean company Daewoo. I have had terrible performance from Korean brands LG and Samsung, and would not have bought this if I knew it were Korean-made. I hope Daewoo is better than LG and Samsung.
As others have commented, the delivery service that Amazon uses is far superior to that of the big box store. They were early, professional, knew their stuff, and hauled away the old refrigerator. One thing they didn't know: the ice maker will not start producing ice until the interior of the freezer hits 19 degrees. I was concerned that water didn't immediately fill the auto ice maker but turns out that's by design until the freezer is cold enough.
I promise - big time - I will update this review if I run into performance or service issues. I know they don't make appliances like they used to, and for some reason we consumers have to accept that, but at least we can warn others if we run into problems.
For now, I am very happy with this refrigerator and pleased to give it a 5-star rating.
Fridge is the proper size and seems to work perfectly. The only thing I might complain about is that the door doesn't always close on it's own. The guys who installed the fridge seemed professional and on time too
For the price of this basic top shelf refrigerator you can't go wrong.
It looks good and performs very well.
The stainless Steele is on the front side of both doors only. It does leave finger prints but it will wipe off completely. The sides of are painted an enamol gray which I thinks looks ok ... delivery was superb, they were on time, very careful and setup was quick. They even haul away your old fridge!

I purchased the black Kenmore 61219 for our garage to replace the 20+ year refrigerator we had been using there. I like the fact this refrigerator is "garage ready" which means it can handle low temperatures better than those not rated as such. Most refrigerators are not designed to operate in under 50 deg temperatures. NOTE: that the smaller 18 cu ft version is not designated garage ready. Having previously only purchased large appliances from local dealers and big box stores I was a little leery purchasing online from Amazon of how delivery and installation and haul away of the old refrigerator would work. I need not have been. Delivery and haul away were quick and easy and in fact much more so than my last two appliance purchases from local big box stores. Kudos to Amazon and the delivery folks they use. As far as the refrigerator itself, it exceeded my expectations. For the price, I was expecting a very very basic model so was pleasantly surprised to find that it had glass shelves and led lighting. Of course others with higher expectations may not be as delighted, but for our needs this refrigerator fit the bill perfectly.
