POSITION PROPERLY - Awesome Works perfectly- but just a heads up for iPhone 8, 8 plus and iPhone X users if you don’t position the mount properly your phone will show charging but it will discharge slowly- to avoid this position so the apple logo is visible above the mount from the back, adjust the legs or the base accordingly so you don’t have to do it more than once. After that it’s all good. Just place iPhone in and all’s well.
When I got my iPhone 8, I wanted a better solution for charging and using it in my car than I had at the time. Using a Lightening cable with my vent mount meant plugging and unplugging the iPhone every time I got in or out and blocking my vents. So when I saw the iOttie mount, I got one immediately. The iOttie works exactly as described. The suction cup adheres very well to a nice flat surface in my Prius v, putting the iPhone close enough to be able to see but not distract me from my driving and not blocking any vents. I use the iPhone to stream music to the BT setup in the car and for GPS navigation as well. Even though right now the iPhone only supports standard charging rates, the iOttie has sufficient charging capability to keep up with the demand from that streaming/BT/GPS navigation burden. It also should support rapid charging once Apple implements it for the iPhone. I use an Otterbox Symmetry clear case for the phone, and the charging works fine through it. When I get into the car I push the phone into the iOttie, the arms clamp the phone and I'm off. When I get out, I release the iPhone from the iOttie and I'm on my way. Brilliant design and well made so I expect it to work for a long time.
I have 4000 highway miles on this wireless iPhone charger/holder and I think the biggest issue to address is how it works with Waze. My first trip was from Hartford to Pittsburgh and my iPhone 8 was fully charged when I left and still fully charged when I got to Pittsburgh, with Waze on the entire trip. That is fabulous news as that was the number one doubt I had about the charger. Since this iOttie can hold an iPhone charge while continuously running Waze, and all my other apps, then it was worth every penny.
Two days later I went from Pittsburgh to Nashville, and before I left I had purposely let my iPhone run down to 20% battery life. For this 10 hour excursion, again with Waze never off, my battery life never dropped below 20% but also never climbed above 25%. I was not surprised, as Waze is such a battery-suck, but I was hoping that it would slowly recharge all the way to 100%. Just knowing my iPhone battery will not die using this charger is comfort enough for a long trip. My last experiment was to start my trip with 88% battery life, and in this case, the iOttie wireless charger fully charged my phone to 100% and never dipped below that mark.
I really like this holder because I no longer have to plug in lightening cords that droop into my steering column, nor do I worry about the constant in and out of the lightning connector which wore out my last iPhone. This new iOttie has a swiveling base holder that I think does a better job of securing my phone and it is so easy to just grab and go with my phone, rather than placing it squarely in the middle and checking that it is secure.
Knowing this phone can handle Waze no matter how low my battery charge is reason enough to buy this really great wireless holder/charger.iOttie Easy One Touch Qi Wireless Fast Charge Car Mount for Samsung Galaxy S9 S9 Plus S8 S7/S7 Edge Note 8 5 & Standard Charge for iPhone X 8/8 Plus & Qi Enabled Devices Includes Dual Car Charger
Worth every penny. I have iOttie holders in both my cars. I was searching for a wireless charging solution for my iPhone X and came across this. Since I already love the one I have, which is similar to this without the charging capability, I jumped on this. I just swapped out the heads and plugged it in. Charges fast as it supports fast charging. Very happy.
I've owned this wireless car mount charger for 3 weeks now, and typically I like to own and test a product longer before leaving a review.
But I am pleasantly surprised by it's build quality and performance. I have this mounted in my 2015 Ford Explorer and the suction to the dash is super-glue tight. The mount is very sturdy, no wiggling or movement when driving. I use it for both my Samsung s8 and wife's Note 8. Both instantly establish legit fast wireless charging. Now if you talk on the phone or use Google maps the battery will just maintain its current charge percentage. But if the phone is not in use or just streaming music you'll notice the battery percentage increasing like your typical wireless fast charger. Both the s8 and Note 8 sit nicely in the mount and require no adjustment when connecting or removing our phones.
The real test will be how it holds up over time. But for $50 its a good purchase, I recommend.

I purchased this specifically for my new iPhone X. I have used previous iOttie mounts to hold my iPhone at the desk and with Qi charging on the X, it made sense to purchase this mount. First thing is the improved release setup but a bit of a ding at the same time. It takes dexterity to push the levers while raising the iPhone up out of the mount, otherwise, the holding clamps simply reclamp the phone. The Qi charger is EXCELLENT! The range on it is superior to 3 coil flat charger base I purchased. While I am using a Spidgen Liquid Crystal gel case on the X, I have tested the range by holding it above the mount and I find that the charger and the phone detect at about 1/2" distance. The mount itself is typical iOttie design excellence. Loads of joints to adjust and the gel/suction mount is simple the best if you want a mount that WON'T loosen. My experience with earlier iOttie mounts proved that if they gather up lint or dust, a gentle wash with dish washing soap is all that is need to return them to original stickiness. Highly recommend
Attached to the dash of my 06 sts. The bottom of the mount is sticky and strong so be careful where you place it as it will not come off easily. The dash mount came off due to hot surface in car from being parked outside. The glue holding the dash mount plastic was still attached to the dash so I placed the mount on the glue and it has been holding great so far even in hot weather. The only downside and can be a deal breaker for some is the wireless charger gets hot and if not placed directly in the path of air flow. It will charge the phone extremely slow to no charge at all. I have mine placed in front of a vent that is always blowing air into the device at all times when the car is on. Charging works great for me about 2 minutes per 1%. I bought a second unit for an SUV that did not have a vent blowing into it and will not charge the phone when it gets hot. Using the mount with both an s9 and note 9. Must adjust the position of the phones for best results.
I recently switched phones to the Galaxy Note 8 and chose the Otterbox Defender case for protection. Both are great products, but the case makes inserting a charging cable a true mission due to the thick flap that covers the charging port. This was only a problem in the car because I have wireless chargers everywhere else. The iOttie Easy One Touch Qi Wireless Fast Charging Dock has solved this problem. Installation was a breeze. The suction cup is very sticky and should hold well on any smooth surface (I already had a mounting disc on my dash from a previous dock which works perfectly). The phone is securely mounted when docked and charges quickly through what I would consider to be a thick phone case. I did find it necessary to remove the chin adjuster from the dock to get the coils aligned due to the size of this phone/case combo, but this piece is not needed to function properly. This may bother some people, but I don't see it as a defect and it doesn't make the phone any less secure when docked. I was able to get my phone positioned exactly where I wanted thanks to all of the adjustments this dock offers. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase.
Works well with iPhone X and charges the battery even when using the GPS and streaming via Bluetooth. As others have noted, proper adjustment is key so that the coil on the mount line up with the coil on the phone. The coil on the mount is centered around the little squarish button that triggers the clamping, and as best I can tell the coil on the iPhone X is dead center on the back of the phone. Just adjust the foot so that the center of the phone is aligned with the button on the mount but make sure you make the adjustment with your case on since some cases have a fairly thick edge that could make a difference.
Also, use the charger that iOttie provides since it produces more power than a 3rd party charger. I compared the power output of the iOttie charger with a Scosche charger (that's supposedly capable of producing 2.4A/12W), and the mount drew ~6.3W with the iOttie charger vs ~5W on the Scosche.
I really like how adjustable the mount is; I was easily able to get a perfect position when mounting to the windshield and after a couple of weeks of use it shows no sign of loosening.
Day-to-day use is very convenient, just plop it in and it clamps down and immediately starts charging. Releasing the clamps quickly became second nature as well, and doesn't take any more time than with my previous mount when I had to unplug the Lightning cable before removing.
I do notice that the phone tends to get fairly warm after being in the mount for a while, but my understanding is this is inherent with all Qi chargers and is not specific to iOttie.
I purchased this to accompany my brand spankin' new iPhone X. It installed easily. The suction holds the mirror fine. The adjustments are adequate.
The convenience is FANTASTIC. OMG I love not having to plug the lightning in-and-out when I dock and undock my phone. It is soooooo great to drop it into the cradle and have it charge automatically. So so so so so so so great. I am never ever ever going back.
I even went to a car stereo store to have them install a Micro-USB cable for this charger directly into the car's electrical without having to drape an ugly and inconvenient cable all the way across the cockpit. (The car is a 2014 porsche 911 991.1.)
My iPhone X is in an otterbox symmetry. It seems to charge ok through the case.
I believe some other reviewers complained that the arms are so tight they can bend the phone case. I don't see that at all. When you press the phone into the holder, the phone it's a release butten and the arms come in. But the pressure seems reasonable. I don't worry about my X getting impacted too hard by the arms.
The wireless charger seems adequate. My phone at least holds it's charge and maybe even gains charge even when the screen is on, such as for Spotify or GPS. I haven't really done a quantitative test and will try to do so.
My only constructive criticism is that the *release* requires simultaneously squeezing both the left and right release levers, which means it's a complex grab. I usually slide my hand behind the cradle, *and* it's hard to grab the phone as it drops out while squeezing. It's really a 2-hand process to release the phone, but I just use 1 hand. The one thing that really would make this dock better is a true 1-hand release process that doesn't require juggling or finger gymnastics.
Very happy with the purchase
