This is very similar to a case that I had for my 1st gen Fire. I felt that case, while not particularly attractive, was very functional and offered the necessary protection. This case for the Fire HD 6 does not disappoint.
Those with the HD 6 were probably quick to notice that the casing on the Fire itself was one of the things that suffered with the $100 price point. In a few words, it's cheap plastic. I'm not going to try it, but I don't believe it would survive a drop without some protection. I wanted to get something wrapped around it ASAP.
The great thing about the HD 6 is it is a Fire that you can put in your pocket. It would defeat the purpose if the chosen case made it so bulky that you wouldn't be able to do that. Using the case makes the dimensions 7.75" X 4.75" X 0.75" as compared to the Fire's 6.7" X 4.1" X 0.4". That's not too bad at all. There isn't any padding in the material other than what the faux leather and interior felt material provide. It does, however, keep the corners tucked in nicely in the event of a drop.
The stand aspect is fairly limited in the angle you can choose. There are rubberized grips on the side of the flaps that grab the surface. Anything past a 75° angle and the Fire will not not able to stand. There are better cases for standing out there, but they also add bulk.
I chose the black, and because it is thin I think it is an attractive choice. It is an entry level case, so the quality of the materials are lacking. The build quality, however, is well done. Perfect stitching and a form fit. I'm happy with the purchase.
For a $20 case, this is not bad at all. The case straps in the tablet with an elastic holder and sits in very well. I wanted something cheap (since the device was so cheap) so I went with this purchase. The case folds out to a tent style-ish stand. It can't go super low but it gives me a decent angle when I am watching a movie at home and even on the plane.
By the way, being the clumsy me, I actually dropped the case with the tablet inside when I got out of the car. I freaked out a little since I just bought the tablet, but after picking it up to check it out, not a scratch! Turned on the device and still works! So far, I am pretty satisfied with this cause it saved my brand new tablet from a fall, which I know it will happen again in the future!
My first Kindle case fell apart after 2 or 3 years so I found this when looking for a replacement. At first I didn't like it as much as the first one I had but now I like it just fine. It stands up pretty well as shown in the picture. It's sturdy and I like the color. I have 2 complaints, it doesn't turn the screen on/off like my old case did when it's opened or closed. My old case also had a magnetic closure so it stayed shut I do miss those features. I've had this case for several months now, so far so good.
The pink is alot darker than what appears on the screen, which was disappointing when I first opened it. I wanted a light pink and this one is closer to a hot pink or magenta. The picture also makes the purple look like a lavender, which is probably not the case, no pun intended :)
However, the case seems really sturdy. The camera fits within the hole and the black band is very useful in keeping it closed.
I like this cover a nice pretty pink that matches the pink fire I have. It fits snugly into the cover leaving open the power, charge, ear phone and vent . Inside feels like a felt, color is gray. It needs to be used several times for the stand to work otherwise it will be too stiff to stay bent. I was able to do that after a couple days of bending cover back while reading and playing games. After that the stand worked on a flat surface. It comes with nice stitching and an elastic band to hold shut the cover while not in use. You can't beat the price it was an excellent find. I am lightweight rough on my covers and will have to replace in about six months, if you have long nails you will ding up the cover taking off the band or at least I do however I will reiterate I do this with even my phone cases although I feel more secure with a cover over the device. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I am mine.

I have yet to find the perfect case for my Kindle HD 6 but this is working out okay so far. I have the turquoise and like the lighter cover to find it easily in my bag. My ideal case would stay propped up better, this does tend to collapse down when not perfectly propped up on a solid surface. This has rubber grips on the edge to prevent it from slipping when propped up. It is a sturdy case and does not feel like it is made from cheap cardboard. I had returned one case that had a slot/tab for standing that seemed would not hold up well. The case I have for my Kindle 7 is by Belkin and works great but not available anymore.
I recently purchased a kindle fire over the holidays and needed some accessories to go with it. I wanted something that would not add too much bulk but still provided protection in case of a fall-This fit the bill! I love the lavender color, it's so pretty! The standing feature is also a nice touch.
This cover for the kindle is great. I love the color of this. It is a nice vibrant turquoise color. The fit of the cover is good. I had no problem getting the kindle into it and the kindle fit nice and snug. There is very little wiggle room in this and no chance of your kindle falling out of it. The band to close the cover is sturdy and not weak at all. I had a different one on another kindle and the strap broke due to poor craftsmanship but this one is really good.
Love this Fire HD 6" case. Only had choice of purple or pink for my Kindle and I choose the purple. Think I will go back and see if I can get the pink one too. Very sturdy but have noticed some finger stains and wonder if I can get it clean. Everything fits , the camera, the on/off button and the charging slot. Great little purchase.
A good case that is easy to slip on the Fire HD 6. One small problem though. The opening in the case for the rear camera's lens is not positioned correctly so that its edge interferes and/or casts a shadow on the field. The opening should be enlarged and located a smidge closer to the backbone of the case. My husband was able to enlarge the opening with a small chisel, and a sharp exacto knife (and a lot of luck and patience).
