DMC U1539 Embroidery Transfer Pen, Blue

I had been searching for a washable medium to use for putting patterns on fabric for embroidery. Most of what I encountered was transfer paper that left marks that did not wash off, and so I had to be extremely careful when using it to apply a pattern. This pen is a life saver! The blue ink is faint, so it can be a little bit of a challenge on darker fabrics (but I don't think it was really designed for that purpose), but it's marvelous on everything else. And if I screw up when tracing the pattern, the ink comes right up with a damp cloth. The pen works beautifully and I can achieve think and thick lines with it. I highly recommend this if you like to "go off book" with your embroidery work.

I use this pen along with transfer paper to transfer embroidery designs to Aida cloth. The transfer paper I purchased kept bleeding color into my Aida and/or rubbing off before I could stitch, so I discovered it was best to combine those methods - first I transfer the design using the paper, and then I trace over with the pen. This provides me with a very easy to see design that doesn't rub off. When finished stitching, this ink wipes away with water really easily and doesn't stain light stitching! I was skeptical at first, but it really does come off easily!

Works amazing! It also comes out of fabric so easily, I barely had turned on the water before the blue just disappeared. Very bright, doesn't bleed however it doesn't last a very long time. I was doing some snowflake embroidery on the hem of an infants dress and by the end of the project the pen was done for.

A great fabric transfer pen! Works exactly as intended. Washes out with cold water using minimal effort. I made some changes during my last project and just dabbed it with a damp, cold rag and the spot came off with ease. The marker takes some getting used to when running across the fabric bc the tip is pretty dry, it's hard to get those details on sometimes but I'm sure it gets easier with pracrice. The price and function of this pen is right, definitely worth the buy.

I have many transfer pens, pencils, etc and this is my favorite. My only wish is that they had a fine version. It comes out blue on fabric, but when water touches it, it vanishes. Very cool.

I last bought a Singer fabric pen, and it was nearly dried out after only two uses (yes, the cap was on securely). This pen is much easier to see on fabric (the last pen was pink, but the blue is much clearer), and it seems like it will last much longer than my last pen. Washes out of the fabric easily. Highly recommend.

This thing works wonders! Make sure that when you run over your fabric with cold water to wash off the marker that you scrub it a little bit. I found that this works much better than just running the fabric over the water and not scrubbing it gently.

I love this pen, I have found it works great for tracing images to embroider but also I like just drawing free hand with it and then doing my embroidery on what I drew. I will be buying this again.

As an artist I am constantly "doodling" and many of these are done on scraps of paper. I need to transfer my drawings onto wateer color paper, canvas and other papers depending on the medium I choose. I wasn't aware of these transfer pencils but this little gem made my life a bit easier.

Works as advertised, and completely disappears when wet thoroughly or washed. I am pleased!
