Amazon Kindle Zip Sleeve, Lime (fits Kindle Paperwhite, Kindle, and Kindle Touch)

Amazon Kindle Zip Sleeve, Lime (fits Kindle Paperwhite, Kindle, and Kindle Touch)

I've had the Amazon Kindle Zip Sleeve in Lime since December 2012 and I love it. It has stayed clean and new-looking, it protects my Kindle, and I like the color and the leather strip. It's easy to get my kindle in and out of the sleeve, and I have been very happy with it.

This all changed today when the security team at the Oakland Coliseum confiscated my Amazon Kindle Zip Sleeve in Lime before the Oakland Raider's tragic loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. You see, it was almost one-half inch too large in dimension, and so they made me throw it in the garbage. (Luckily, the Kindle Paperwhite itself fit their dimensions and wasn't thrown away also.) At first I was so angry! How on earth could my Amazon Kindle Zip Sleeve in Lime cause any kind of harm? It was empty and had so had no drugs or guns stuffed inside. But then, as I thought about it, I became thankful for their actions because I realized how dangerous the Amazon Kindle Zip Sleeve in Lime could be. You see, it's so attractive that it could have distracted the nice man who hid a flask in his Doritos bag and he may have tripped and spilled his liquor. If I threw it, it could have hit the jolly fellow with skull mask and lightsaber and perhaps have damaged one of the large spikes on his shirt. And as the Raiders lost so horrifically to the Eagles, I may have gotten so angry that I could have thrown my Amazon Kindle Zip Sleeve in Lime onto the playing field (which I could have as it's so light-weight), and then, *gasp!* there would have been my Amazon Kindle Zip Sleeve in Lime ON THE FIELD. And would someone please think of the children? Well, I'm glad the Oakland Coliseum security did. By throwing my Amazon Kindle Zip Sleeve in Lime--in perfectly good condition--into the trash, they saved countless lives. Thank you, Oakland Coliseum Security. Thank you.

This sleeve is very thin, which is nice, and it holds my Kindle Paperwhite, which is also nice. There's no spare room in there either, you put the kindle in and that's it. Great for travel, so you can put it in your suitcase, or in your laptop bag or briefcase and not worry about it. The Lime color is a little harsh, but I understand it was available in other colors at one point, so the color isn't really something to review. The material is sturdy, and I have had no trouble with the zipper. It doesn't seem to come close to the kindle at all. No really much to review, it's canvas outside and soft rubbery foam inside. Zips on two adjacent sides and the kindle slips in and out. That's it. Great if you don't like having a cover on the kindle itself while you read.

With my old Kindle I had an easy flip-open cover, but it made the Kindle considerably heavier. So I got this to try it out. It's not as convenient as a cover where you can just flip open and close, since you'd have to zip open, take it out, and then if you're in line somewhere, you'd have to deal with the sleeve, and then the reverse action to put it back. So I've found myself leaving the Kindle lying around without putting it back when at home. But, it is much, much lighter to carry around when out. So for that, it's good for me.

Quality is good too. Zipper glides smoothly, interior has a slight foam for protection. I thought I'd hate the lime color, but it's not too bad.

Got the lime green case with my kindle this week. It looks nice and neat, seems to offer decent protection for the device. The inner lining is soft and spongy. There is a slight 'factory' smell from it when you put your nose right up to it but to be honest it really isn't that bad and it's dissipating. I don't know why some people were so turned off by this because it's no worse than any other dye/ textile smell you get from any product that's been wrapped in plastic for a while. These 'factory' smells always go away after a while in my experience anyway.

The case does the job, is slim and light and doesn't add too much to the weight/ size of the kindle in your bag and it looks nice. Four stars just because I like it and 'love' is probably too strong a word for what is just a utilitarian accessory at the end of the day!

I like the fact that my kindle can be protected. I was a little disappointed to see that it only unzips on the top and one side, as I thought it unzipped around three sides like a book cover and would stay on the kindle if I desired when reading. It is light and stylish. Overall, I like it and it works for me but if you want something that is like a bookcover, look at something different.

Description

It is what it is: a nice padded protective sleeve for your Kindle. My only real complaint was the lack of color choices. Good thing I love green! Also, it would be nice if it was designed in such a way that I could zip up my Kindle while still leaving an opening to charge it. But that's no biggie. I just put my Kindle in with the bottom end facing the top of the sleeve and zip as far as I can. (I have dogs and cats who wreak havoc in my house... everything ends up on the floor at some point!) All in all, it's a good product for the price.

I always carry my Kindle around with me, so this was much needed. Mine is a little stained from me using it (no fault of seller). I have had this for four years now and it still works as well as the day I got it. One of my best purchases!

Offers great cushion on both sides for the Kindle, 6" E Ink Display, Wi-Fi - Includes Special Offers (Black). Note: Zipper does not go all the way around, it only half un-zips. Not a con, just a quirk to know about. Great color looks great and stands out so I can quickly scan a room and find my Kindle. Craftsmanship looks very good. Would buy again or give as gift.

I love this cover. After reading reviews on various covers, I decided not to spend a lot of money and I liked the idea of a non-bulky sleeve. The band (in contrasting color) can be used to stabilize the Kindle when on a slippery or slanted surface; it allows you tuck one end of the Kindle underneath it. I've just washed the cover with a little soapy water and a soft toothbrush to get rid of some stains (acquired at the kitchen table), and it looks brand new. It is cushioned inside with foam, and the fabric feels nice to the touch. An excellent product.

The sleeve works fine, it holds a Kindle in and it provides some protestion from the dangers of everyday's life. The fake leather band is ridiculous, it doesn't add anything to the portable utility of the sleeve, it adds weight and manufacturing complexity to it, and it is brown of all the colors. One may imagine that one may slide one's hand under the band which may help to hold the sleeve better in some way, but I cannot imagine myself or anybody else actualy doing that.
