They just about bite my fingers off trying to eat these treats out of my hands. They love them so much and go crazy over them! These chicken bits are definitely high value treats for my kitties. They've never gone as crazy for a treat as they have for these. It is definitely pricey but buying the bulk size gives you the most bang for your buck. My bag has tons of large pieces, but I actually prefer to break them up into smaller bites before giving to my cats.
Warning!! These treats are extremely messy so beware where you feed. You may end up with chicken dust all over your carpet. The reason I prefer to feed my cat smaller bits of chicken is so they don't make as much of a mess. If I feed them larger pieces they end up breaking into bits all over my floor. For ease of access, I like to transfer some treats into a different glass jar and my kitties always come running when they hear my open it. I definitely recommend it if you are willing to splurge on treats! Love that they're made of just one ingredient: chicken! The only downside is that it seems like the price fluctuates on these like crazy; it has increased by $13 since I purchased them at the end of June.
I had already bought smaller packages of Whole Life from the local pet store, so I knew our very finicky cat liked this product. But the store often only carried small bags or was out of stock, so I decided to try this larger package. I read several reviews that complained about the packaging, but I also noticed that the company responded very politely to these complaints and explained how they were revising their packaging for Amazon.
I was tremendously impressed by how true this was. The 21 oz dried chicken comes shipped in a re-sealable bag inside a cardboard box from Whole Life, which is then shipped inside the Amazon box. From my experience, the pieces are even larger and less broken than from the smaller store packages. I support a company that listens to customer complaints.
The 21 oz lasts about a month for one cat, twice a day (supplemented with some dry food as well). When you get to the bottom of the bag after a month, yes there are powdered crumbles, but I don't see how this would be otherwise. And if you mix them with water, its the same consistency as canned cat food and is just fine.
Some other good points about this product.
1) The simply say (right on the box) its for dogs or cats. No trying to charge you more for a cat version of the same product.
2) I have also purchased Pure Bites and I find this chicken to be a much higher quality. Pure Bites tends to have tendons or fat in the freeze dried chunks, which create very sharp points, like thin chicken bones, and you have to hand check each and every piece. The Whole Life chicken is much more reliable. Only an occasional hardened by-product is found.
3) It comes with some rather large chunks, but these are very easy to break up with your fingers, and you actually feel you are really getting your money's worth because just one or two large chunks are enough for a one cat meal.
My cats, and every cat I've ever given this to, love this stuff. Yes, it's basically the little bits of freeze dried chicken you find in Cup-O-Soup. But to cats (and your wallet), this is Beluga caviar served on top of the finest Kobe beef with a glass of champagne.
I had a feral kitty who was challenging to pill. But I'd put her pill on a small pile of this and she reminded me every day that it was "treat time!" A real life-saver--literally. Yeah, the price is insane. But the quality is good (after a bad period where they changed processing methods, it's back to the old version), and the 21 ounce bag will last you quite a while.
The cats that live here love this product. I appreciate that the Whole Life people do not add fillers just to avoid the powder. Having dried foods and cooked things, I think the occasional hard bits are to be expected. I have ordered the 21 oz. box the last few times and 85+% of the well sealed bag inside contains large pieces. I move them to a new bag and use the small flakes and powder to sprinkle on the dry food. I soak the few hard pieces as the older cats like them. I have very little waste with this product - way less than the waste with my human food. This provider has answered all questions I have had promptly and professionally. If a return was necessary, I feel certain it would be replaced without delay. The clowder gives Whole Life Pet Products 24 paws up!
All of my cats love these! We were using another freeze dried chicken that they really liked, but these are preferred. They are softer as well, so more easily turn to powder. But they don't care, they lick the bowls clean. We will keep buying.

My wife ordered this after trying a smaller bag at a pet store. She’s tried other brands, but others can have stale, and/or a mixture of light & dark chicken - sometimes with either sharp or soggy pieces. My wife said that THIS brand is consistently perfect and our “many” cats go crazy at treat time! Even some who’ve never been interested in treats show up for these.
My pets go nuts for the freeze-dried chicken, turkey and salmon. I buy it in large quantities. It can be offered as dry treats or reconstituted with water. While expensive, the cost is usually justified due to quality of meat and expense of freeze-drying. Sometimes you can get it slightly discounted; it seems to be when they're changing the cutting templates and want to clear out previous inventory. Overall quality remains high. Word of caution, as one who's bought from several (ok, MANY) lots. The cut size of the chicken breast varies. In some batches you'll get larger pieces and more powder at the bottom, in others you'll get a great deal of smaller pieces but more conformity. Ultimately it doesn't affect quality or palatability; my cats and dogs love it.
KITTY CRACK !!! MY BABY KITTY LOVES THIS AND I FEEL GOOD FEEDING HER THIS HIGH QUALITY AMERICAN PRODUCT.
I KEEP IT IN THE FRIDGE TO KEEP CRUNCHY - HUMIDITY IS NOT GOOD FOR THIS.
My cat absolutely loves these. From a kitten he has had a hard time chewing hard food/treats so I gave these a try. He eats them like air but still eats his regular cat food. They do make a mess though with a fine dusting of chicken around the bowl. I even give him the 'dust' from the bottom. He licks the bowl clean while the dust blows from his breath as he vigorously attacks the bowl.
These are not cheap, but my kittens love them, and they've really helped in the training process. I don't have to think twice about the negative affects of too many treats - training them to scratch in the right places, and to come when I call is an ongoing process - so they get these treats a lot. They're 100% pure freeze-dried chicken, so I know they're healthy. I buy them in the largest size available which helps to keep the cost a little lower.
