Great product. Allowed me to remove a nest of cables from the back of my iMac on a monitor arm. The hub is beefy, aluminum housing, abundant ports. After receiving this, I left it on my desk and played with different locations to mount the hub. Refactored my desk because this product enabled me to get cables out of sight and in apt and natural runs. Recommended!!!

Hub is packed in compact box together with USB 3.0 cable and rated as 5V/4A output power supply unit. Hub looks extremely stylish, made from black aluminum with LED lights that are highlighting usb ports: blue LED for USB 3.0 10 ports and orange LED for charging ports.
I like idea of charging ports very much, you might know how it is annoying, when you want just to charge your phone connecting it to nearest USB, e.g. in your laptop and then whey are starting to connect each other! With SmartDelux 13 you will always have an option to charge 3 gadgets with no any issues.
When I read questions about this product, it was promised that SmartDelux 13 will support multiple HDD connected together. Because it is a regular scenario for me, I decided to check the limits, how many HDD it could power simultaneously and what will be resulting performance.
Fortunately, I had no change to find any issues while connecting multiple HDD, because I had only 8 to connect and all of them were happy to work together. I wrote 10GB file to each HDD (at the same time, total writing rate was 93.85MB/s or 11.7MB/s average per one HDD). After that I read that test file back to my laptop in parallel and it took only 5 1/2 minus, that means that reading speed was impressive 243.5MB/s or 30.44MB/s per each HDD, one of them was not USB 3.0, and it took noticeable to finish, so we could conclude that by using SmartDelux 13 you will fully utilize power of USB 3.0 devices

I have an extensive home office with a laptop, four external drives (three powered by the hub), a DVD reader/writer, a portable floppy drive and a USB cable for hooking up my Amazon Kindle, IPad, IPhone and digital camera. I also use the hub for charging the Kindle, IPad and IPhone on occasion when I need a charge port. I use the hub as more of a 'docking station' than an accessory hub. Believe me, it is more reliable than many USB docking stations that I have owned and tried out. The best docking station outside the hub was manufactured by IBM back in the 'good old days' for their ThinkPad T Series laptops. I still own one and it is almost 20-years old. The power supply for the hub is hefty and will rated to carry everything I connect to the hub. Since I installed and configured the system a little over a year ago, the system worked to perfection. I carry the laptop to a work location and when I return home, I just connected the cable and I have my whole system up. There is little or no load on the laptop's USB buss as I only connect the keyboard and mouse directly to the laptop. The rest of the system 'load' is on the hub and it does exactly what it is designed to do. I highly recommend the hub to any who are thinking of purchasing a docking station. The hub works a lot better!
