This bread is unbelievably GREAT! If you are Paleo or following Wheat Belly diet and want to eliminate grains (whole, refined, stone-ground, etc.) or dislike the gluten-free in a box that tastes...bleh...then you have found a star in this Artisan Bread!
I have made it loaf style (aka 'bread') and dinner rolls style (in cupcake tins). It is AMAZING!
I have eliminated sugar so I often find things too sweet. I make this Artisan bread as dinner rolls and can add juice-sweetened organic jam and butter and when the rolls are fresh from the oven...it's heaven!
I also use the rolls for Strawberry shortcake. I take a carton of heavy whipping creme and add stevia and vanilla and whip it up. then I cut fresh strawberries and it's all out of this world delicious.
The rolls I made tonight sort of melt in my mouth. Not dry or anything.
This bread can be used to replace tortillas in Mexican dishes. It can literally be anything you want...hamburger buns, etc.
Once I tried adding garlic but that didn't work so well.
The Simple Mills line is just fantastic. Their Pizza crust mix if 5 stars and so are their crackers. The pumpkin, bannana and chocolate mixes are too sweet for me, but I like zero sugar.
I like that the almond meal doesn't sit in my stomach like wheat did. I hope this company stays in business forever.
As a diabetic, it's tough finding cookies that "work". Most either taste like sand, or are going to mess up your blood sugar in a pretty big way. Not these. They actually have a really nice taste and texture, and don't have much effect on blood sugar. They are also really really simple (and quick) to make. Add milk (I use coconut milk), olive oil, and vanilla. Mix it up, and then throw it in the oven. Done.
One tip: they say to cook it for about 10 min. I cook it for at least double that. As written, the instructions will produce very dough-ey, soft cookies. Cooking them for 20+ min gives you crispier, (to me nicer) cookies.
I have given up carbs for health reasons but I am a pizza fiend so this dough is the perfect solution. My family laughs that I have given up carbs but then tried this dough and they loved it too. The taste is great! There is no real difference compared to a regular pizza crust. Highly recommend!!! I make both at a time and then save one in a storage bag in the fridge.
This is BY FAR the best gluten free bread mix we've ever tried, and it's Paleo-friendly, yeast free, and low in carbs. You can make it into flatbread, rolls, or a loaf. We always do flatbread (but me make it into 4-5 mini flatbreads instead of the 2 recommended on the box) and make little pizzas or just dip it in olive oil. It has the texture and taste of a real foccacia-type bread without any grains. It is fairly expensive, but worth it.
I highly recommend baking it on parchment paper, since it is pretty sticky. It can also be hard to roll out-we usually have to use gloves or press it down with a small piece of parchment paper. A little labor intensive, but again worth it.
I know it's only a five star rating but I would definitely give this a ten star if I could. I cannot tolerate grains so Almond and Coconut flours are my friend. Even making pizza crust myself with Almond flour doesn't turn out as good as this does! I was hopeful to try this after trying the cake mix and was not disappointed! It's obviously not a standard crust like wheat, or even a GF grain crust, but I cannot tolerate processed grains so it's definitely the thing to try if you are like me. I put sauce, daiya cheese and pepperoni on the first one. And I made a fruit pie with it too (apple butter with apple compote, drizzled with cinnamon sugar glaze). I look forward to trying your other products too!

Description
Delicious and versatile. Mix in your favorite spices for a savory treat, or explore our recipes for more fun ideas. It goes without saying that ingredients are the heart of our business. And we think about them a lot – it’s a healthy obsession! We believe food should give your body more of the good stuff (protein, vitamins and minerals). And less of the not so good stuff (sugar, grains and gluten). Standards that ingredients must live up to in order to star in one of our products. That’s the simple way.
This is absolutely THE VERY BEST paleo bread I have ever tried.
For a diabetic who chooses to address this disease with a paleo lifestyle, the nutritional content is flawless. Only 100 calories and 11 grams of carbs per serving, with 5 grams of protein and 6 grams of "good fat". It is gluten free, soy free, grain free, dairy free and low carb. And for Paleo People who do not fear fat, this is a dream come true.
But the nutrition facts don't mean a thing if it isn't tasty and satisfying, and that is where this product really shines. It is so yummy that I cannot believe it is made up of short, simple list of ingredients that fully comply with the demanding restrictions of "paleo". The secret ingredient is Apple Cider Vinegar, which is added to the mix along with eggs and oil. This gives Artisan Bread a distinct flavor of old fashioned sourdough bread. I love, love, love it!
What is more, this bread actually competes with mainstream, grain based bread enough to interest my husband who is not Paleo and has no health issues that would require him to restrict his diet. He absolutely raves about this and I end up making it quite often because it gets eaten pretty fast around our house.
I have type 2 diabetes, Celiac Disease, and numerous food sensitivities, and I know the frustration of a restricted diet that leaves me feeling unsatisfied. Finding something that falls well within the parameters of my dietary demands, that doesn't make me sick and that is also yummy and filling is a real find. I'll never be without this again!
These are SUCH a gift! The only thing I could ask for is Certified Organic - but, other than that - LOVE!
My kiddo cannot have gluten. I have spent so many hours cooking GF baked goods (that also have to be dairy free and as simply created as possible - no gmo's, no preservatives, no dyes etc) and have only found a few! Even the good ones take so much time to make. What a RELIEF that I can have these from box to I've to hands in 25 mins. Right now making "muffins" but will use this (vanilla) cupcake/cake mix for cupcakes for kiddo's bday party! We add a little extra vanilla and throw in a good amount of cinnamon (tastes like zucchini bread) or throw in a handful of frozen blueberries (they do sink to the bottom mostly) and they both taste great! Worth the purchase if you are a busy person who needs to have a sweet that's healthy! Or just someone who doesn't dig from scratch baking.
We use silicone muffin cups and they turn out perfect every time. (Look for silicone that doesn't turn white when you pinch it ;)
This is the best Paleo bread I've ever eaten. The ingredients are simple and healthy. I bake this in my Breville toaster oven in an 8.5" x 4.5" Pyrex loaf pan. Since my toaster oven runs hot, I reduce the temperature to 325 degrees for the 1 hour the recipe calls for rotating the pan every 15 minutes to allow it to bake evenly. Before putting it in the oven, I spray the top with olive oil and sprinkle it with some sea salt. The loaves are beautiful when they come out of the oven. I highly recommend this product.
We started eating this bread after changing our diet and moving away from grains. The very first time I tried it I thought - this is not bread (waaahhhhh). The 2nd time it was so good. I recommend you toast it at least lightly. Also, it makes all the difference using a quality olive oil. I've made it with avocado oil and it's not as flavorful.
Our routine now is to bake 3 loaves at a time, cool, cut in half and store in the freezer. The loaf we're consuming is kept in the fridge (no preservatives).
I had avocado toast this morning (see the picture) and it was heavenly - so wonderful and aromatic I thought I really need to right a review. As you can see I was halfway through my first piece.
I looked up my history and we've had the 3 box deal on subscription for 12 months now. I'm a fan and highly recommend you try it. :)
Wow! I made the focaccia to go with soup, and it was AWESOME. The first time I made it, it was a little denser, akin to a shortbread, but delicious. The second time I went a little lighter on the almond flour mix and it rose a bit more and had a more "bready" texture. Both were great, but I suggest not packing the measuring cups when measuring out the mix. I brushed a little olive oil over the top of the loaf and sprinkled kosher salt and fresh rosemary on top. So good.
