I want to note that I have had this dishwasher for several months now and have had zero issues. The only thing was that the machine does make a sound during the cycle that I was "concerned" about at first. But, then I realized this was totally normal. Overall, this dishwasher is pretty quiet at 48 decibels. The range for dishwasher sounds is 46 to 60 decibels, so this definitely is on the very quiet side. But, it does make a slightly louder sound very briefly in the beginning of the cycle. Otherwise, this d/w has outperformed my expectations.

When I first went about searching for a new dishwasher, I didn't quite know where to begin. When I found that there were appliances available in this beautiful black stainless steel, I'll fully admit that I started to only look at those brands. The black stainless steel is just so beautiful, and I was looking for a change in our kitchen. I scoured the reviews of the other brands and models that came in the black stainless. This was a clear winner to me! We will be replacing all of our appliances (as they die, ha) with this color choice. LG was one of those brands that offered this choice and after the tremendous success with this d/w, we'll very likely stick with the LG brand for all our appliance purchases!

When I started to peruse the features and read reviews on this product, I was nearly sold instantly. The QuadWash feature was the most prominent. The washer on the bottom has four arms that sprays from multiple angles. It absolutely kills at removing any and all food particles you throw in there. Secondly, the EasyRack Plus system allows the racks to be adjusted so you can fit in nearly any size cookware. In addition, you can customize the washing power on the racks for mixed loads.

There are NINE different wash cycles to choose from. That's a lot, in my opinion. Not that it's bad, but I have honestly only used the Auto cycle so far. It was hard at first to not be tempted to rinse my plates and dishes before putting them into the d/w. But, I swear, there has been no left over residue and I was left dumbfounded. Now, I stick just about anything in there without pre-rinsing. It's such a timesaver!

The control panel is on the front of the d/w, which my husband prefers, but it is VERY sensitive. It's easy to accidentally touch it where the power button is and it comes on. But, you have to actually hit the START button to activate the machine so this isn't a big deal. We like how the digital display denotes the time and countdown and says "END" when the wash is done.

My husband did the installation himself and had no problems, so I can't comment on professional installation as we didn't need it.

We're very, very pleased and look forward to using this d/w for many years. I also look forward to replacing our other appliances with LG brand items!

This dishwasher is sleek-looking, efficient and very quiet. It has a number of cycles to choose from, and has "delay start," which we were looking for and use a lot. We also like that a number of the tines in BOTH the upper and lower racks can be folded to allow for many configurations of dishes of varying sizes. In addition, we were specifically looking for a dishwasher with a third rack, which this has, and which is very useful for lids, small spoons or other small items (including ones that have handles too big for the cutlery rack). Part of that third rack can also lower to allow for placing items slightly taller/thicker than normal for third racks.

The one thing I DO NOT like is that several of the cycles -- including "normal" -- don't actually have a drying period (you have to use the "auto" cycles to get the condensed drying function, which initiates a fan at the end of the cycle to condense water from the dishes). LG did that to avoid including a heating element, thus making the machine more "green." I think it's pretty weird and it makes those couple of cycles almost useless -- unless you actually want to get out a dish towel and hand dry your clean dishes. What a good idea! [sarc]. (Why has LG adopted this kind of idiocy? We also have an LG stove on which they did something similar: it doesn't have a regular, high-heat self-cleaning function; instead a supposed steam-cleaning function that doesn't work worth a darn.)

That said, we're not at all sorry we bought this particular machine. We have a houseful of LG appliances (dishwasher, range, fridge, washer, dryer), and but for the energy issue I called attention to, we like them all. A lot.
