This was a re-order. The product is great, but this time it cme in an acrylic jar not a pouch. After about 4-wks I noticed that a few of the pods had turned to powder. The Amazon 30-day return policy had passed, yet the product was defective. My earlier purchase of 60ct pouch had lasted over a year w/ the pods intact. I sent two emails to Grab Green via their customer support link at the Grab Green website. No reply. Yesterday I did manage to reach the Customer Service Rep via a toll-free number. Turns out they had no record of either complaint from their website. My issue was unique to them. -- not at all common. The bottom line, however, is that they lived up to their promise to "satisfy their customers" and have replaced the product now in a pouch including free shipping. They were also very concerned that my emails had been lost in their IT system. In the end, Grab Green supported me and assuming no further "break-apart" issues I will continue reordering their effective product. By the way, they have recently phased out the acrylic jar and replaced it with a pouch. Since I did get real help from Grab Green Customer Service, I felt I should revise my earlier very negative rating.
Amazing dishwashing detergent! Not only am I loving these for my dishes but also my dishwasher. I was using another "natural" dishwashing detergent and thought I was going to have to buy a dishwasher, because nothing was getting clean. One wash with these pods and my dishes were so clean. Also the inside of my dishwasher is cleaner! I love that they are natural and in the pod form. I have hard water and these have done great. There is a "fresh" smell to them when you open the bag, but there is no scent left on the dishes. Since using these I no longer have been washing my dishes after I take them out of my dishwasher, like I was doing with the previous brand I used.
I'll start by saying that I have been using cascade for over 15 years. I must have tried over 12 other brands to try to either save money or use a less chemical brand. None had worked nearly as well and some not at all. About 2 years ago I became really sensative to smells and I started making my body wash, shampoo, hand soap, laundry and all my cleaning supplies fragrance free. And let me tell u it has not been easy. I can smell even the slightest smells that other people can't. Needless to say I have found a brand for all of the aforementioned products but it took a long time. The last product I need was a dishwasher detergent. I tried only one other brand because they are hardly ever in the supermarket. That brand was awful. So what I started doing is putting my powerful whirlpool air purifier on in front of the dishwasher when I ran it. Needless to say it really didn't work well and it was making me dread running the dishwasher.
So I went on amazon and did a search and I found a few brands. This one and another one were tied in the rating. So I literally just picked this one to try first. I am so glad that I did! I tried it twice already and it cleaned my dishes as good as cascade and without the stink! No more air purifier needed. I used to have to rise all my dishes to get the stink off not to mention all the chemicals. And I love the little drop in instead of the gel and powder. Plus it looks like it hardly uses any chemical most enzymes to breakdown the food. Amazing! I love it, it's perfect! I don't need to try any other brands.
Even with my super smell I can only smell the slightest bit of soap if I open the dishwasher right after. But if I let it sit for an hour or 10 hours, I almost couldn't tell if I even ran the dishwasher because there is no smell lol. I only could tell because all the dishes and cutlery were very clean. This is really a perfect product, so I had to write a review.
The best detergent for Hard water. Had a love/hate relationship with my dishwasher when we moved in- loved that it did the dishes, hated how much pre and Post washing I had to do.
Luckily someone in town mentioned this detergent, I was initially skeptical as I don't usually like "pods", but was willing to try. Before grab Green is tried all your typical liquid or powder formulations, I even made my own powder with borax, washing soda, etc- which was a pain but almost worked, except I could never get the ratios right to have it Not leave a powdery white film in my water glasses or kids' plastic dishes. No thanks.
Grab green is easy to use, dissolved completely, leaves no weird residue on my dishes (glass, plastic, stainless pans...) And best of all actually cleans the crud off them! I always run my sink water to hot right before I hit start on the DW, not sure if that helps but I read it somewhere. I am So happy with the job these pods do, now I'm tempted to try a scented bag next (were only bought unscented so far)
I was really unhappy with the film that was being left on my dishes from the chemical based soap I was using so I wanted to go natural. I tried making my own with essential oils and still wasn't happy with the result. l didn't feel my dishes were getting clean (and I tried to talk myself into believing it was working). I found these on Amazon and decide to give them a try. VERY HAPPY !!! These work great. It cleans my dishes without leaving gunk behind. Would highly recommend and will order again.

I have tried others and sadly for a while went back to the bad name brand one with -YIKES- BLEACH! Ugh! But then I found the reviews for this product and it comes in PODS! YAY! YES, some of the pods are empty because the casing for each pod is very fragile. It has to be in order to dissolve in your water and do what it's supposed to do, peeps! :-) When all the intact pods (which is most of the container and I bought the BIG one) are all gone I'll use the remaining powder the old fashioned way. <insert sarcasm> OH MAN! THAT IS GONNA BE SOOOO HARD! ;-) I saw the reviews that many people's product came severely damaged and Amazon must have taken note of that too because my shipment came bubble wrapped as if it were fine china. It was actually quite funny but I understood why because I had read the reviews. Anyway, back to the product. So far about a dozen washes and have found no powder residue at all and very sparkly dishes! I'm very , very pleased with this product and feel really good that there is no longer any bleach residue on my clean dishes. Oh and I have a mediocre dishwasher (new but CHEAP) and I do not notice any lingering smell on my dishes.
Update: September 2016 I still absolutely LOVE these little dishwashing pods by Grab Green! They are superb to any other I have ever used green or otherwise, including Casc*d* and any of the other mainstream ones. The pods recently got EVEN BETTER!! They are now using something different to house the detergent (ie the outer shell). It is shaped better for fitting in the dispenser better and they dissolve as well or the same. I've never had any trouble with mine dissolving except the last batch that was exposed to some moisture (my fault) and when they dried they hardened to cause them not to dissolve well but they still cleaned my dishes amazingly well. I was going to throw this dishwasher out to the curb (brand new and all) before this brand!! The only thing about this newer version is the packaging. Although it is more convenient the velcro seal doesn't stay sealed well unless you're very, very careful and when you've got kids that doesn't happen, let's face it. So...I use a very strong clip and roll it down to make sure they seal well and don't get damp. This is important in FL. It works great and I'm a very happy homemaker!
If the pods are broken, just use one heaping spoon of the powder.
In my case, no pods were broken when I bought the 132 loads. BUT, upon leaving them up to 1 year without using half the box because of no much of of dishwasher, etc, or other various reasons, i.e. going away on travel etc, then the remaining pods apparently became hardened. So, they were more-or-less unuseable since they would not dissolve any more in the dishwasher, so i would find the dishwasher just doing the dishes with water only in the end. I thought to use a hammer to break the pods into powder and use the poweder instead, but after over a year of owning the 130 loads, i just threw away the remaining pods.
So, I will probably not buy so many pods again if I' m not going to use them quickly.
Probably the 60, or 2 of 25 pods may be better so thee are used up and then repurchased new again.
I would just make sure to close the lid of the container so that no air gets in so they pods remain fresh.
In terms of quality they worked well, cleaned the dishes and had apparently no problem. Some odor of the powder is usually present but all detergents may have similar odor and does not constitude a problem. They left no residue as of I noticed.
I will continue to buy again.
Love these. Work great even with an overcrowded load and slightly lower temp (our water heater is on the other side of the house). The best part and the reason I first tried them is they do not smell and leave it on my glasses and bowls. I do keep them in a half gallon jar with a tight lid because we live in a damp climate and also I have several curious grandchildren around so I want a tight fitting lid even with a locked cabinet. Great product. Have used this for many months now.
I love these. It’s often difficult to find non toxic and eco friendly products that actually clean, but these miraculous little pods do it all. They also don’t break during shipping like other brands I’ve tried. Price is a little steep, but more manageable with subscribe and save. Also I don’t mind paying a little more to support an eco friendly product/company and to keep chemicals off my family’s dishes!
Before trying this product, I would have said, "Who cares about the environment if you have to hand wash half the dishes your dishwasher couldn't clean itself?" As someone who has always been loyal to Cascade Complete for washing my dishes to the standard I expect, I was not going to be easily swayed. But when I came across GrabGreen Automatic Dishwashing Detergent, Thyme with Fig Leaf, 24 Loads, 15.2-Ounce, when looking for something that might be more environmentally safe, I decided to give it a shot...with my trusty back-up detergent on hand, of course.
The fragrance alone, when I was running the dishwasher the first time, had me hoping it would pass the clean inspection! The hot steam that released from the vents filled my house with an intensely fresh scent that didn't smell chemically or over powering. Most importantly, it cleaned my dishes JUST AS WELL and maybe even better! My glasses and plates were pristine with zero residue or film, and I was thrilled!
I alternate back and forth between Pear With Magnolia and the Thyme with Fig Leaf (mentioned above) without being able to pick a favorite, and I will certainly try others in the future. Don't hesitate to spend your money on something you aren't used to because are getting a dependable detergent with Grab Green!! This company did what a lot can't these days: offer something new and still maintain quality!
