Every summer I buy a pool float and hate myself a little because I know it is bad for the environment to keep using and tossing these plastic floats. But they always pop! By the end of the summer, a seam has split or it has been punctured and leaks no matter what my repair attempts.
But since discovering FUNBOY, that is all changing. These floats are SO TOUGH. They feel closer to my inflatable paddleboard than your standard float, but they pack up nice and small. I tried the vintage Cali tube and the print is SO cute in person. It is also huge, so you can lounge around in the pool comfortably. These cost a bit more than the cheaper floats you see around, but they are worth every penny. From the thicker material to the reinforced seams and even the solid bit where you blow it up, this is made to last more than one summer. And the shapes are so different and fun!
This is high quality vinyl and even the um, slightly more rotund of us can fit though the hole in the middle for floating. I like tubes because you can keep most of your body underwater and cool, yet still relax. It is actually about 50 inches across inflated. You do need some sort of pump to inflate these, we use one designed for an airbed. They are easy to inflate if you have such a device, and even better, the valve is easy to open and deflate (no more trying to hold a teeny valve pinched between your fingers while you squeeze!)
It is probably NOT sturdy enough for river floating if you are going to encounter rocks, but it is far, far more sturdy than a typical vinyl tube.
This is a really expensive pool float. We usually pick up ones at the grocery store or a big box store that cost around a third of the price. That being said they typically don't last the summer in our pool. I have much higher hopes for this one and I'll tell you why. For one thing the material is much thicker than a standard pool float. And for another the float is divided up into different compartments so that if there happens to be a leak in one the whole thing isn't a wash you have the opportunity to patch it successfully. Not that we've had any leaks yet and my kids are super into the game where you leap off the side of the pool and cannon ball on top of the float, so that in and of itself is a small miracle. When you first get the float it does have a really strong chemical smell. That lingered for us for quite a few days even in and out of the pool. It seems to have dissipated now but just a heads up if you have a small space you will be able to detect the smell from far away and up close it's very strong. So far I'm really impressed with the quality of this float and it's been worth the price this summer. All update if it ends up popping.

I hadn't been in a ring float since I was a kid, so this was a blast to float around in (pool). I have a small portable air compressor that I keep in my car, so it was very easy to inflate this. The vinyl is thick; it's been standing up to the force of the kidlets sliding down the pool slide onto it and skidding across the pool.
I knocked it down one star because something this size should have a handle on it to make carrying it to-and-from storage easier.
So far, everyone has been having fun with this. I haven't noticed any air leakage. I've really been enjoying being able to sit in it and lazily float around in the pool
When they say oversized, they mean it! This is a MUCH bigger float than I expected. We used it at a pool party recently, and everyone felt that handles on the sides would have been very helpful. It's also... sort of boring compared to some of the other Funboy floats. Like other Funboy floats, it seems to be very high quality construction, and also - we just noticed - makes some sort of charitable drinking water contribution. It's marked as 14+ however, just as an FYI.
These are well made products that are fun to play with in the water/pool. They are easy to fill with air using a common hair dryer (just make sure you keep it on cold air...). There is a one way valve that can be used to push more air in to the desired level of stiffness. The large fill hole makes it easy and quick to pack after use. We got a couple of models and they all are solidly made, no leaks, the material is of high quality and can withstand abuse, fun to play with in the water.
Everyone in the family loved this pool float. We ended up mostly using it in our very large kiddy pool or next to it, where everyone would kinda pile on top of it and sunbathe on the floatie. It did indeed float nicely in an actual pool of water though, and while ours did spring a leak, the included repair pads fixed it.
The cactus motif was fun and the cheerful yellow made the kids feel festive about summer.
This is a fun fun tube for playing in the pool. More than one child fits on it at a time. It is also big enough for adult butt in the water for a real lounge. LOL. Most of them are too small for adults to fit in unless it involves a water park. I also like the style of this one with its cacti and flamingoes.
