This is a nice looking unit. It is simple in design. It is much more quiet than a Whirlpool microwave- fan unit I have in another house. This unit can be vented to the outside via top or rear. The lights are LED which is a big plus. I would buy this again and I highly recommend the unit.
you will never find a better range hood for this amount of money. people who are complaining about the lights not being bright need to invest in better kitchen lighting or need to get their eyes checked. the included lighting works fine for HELPING to illuminate the stove top while cooking. the fan is fairly quiet although not silent. mounts well and seems sturdy enough. you can either have it vent out the back or up top. the only stupid thing i found was the electrical comes out the top and cant be relocated unless you are handy. i used a stepper bit and punched a hole through the back for it and had a rubber gromet that worked. why would they make it so you can mount it under a cabinet then have the electrical only come out the top?! dumb, but after my drill was done with it, everything mounted up nice. all in all well worth the money and would buy it again instantly.
Purchased this 2 weeks ago. I just love it. Has 3 speeds, a light, 2 aluminum grease filters and a granular carbon round filter. Is low profile which is also a nice feature. You change out the carbon filter every 6 months or based on cooking. The aluminum filters can be put in dishwasher or hand washed. Let's just say this works. We live in a rental and the previous hood was a Broan 24 inch because my stove is 24 inches so needlessly to say there was space on either side of hood. This thing was basically a glorified light bulb. It sucked nothing out in the way of grease, smoke, etc. Every time I cooked the grease when on the walls, window, pictures etc. My husband and I did spring cleaning and spent a considerable time on cleaning grease. Frankly I was sick of it and now I'm very pleased with this hood. I took measurements and it said this one was 29.5 inches wide as you can see in photo we have a window with molding so I had to be exact. Many of them are in various finished widths from 29.5 up to 30 inches. That makes a difference when you trying to put in a confined space. Needless to say this worked. In order to evacuate smoke and grease you need to have a higher CFM and this one is 250 cfm. We have it recirculating since my landlord would have to approve having it vented out, but for now it works beautifully. Do your homework and look at the specs at the Cosmo web site. My husband and I installed this ourselves and had never done one previously. Look at a YouTube video. Very helpful in that regard. All I can say is that I cook multiple things on the stove and use the highest speed and you can see everything going up to filters and away from the rest of the kitchen. The only downside would be the white led lights, looking into changing out since I have soft white led under cabinet. Other than that it is perfect and low maintenance. Remember nothing is perfect. I would not hesitate to purchase again if I moved because this is outstanding and at a great price to boot. Also has a 5 year warranty and USA customer service.
I replaced a suspended hood that had ineffective air flow with this stainless 30" Cosmo hood. Though it was made for under-cabinet or wall mounting, I successfully suspended it above a gas range using airplane wire that I ran through the existing top mounting holes. The default exhaust was on top, which allowed me to add a rectangular-round adapter and run duct to a wall exhaust near the ceiling.
Much classier than the former hood. The stainless is beautiful and the two LED lights sip power while providing welcome illumination of my cooking space.
I considered range hoods that were seven times higher than this was priced. No other brand had all the features I needed for ceiling suspension mounting. Even after contacting several manufacturers directly, none of the other possibilities were realistically workable.

This is a great looking under cabinet rang hood for the price light could be brighter but usable my kitchen is not dark fan is quitter then my last fan it came in on time with amazon prime packing was well protected made it throw with out any issue I've only just installed it and so far no issues but will update if any arise.

Ok so I visited all the usual places looking for range hood. They were either ugly, expensive or both. I just didn't see anything that was cool. Then I found this and got it. Never heard of it, however it had lots of cool features and a reasonable price.
Wiring it up was easy for me as I already had exposed wires coming out of the wall from the last unit so I just had to connect these wires. No plug was needed.
It looked really cool just hanging there and then I turned on the dual LED lights. Now that is bada$$!!! As a guy, never thought I'd rave about a range hood but that is just way, way cool. It really adds a modern look to the kitchen.
The one "downside" is those LED lights really show how clean (or not) the stove top is. LOL!
The fan has 3 speeds and even on the highest one isn't that loud.
All in all, I really like it because it's like nothing I've seen in any of the stores , looks cool, has lots of features and works.
This range hood came as expected with no damage. The instructions were adequate (if a little unclear) to install it. One thing that I would point out is that it does not come with a plug, so if you are planning on plugging it into an existing electrical outlet, you need to splice on a plug. I removed the plug from our dead over the range microwave that I was replacing and spliced it on to the cord coming from the range. If you are trying to decide between this and a more powerful (higher CFM rating) hood, I would suggest getting the most powerful one you are willing to pay for. This one does the job, but it doesn't quite capture all of the steam/smoke/fumes from pots and pans on our front burners.
We replaced our electric range with gas and needed to update our old white range hood. This slim profile hood is a definite upgrade. I love that it has 3 speeds, all of which we have used. I accidentally let some bacon go too long in the oven, it was smoking, we turned the fan on high, and it cleared out the smoke immediately. We are using it ductless in a small kitchen in a 1927 craftsman bungalow and it is perfect. It came with the carbon filter which does reduce odors quite a bit. The noise level is within normal range (actually quieter than I was anticipating.)
I have two critiques of this unit. First, the LED lights: they're very bluish white which takes some getting used to after having a warmer incandescent bulb for years. Also, they don't seem to cast their bright light over as wide of an area—they're more focused on the surface directly below. So if you're used to leaving just your range hood light on in the kitchen at night, it won't diffuse as far.
Second: the mesh filters must be cleaned by hand. I've noticed other models by Cosmo have filters that are dishwasher safe. I assume those that do have dishwasher safe filters are for higher CFM fans, so it's by design. Wondering if the filters could be upgraded.
Overall, I'm very pleased that we chose this model. It came packaged well, was pretty easy to install (a 2-person job), looks modern and does what it should. Great value for the price, too. I'd recommend this one for sure.
It took a few days of online research to find this range hood.... Its size matched the still working 26 yr old one I removed...
I have a rectangular exhaust in the back wall that also matched..my old one had the electric feeding on the right side,, this one feeds on the left...I pushed the right one in the wall and into the cabinet above, drilled a hole into the cabinet on the left side ..fed the cable up into the cabinet and connected them.... Make sure you trip your breaker first....
This cosmos 30 inch under cabinet range is a perfect fit for me . Working perfect with my gas range.... Has adequate air pull and the lights illuminate the stove top more then I expected.... Time will tell, but I give it 5 stars......
Received and installed my Cosmo Range hood today. Installation wasn't terribly difficult...you will need to pick up a 120V plug and attach to the power cord. It's just 3 wires so anyone with even an inkling of electrical knowledge won't have trouble. The fan has 3 speeds and the high speed is certainly not as loud as my previous range hood. The stainless matches really well with the Broan splash guard that I installed under it. It also matches the Bosch dishwasher. The light isn't super bright but seems to be sufficient. Wish it was a warmer light but I guess when cooking the cool white will work well. So far so good. Will update if I have any issues.
