My old charger went missing about a year ago. I just happened to order this one about a week before Hurricane Matthew. My husband and I both have landline chargers but they would have done us no good for phone and GPS while evacuating and spending hours stuck in traffic. We were able to wait on hold two hours trying to get hotel reservations. With the multiple adaptor it fit both of our phones and my Kindle.
Perfect - charges up my Paperwhite faster than the USB from the computer, charges up my spare re-charge battery about as fast -- call it ~30 min from scary near dead to green-light full charge!!! My computer takes about an hour. Kool!!!
This is the ONLY car charger I have ever had that not only keeps up with my battery usage, but charges it amply when I am using navigation AND streaming music. This is worth every penny. I'm buying another acutally.
For the past few road trips I have been noticing that my HTC DNA would not hold a charge while driving with Google Maps and Trapster running. The battery would just run down. Bummer. I purchased this car charger and took it for a littlle road test. My battery level before the test was showing as 84%. I plugged it in, turned on Google Maps, Trapster and Waze; display on full bright and drove for approximately 25 minutes. At the end of the drive I uplugged the phone and checked the battery level: 90%. A positive charge! My other charger must have been a 1 Amp charger....Anyhow, it's now gone and I'm about to order another one of these for my second vehicle.
Wife wanted it so she can read her Fire in the car. It does that. End of story.

This charger will actually charge my LG G2. I was streaming bluetooth music and using Waze with the screen off, and this charger still managed to charge my phone. Other chargers I have tried would not be able to keep up - they would slow the battery drain, but not add any charge. The green light is a bit bright at night.
I like to read in the car, especially on trips. so the car charger is a great item. The regular charger is handy for at home use. I'm glad I have both items.
At first, I thought the straight cord would be a problem, but it's not. I only have one receptacle and it's in the dash, but my daughter was able to plug in her phone from the back seat. Also, you're free to plug in any USB cable of any length, which is great.
Thank you for this charger. I have an Amizon Fire and this is the only charger compatible with my car and phone. Traveling great distances and having to worry about my phone going dead is no fun at all.
