These fit my earrings perfectly. I have a pair of sterling silver/diamond studs that just never seemed to stay put because their backs were not tight enough, so I ordered these. These fit very tight and the earrings now feel very secure on my ears. Luckily these come in a pack of 12, because they work so well that I changed the earring backs on many other silver earrings to these ones.
A back from this packet is on the left, and the back from my sterling silver/diamond stud is on the right. You can see how much smaller the hole is on the back from this packet. It still fits the post of my silver earrings though, and very securely.
I was alittle skeptical about ordering any of the ear rings backs after reading pages of horror stories, but the wife needed some replacements and we took a shot with these after looking locally for replacements (crazy prices). After the process of elimination we went with the 5.5mm and decided to let the cards fall where they may. Package arrived with out incident and we were happy to find out that this particular size worked on about 50% of her ear rings, fit was alright, quality was actually a little better then expected and regardless it is better then the rubber junk also being sold on Amazon. Next order will be for 5mm and I think we will be good for awhile and hopefully take care of the other half of her ear rings.
I had lost all of my earring backs over time and the last two I had started losing their grip and were not functional, so I ordered these and hoped they’d fit my earrings because I wasn’t sure what size to order. So far, they’ve fit all of my earrings perfectly and snugly, but not too snug where they are difficult to get off. I am relieved to have so many extra earring backs now and I don’t have to worry about my earrings slipping off!
Update: Months later, they have still continued to fit all of my earrings!
I lose earring backs constantly and over the years have just purchased new earrings or taken the backs off of sets I rarely wear. Then I lost the backs to my main earrings again just to realize I had multiple pairs of earrings but had no backs left! I ordered thes and they work perfectly fine as described.
Been wearing for 2 days, so far no adverse skin reaction as reported in some of the reviews. The hole was large enough to accommodate the extra large posts on my hand-made earrings.

I got these to replace backs on earrings that kept coming off when I'm active especially when I'm getting out of the shower. I've lost 3 earrings in the past 2 weeks. So I needed some replacements and these were just what I needed. I'm glad the quantity was just right to use as extras and replacements... I needed more than 1 set but I didn't need 50. This is the size that you want to get for "normal" adult sized earring backings. I am allergic to a lot of metals and have not had any kind of reaction with these.
