I remember about six months ago from the time I am writing this post when you could get 24 cans of this for twenty dollars. Now it's ten dollars more. Which adds up every month if you need to buy about four to five of these cases in a month.
This food is very good quality I just wish they would quit raising the price on it! So here is my experience with this food so far.
My Tuxedo cat, a year ago this coming December 12th, was diagnosed by nine vets to have Idiopathic Chylothorax. Seven vets at Illinois State University out of a total of nine I took her too told me she was going to die and I just need to accept it. One vet there at ISU swore surgery would fix it but it would be 7,000 dollars. Another vet at ISU said I could try putting her on a diet since she was 20 pounds and see if that would help then handed me a small sample of dry cat food that had BHA and BHT in it! (Toxic to animals). So needless to say I spent many days with no sleep searching the Internet for natural food that would help her lose weight after she had been chest tapped a total of nine times less than two months. Then I had found this food and after reading the ingredients I decided to try it. Today, my Tuxedo cat "Pepper" is under 14 pounds and you would never know she had ever been sick. She has had regular checkups to her new vet and he is amazed how clear her chest is on her last x-rays. He even asked me about this food I am giving her because he said this is just something you rarely see with a cat getting better from Chylothorax. So, in closing, I love that this food has helped save my little girl but damn... Could you all stop raising the price please? It's killing me.
I'm a huge believer that the first ingredient of any type of pet food should not be some type of by-product. I wouldn't want to eat something where I can't pronounce half the ingredients and I wouldn't want that for my cat either. Prior to switching to this food, my cat was on Hill's Science, which I considered to be a good brand, but I wasn't a fan of the ingredients. Immediately after we switched over, we saw drastic improvements in my cat's mood and her fur was 10x shinier. Since she was eating real meat, instead of becoming starving after every meal, she was actually full. This stopped all of the food begging behavior that she used to exhibit. I absolutely recommend this brand. My cat's a fan of every flavor as well.
We rescued our cat from our local humane society and decided he deserves to be spoiled since life before was rough. He was a stray that came in with puncture wounds to his legs, a scabbed over chin, ear mites, and an upper respiratory infection. We wanted to incorporate some wet food into his diet. We prefer to feed him grain free and made sure there wasn't animal byproducts used as an ingredient, behold I and love and you. Ingredients were just what we were looking for and you can't go wrong with the variety pack price. He loves all three flavors and has been thriving since he came into our home.
I purchased this on a lark, as I have tried "healthier" cat foods before that were grain free and my cat wouldn't touch them. I decided to give it another try and to my surprise he woofed down the first can I gave him. Next can... same result. I don't know what the difference between this and other grain free brands is but my cat really loves this food. I've even noticed it smells much better than most cat foods, it smells like you know... actual food.
If you are looking for a healthier cat food that is grain free and actually affordable, I would give this a try!
LOVE this cat food & so does my fur baby! My poor little one has always had bad allergies & a sensitive stomach; but now also has a heart condition. As you can imagine I'm EXTREMELY picky & willing to do ANYTHING/spend anything on her & her health. I tried SOOO many kinds of food; INCLUDING some kinda *special* Organic "blah blah blah gold laced better than human food" (or least should've been for the price, LOL;)!!... stuff) from an All Natural Hipster Store which made her sicker than ANYTHING!:(-TRULY AWFUL). Other brands seemed like she could eat for awile but would eventually start making her sick... NOT w/ this brand though! She LOVES ALL the flavors (BEGS/DEMANDS 4 it exactly on schedule daily, lol!--doesn't even care about the meds hidden inside she eats it so fast, LOL!!). Daily routine: Eats on specific schedule; Plays like a maniac right after; then takes a nap!. She's a happy happy kitty:) Has NEVER, EVER upset her stomach. I'll NEVER change her food again & now make sure we buy plenty in advance to avoid running out. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Excellent quality especially for the price!! Nice to have @ least 1 affordable thing out of all the "special" things my little fur face needs:)

Our 16 year old cat adores this food and so do we. Unlike a lot of crummy cat food that turns rancid if left in the bowl overnight, this does't become putrid...I can only imagine it acts in much the same way inside the cat. Our old gal has suffered from FUS for years - she's the living embodiment of 9 lives - and can only handle grain free food. These small cans work well since she can't eat everything in one sitting. In between we also use dry kibble since she cannot stand to have an empty food bowl. The flavor must be good as it has really helped her appetite - zero GI distress. Very pleased!
My cat loves this canned food! She is really picky about canned food and will only eat one or two kinds (and it must be mixed with hot water into a paste...cats!). She is not picky about dry food and has been eating the exact same dry food for 5 years. But, there is only 1 or 2 canned foods she will eat. It is expensive, but worth it if she was it.
We have three cats (Lucas, Piper, and Mr. Spock) and they all love the Whascally Wabbit. For several years we've fed them Fancy Feast. I know not the best food but it was the only thing they could eat without throwing up. Someone suggested grain free with no meat by products and that has helped a great deal. Not sure we can keep it up cause we are going broke feeding them.
I'm curious if anyone has noticed their cats drinking a great deal of water after eating this food? When I feed them other food they don't but with this food all three of them drink a lot of water after eating. Even Mr. Spock drinks and I rarely see him drink water. I've fed them Nutro and watched them intently and they barely drank if at all. But after giving them the wet Whascally Wabbit, all three drank and drank a great deal... Lucas drank the most.
I received my order on 3/6/18 and served it to my cat's for dinner. This time they each got a whole can to themselves. When I purchase 6 oz cans of food I usually divide it in fourths. 1/4 for each cat for 2 days. This is in addition to the dry kibble that they also eat. If I have enough supply on hand they will get wet food every day.
My male tabby (Winston) seems to like it.and scarfed it up. My female RagDoll (Natalie) is still hiding. I am hoping that she will like it too.
Winston was mewing impatiently while I prepared his bowl of food. I add water to the food because it is chunky and he tends to eat it up and out of the bowl. The water stabilizes the food so that it stays in the bowl and he still gets to enjoy it and the added moisture is good for him. I also prepared a bowl of food the same way for Natalie but she has not eaten it yet. She is a light eater so I am hoping that it will not be all dried up in the morning. I hate it when she wastes the food like that.
I purchased the pouch variety pack from another retailer a couple weeks ago. I do not like that particular packaging because the food gets stuck in the creases at the bottom of the pouch and it is a bugger to get out. Plus, that particular variety is mostly gravy with very little actual food in it and it seems expensive for what you get.
Anyway I recommend this food for your cats.
This is hands down, my cat's favorite canned food!
I've got a picky eater who I can never quite figure out. She'll even stop eating foods she seemed to loved before and there's no rhyme or reason for which foods are hits and which aren't. Needless to say when I first saw this brand come to Amazon, I was hesitant. My mother sent some she picked up at a local store as a present though, and boy was I surprised! Even when my cat loves a can she often will leave at least a little in her dish that she never eats. But with I and Love and You, that is never the case!
My girl generally loves fish and the flavor my mom had sent was the Oh My Cod. So first I was feeding just that. Branched out to the chicken and same thing, she loved it! At that point I ordered my first variety pack here on Amazon. I prefer to buy variety packs in general because one way I minimize both wasted cans when she refused a food or flavor as well as seem to keep her happier, is by continually switching it up. Many brands don't sell variety packs either so I love that I and Love and You does. Extra props to them for the types of flavors they combine. My girl doesn't seem to care for beef so I was happy to see that wasn't included.
That said, I was still wondering how the Turkey would go over. Can't go wrong with fish and she goes back and forth on chicken. But turkey has, in the past, been a flavor she didn't seem to care for. But wouldn't you know it, she loved the turkey too! In fact, the first can I fed of it she ate faster than usual. So we are batting ten for ten here. There is not another variety pack or brand where she consistently loves every flavor included so consider me wowed!
My little house panther also has a sensitive stomach. I didn't feel canned food for a long time and then not very often because she would throw up a lot from it. Then she ended up having kidney issues so it is now a daily part of her diet. I have never yet been able to narrow down the source and we still run into issues now and then. One thing that does seem to be a factor is quality. Cheaper foods definitely make her sick more often. Yet it can also be very difficult to navigate the pet nutrition world and much like in the woeld of human nutrition, pseudoscience and trend foods pop up. I can't tell you if I and Love and You is the best you can buy by any means. Perhaps not. But she's never gotten sick on it. I still feed a variety of brands and figure that helps mitigate any potential nutritional issues on one brand over another and keeps her interested. But I and Love and You has remained her absolute favorite and I always feel like I'm giving her a special treat when I feed it to her. The price is right also, lower price for a quality grain free, meat first food, but not so low I'm skeptical. So both my wallet and my Kitty's tummy are happy!
If you've been debating giving this a try, do it! Neither I nor my cat can claim to speak for all felines but it's not only approved by this finicky feline, but favored. I think that's really saying something. The price is great. Quality is consistently good can after can (something that can't always bee said). And I'm feeding my girl something that's good for her yet feels like a treat because she loves it so much. That's a win-win and it's such a relief to have found this brand!
