I like it, but I don’t like it. When I first installed my ring pro, it worked fine the first couple days. I had strong WiFi and good voltage. Low and behold, a couple days later, it wouldn’t even connect anymore. It kept saying my WiFi was too slow and it brought me to some troubleshooting page that conveniently advertises this extender. Go figure huh? Well I got suckered into buying the extender and my ring pro now works like it’s supposed to. It’s almost as if they did it on purpose to make you buy their extender.
I live in a historic home with thick walls that impeded the WiFi signal from my router to my new Ring 2 doorbell, thus the video feature was nonexistent. I was ready to give up and return the Ring 2 doorbell, but decided to give the Ring Chime Pro WiFi booster a try first. I plugged it in about halfway between the router and Ring and it fixed the problem immediately by effectively boosting the signal. The video feature now works great. Installation was simple. Amazon's free same-day shipping was an added benefit. Great product!
Bought 2 RING doorbells for front and back doors. Have Ultimate hi-speed Wifi Internet. Hired tech to install devices. He did not get the 2-way to work.. we could hear outside, but they could not hear us. So bought RING Pro Wifi extender. Installed it and still do not have it working properly despite its location close to router and in open area between both doorbells. Still working on getting the backdoor RING to pick up signaling. The concept is great but need patience to tweak it until it works properly. 800# did not resolve issue. Still trying to figure out why the router is not communicating with the second door device? (Still working on it with RING Customer Service. Will update results on Amazon.)
I first purchased a Ring Door bell as a group project with two other friends, we all purchased a Ring Door Bell on the same day. I installed mine in the back door where we have most of the traffic. The install was super easy. I was so impressed I purchased another one for the Front Door, yesterday I went ahead and purchased a third Ring Door Bell for my side door. I also purchased the Chime with Wi-Fi extender... all worked as promised with Super Easy Installation. I now have 75% of my home covered with Ring products. In the Future I will install the Ring Camera with Flood lights on the last 25% of the home where we don't have a door. Great Products, great APP, everything worked as promised.
I bought this due to ongoing video quality issues with my Ring door bell. Previously, I had issues with freezing frames or tears in the video due to poor signal strength. I had thought that this was due to other electronics that were interfering with the signal, but with those gone now and the issues persisting, I decided that further action was necessary.
Upon checking the device health, I noticed that the signal strength was RSSI-66, which per the Ring app meant that I was likely to have the issues that I was having (per the app the scale is 0 to -99, with 0 being a signal with no interference and -99 being the worst interference possible). The suggested fix for this per the app was to buy the Ring Chime Pro with the wifi extender.
Once purchased and installed the RSSI went from -66 to -44, which is a 33.3% improvement. Per the app, that means that there was minimal interference. In terms of the video quality issues, they all appear to have been resolved.
As for the star rating, I subtracted one star due to the high cost of a relatively easy fix and due to the fact that given the close proximity of the extender to the ring doorbell, I had expected a more significant improvement in signal quality.

As promised WiFi that I couldn’t get outside my Garge door in my car (Blocked by Concrete and long walls) now works and my Ring Doorbell no longer complains about poor network connectivity.
Super easy to set up. A few Chimes to select.

The Ring chime is the perfect companion to the Ring video doorbell. Setting up the chime is very easy and user friendly. Simply plug the chime in and follow the on screen instructions in the Ring app. The instructions are thorough and have pictures. There is even a link to press if you are having problems with setup. It took about five minutes to install on an existing Ring account. The sound of the chime is nice and clear and the volume and ringtone are adjustable from the app. It also serves as a WiFi extender if needed. This was a good addition for us as our original doorbell no longer worked and this was an excellent solution!
Although it definitely deserves a 5 and it works amazing there is sometimes when the video is a little choppy even with the chime pro. Also I don't like that when I try to answer the door from my phone it takes so long from when I get the alert that someone is at the door to actually connect to the camera and speak to my visitors. I wish it could go directly from the notification to opening the video connection.
Saw the device and was intiigued by the concept. Installation, thanks to an Internet video was very easy. HINT: download and install the app first. Also record the WiFi password. After the setup was completed I got a weak WiFi message. Then the connection started failing. That’s when I cursed the guy that installed the router in the basement. It took buying the Ring extender to get a decent connection.
Originally, I had both the doorbell and motion alerts set up. I discovered that the wind in a tree, a school bus driving by and trucks all triggered a motion alert. Given this, I turned the motion off. That came back to bite me tonight. My wife saw two men at the door. After I got rid of them, I watched that ring video. For some reason, one of them knocked softly. Then they hung around. One did seem to notice seemed notice the doorbell but they never pushed it.
Overall a good system. The camera is vey good and works well in low light conditions.
Likes: Easy set-up, Good sound.
Dislikes: Would not stay connected to my network, Did not enhance the signal strength.
I tried this product for a few weeks. While using the extender the door bell was very unreliable. The door bell seems to have a much more powerful wi-fi on it own. I wanted a interior door bell to go with my Ring door bell and thought I would enhance the system with the added extender. Without the extender my Ring device health was 51 after adding the extender the health went to 61 (Lower the better). I contacted Amazon and they allowed me return the product without question. Great experience. Have purchased the less expensive interior door bell since and it works great.
