Ok, I have most of all the electronic pens available on the market. This one is special for two reasons. Number one it is a Bluetooth device that does not require a Bluetooth connection to be used. I happen to be typing this review with the pencil in one hand while using my thumb on my other hand. Combined with Fifty-Three's software app called Paper (which is free), when connected to Bluetooth the pencil has magnificent features every artist could ever want. To me, it's like having fifty-three different types of pens, pencils, paintbrushes, a an awesome color palette that can be mixed to your heart's every artistic desire. The other reason I love this pencil is because my father was a carpenter and used the pencil this is modeled after. He is passed on, but working with this pencil brings back warm memories of him as he used his pencil with his work. I cannot recall a day he was not holding one in his hand, or tucked behind his ear. Now, I use one for my art. I am not a professional artist by any stretch, but this pencil can really help someone learn the basics of art without all the mess. It has brought art back into my life after a long hiatus. If you are not sure about this pencil, please know my review is much longer than other products I have purchased here at Amazon. I took the time because I know how I felt when I was shopping for another digital art tool. Out of all, this is my absolute favorite. Easy to use, extremely comfortable in my hand (ergonomic), and keeps a charge for quite a long time. But again, if you are not needing to use the features of the Paper app, no charge is necessary. Finally, I have attached a piece of art I did with this pencil, to give you an idea on what can be done. Keep in mind, I am an amateur artist. I hope you are as happy with this product as I am. Enjoy!
So far, I love Pencil!! I had a few hiccups when first pairing it with Paper (it is very easy to pair), and I accidentally pulled the tip off, leaving the battery kit stuck inside. Careless of me, and I wrote to 53 support to tell them the stupid thing I did. Jason replied quickly and told me how to remove the battery when there's no tip attached to pull it out with: If it happens to you, just grasp Pencil in one hand, pointed down at a writing angle, and with your other hand, karate-chop or smack it several times until the battery slides out. Now you can reattach your tip the proper way. Great support from Jason at Fifty-Three! Now I just need to learn how to master Pencil, and draw! I'll try to remember to update this once I actually use it for a decent amount of time. Meanwhile, it's been working very well on Paper, and on the few other compatible apps I've tried it with.
Little bit of a backstory.
I had always used the Note series when I upgraded phones - the stylus worked fantastically for what I used the phone for- mostly art. Then, of course, the incident with the Note 7 came about and I obviously wasn't able to get that. Being a bit burned by that fact [all the puns intended], I decided to do my own little boycott at the thought of the Note series ending by switching to the iPhone 7 Plus.
After going through multiple styluses to test with the phone, I finally found this one worked the best. No lag, connects with a tough of a button, and it's completely pressure sensitive. And the fact I can flip it to erase helps a lot. Easy to hold- just like a pencil. And, it works with most apps I've found.
The only one I've noticed it can't connect with being MediBang, which I do hope that happens in the future.
tl;dr:
Great Stylus. 10/10 Will use for a while.
I don't really know what I was expecting with this stylus but it's amazing! It's a lot easier to hold than my stilo stylus and it doesn't look shakey when I write or draw. Unfortunately I had to replace both the eraser and the tip because it just stopped reading on my iPad and that was frustrating that I had to use the extra tips right off the bat. Other than that, it blends nicely, I really like using art set (sorry paper) and created this skull guy thing but hey he's pretty cool. That's another app you can add to your list of apps that work! I would give it 5 stars if you would add palm rejection to art set and if the set of tips that came on the pencil worked! That would be great
Ok, I'm a well known drawer at my school, and my interest is making up characters and drawing them, but I've never considered digital drawing! When I got my stylus, I got the gold one, and I used my iPad way more often. I also bought the hermit shell case, and that is the hardest case ever! I've dropped that thing at least 100 times!! 😂 Here's a tip: if you get this stylus, you can get its app, Paper By 53. Or, go to google, and search up " apps that are compatible with paper by 53 stylus " it will give you a list of all the apps you can connect the stylus to. I use a free app called Sketches. If your looking for a digital stylus, Paper By 53 Pencil is the one!! ;) I have a picture of my regular drawings too so you can see how much I love it

Awesome product. I bought this as an alternate to apple pencil and this is doing the exact job apple pencil is intended to do. So far I love the product and feel this is a good buy.
This is an nice product but what I like about it best is the customer service. I had an issue with the tip not working properly and I left them an email telling so. With in a few hours I had a response to trouble shot my problem and they replaced the tip. So I am giving them 5 stars for great service and a good product. Thank you 53
It works perfectly, but if you are sensitive to subtle currents, you will feel subtle, irritating voltage from the battery in your hand, arm, neck and head. I cannot use the pencil for this reason.
We purchased this for our daughter since she loves drawing on her mini iPad. She loves this, and it was extremely easy to set up and get started with. I believe she would definitely recommend this.
I dig this stylus. I use it for Adobe sketch for ipad, the Fifty-Three app. It really needs some firmer tips though. It does not work well for just a stylus but great for the apps with brush strokes, ink stroke, pressure. But again the tip is just so flexible. I spoke to the company and they are designing new tips that are firmer. These ones wear out fairly quickly. Really fun to draw with especially as an artist using charcoal, conte, graphite objects etc.... watercolors awesome. I liked it so much I bought one for my daughter.
