I just got my box of No Cow protein bars in the mails. OMG, I love them. I am not a vegan, but have a difficult time with dairy (whey and casein) and egg. I also refuse to eat crappy isolated soy protein, and I eat mostly gluten/grain-free. So when looking for a protein bar with lower carbs, high fiber and a generous amount of protein, there aren't many good choices. I've tried a few -- Julian Bakery's Paleo bars, for instance, taste weird. And others that would otherwise fit the bill have too much sugar in various forms and not enough fiber. The only ingredient that's kind of weird is the "natural flavors" (I encourage the manufacturers to replace the natural flavors with basic vanilla extract), otherwise I am quite happy with the ingredients. And these really do taste good.

I discovered these about a year ago when the Quest bars started to cause stomach issues. I like the story behind the founder, that they're dairy free and, for the most part, are almost nutritionally identical to Quest bars. My favorite is the Mint Chip which has a great balanced chocolate/mint flavor and has a more "fudgey" texture than any of the others, followed by the Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip and the Raspberry Truffle. Personally, I like them and their texture--the cacoa nubs adds a nice crunch to offset the softness of the bar. That said, some people maybe put off they the flavor and/or texture. If you're looking for a bar that is vegan (or dairy free) these are worth a try.

I travel a lot and order these when I leave to China. I'm vegan and there's practically no food for me to eat over there especially since I don't speak the language only, "Im happy", "How are you?" etc. Soooo having these in my bag saves me for my usual 10 day trips for meetings. Thank you for these. The mint is just the right amount. I love the taste and will continue to order. I have tried all of the flavors and this one is the best in my opinion.

I have been a dedicated No Cow fan from the beginning. I get multiple boxes auto-shipped each month. This Vanilla Caramel is my new number one favorite! It is so amazingly good, and the perfect nutritional balance I'm looking for. I am allergic to everything, so these bars have been a lifesaver. It is so great to feel like you are getting a treat when really you are eating healthy! Can't recommend these highly enough!!

I love the amount of protein w/so little calories! Tons of fiber which I have enough of in my diet, but for others they may need it. I have tried a few other vegan protein bars and it's like eating cardboard, then it feels like it's sitting in my stomach like a rock. This is easy to digest. I survived college eating a soy protein chocolate mint bar a long time ago and it reminds me of that flavor-and it's great to not have a different source of protein since I am a stereotypical tofu lover.

Description

One of the great duos of all time: cacao and mint. We paired them up with 20g of protein and just 1g sugar, so you’re getting a lot of chocolaty flavor without giving up on your goals.

While these things are delicious its all plant protein, after several months eating these things I noticed significant weight gain FAT and very little else. After coming off of them and switching to a Whey source for my protein making sure they didnt slam soy into the product for some cheap protein I am noticing more gains and less fat gains.

Just what I was looking for in a protein bar. I can't eat dairy products and I try to avoid soy products so these bars fit the bill for me. I also like how these don't have any flax seeds which tend to be present in a lot of vegan protein bars.

Most other vegan protein bars have only 12-14g of protein and have quite a bit of sugar and fat as well; they are more candy bars than they are protein bars.

The pea + brown rice protein blend is excellent since they are complementary to each other in their amino acid profiles. These bars have a mild taste to them, they are sweet but don't leave a sweet aftertaste like a candy bar would, and the chocolate has a slight bitterness that goes well with the mint flavor.

I have a love hate relationship with these bars. The taste/texture is an acquired taste and they need to be half the size. At the same time I find myself going back to them. The fiber keeps you full and they are just sweet enough.

Best minty flavor I have had in a protein bar. I wish they were chocolate chips instead of cacao nibs because I dislike their texture, but the macros and low sugar on these cannot be beat. I have tried all the flavors, but the mint is my favorite. Lemon meringue is also very good. Sweeter than tart, but yummy.

Not for the faint of heart. This bar is not sweet. It takes a little while to chew. However, it has a nice clean taste. A nice cocoa taste. I think people that are exceptionally healthy and appreciate excellent ingredients will enjoy this bar. I think people that want a relatively healthy vegan protein bar will enjoy the flavor of other bars.
