Nanit Smart Baby Monitor and Wall Mount - Camera with HD Video & Audio, Sleep Tracking, Night Vision, Temperature & Humidity Sensors, and Nightlight

We love the Nanit Baby Monitor thus far. My wife and I are first time parents and we spent a lot of time searching for the right monitor to keep an eye on our little one. Beyond the HD video and audio, what drew us to Nanit was the intelligence built into the product experience. It is clear that a lot of thought went into the App Design - it is very intuitive and easy to use. The dashboard tracks several things including time asleep and sleep efficiency and I have found the data to be very accurate thus far. I am a Smart Home guru and must say this product really does deliver exactly how it is described. The video quality is substantially better than my current 1080P connected cameras that I have in my home and the product has a very slick design and installation was very easy. I also love how the camera sits directly above the crib for a full and complete view of the crib. Thanks Nanit for making a great product and giving us new parents a lot of comfort - we would definitely recommend it.

My wife and I were a little skeptical at first, but after a few weeks of using this thing, we're really happy we went with the Nanit monitor. Setup is a breeze and the sleep tracking is cool, but it got immensely more useful when they introduced sleep tips. Our daughter wasn't the best sleeper in the world, but after we started following Nanit's advice, things started to improve in just a couple of weeks. That extra sleep (for the three of us) makes this worth every penny!

I was hesitant spending so much money on a camera, but when our little one went from passing out easily to requiring marathon soothing sessions, this exhausted parent was ready to give it a try. And we're super happy with it!

Pros:
- The overhead view: We see the entire crib and weather his eyes are open. We had another camera first that only looked on from the side, and if he turned away - no clue if he was awake or asleep!
- The recap: Now that baby's sleeping a bit longer at a time, it;s quite valuable that there's a recap ("nightly recap") which helps us learn/ experiment with his sleeping preferences to optimize for as much sleep as possible (!)
- The night light: It doesn't shine on the baby which is key when you're trying to create a "it's time to sleep soundly" vs. a "it's time to bask in the light and smile" vibe
- Background audio: I spend almost all other time on the phone on Facebook sleep groups or reading Kindle books - but you get background audio no matter what. That means we can keep the doors to his room closed (to not wake him up) without missing out on his little sounds nor on being able to use my phone.

Cons:
- I thought at first that I'd want a separate screen, but I set up an old ipad with the app, so I don't even have to always use my phone, and it works for other caregivers that way, too.

I'm thinking that optimizing our baby's sleep is going to be important for the next few years (omg), not just for our sanity, but also for his brain development. That in my mind justifies buying this excellent, specialized camera absolutely!

I'll keep it reasonably short and sweet. I'm a tech junkie. I love my Nest Hello and Thermostat, countless Apple devices, Nintendo Switch, DJI drone, GoPro Hero and anything that's built well with an intuitive interface. Forget all the subscription features that the Nanit offers (which are rad) and here's the breakdown...

Setup was simple and design is super clean
Video quality is incredible
Sound + Motion push Notifications are killer if you don't want to monitor audio constantly
If you prefer to monitor audio you are able to have it live stream even when the app is minimized or the screen is locked
There is a soft glowing night light that you can activate from the app so you aren't scrambling in the dark

I tried the Cocoon and honestly that thing should cost $30. It ships with an ethernet cable that you have to plug into your router/switch in order to setup the Wifi .... What??? Oh and it didn't work, and the camera shot was upside down in the app and I couldn't figure out how to adjust it without physically rotating the camera. Returned.

We were gifted the incredibly popular Infant Optics DXR-8 which would be an amazing piece of hardware .... if it was 1999. Signal frequently drops out depending on where you are located and I literally was tempted to wrap aluminum foil around the antenna to help "boost" the signal. If you want to spend $165 and carry a separate monitor around which has the resolution of a VHS tape than look no further!

If you are looking for an intuitive app, excellent feature set, high quality camera and all the best that 2018 has to offer then Nanit is the cam for you. Yes it is more expensive but you get what you pay for (sorry cheap skates, it's true)

If you are the type of person that has to have the "best" then you will be stoked!

PROS: High quality video, great night vision, monitors temp/humidity, easy to set up the app/quick to install the hardware, intelligent insights (worth signing up for), nice user experience

CONS: The summary wasn't captured at first because I didn't have it positioned to cover the entire crib in view (since fixed), no iPad app yet (customer support promises it's coming soon though)

I love my Nanit! First off, the picture quality is amazing and the background sound feature on the Nanit app is pretty clutch. Even when your phone is locked, or in another app, you can have the sound on for the monitor.

VS other baby monitors: better picture quality, access to the feed when away from home, notifications of motion and sound (can be calibrated for desired sensitivity), time lapse highlights of all activities, all videos of sound and motion history saved, helpful tips, nightlight if you need it, to name a few.

Only downside to speak of is the WiFi signal. I did end up having to purchase a WiFi extender but my router is in my basement on the west side of my house and the baby’s room is 2nd floor, on the east side.

I dont have enough good things to say about the nanit. It impressed me as soon as I opened the box and has not let me down since. They truly thought of everything when making this unit and I cant wait to see what else they come out with.

Worth every penny!!
When it comes to video baby monitors, this one takes the cake. I’ve tried several (with my other kids), but the camera was always grainy or the sound muffled. Not Nanit. It also works if my internet goes out b/c they are still on the network and connected to our router. Wish they had been around when my first two were born! Awesome quality, fantastic sleep analytics, amazing features.

Nanit is the baby monitor we never knew we needed! And now – we are obsessed. We registered for the AngelCare monitor after doing a ton of research on monitors - and had been struggling w/ it for months for all sorts of reasons. A friend recommended the Nanit and we decided to try it. Most notably, the video clarity and audio is second to none. So crystal clear and a massive improvement from all other monitors we have seen in stores and tried ourselves. Works perfectly on our iPhones - and like that you can set the audio to work in the background if you don’t need the video all the time (like at night!).

The daily summaries are really insightful to look at. You can ACCURATELY see when your baby woke up, how long they stayed up and how many times you visited their crib. I stress the word accurately b/c we thought we remembered correctly in the AM after a disrupted night sleep, but def. not the case :-) Our daughter was 6 months when we started using it – and she still wasn’t sleeping through the night entirely. After just 3 days we started addressing some of the patterns we were noticing and then implemented even more tips when we received our 1 week insight email from Nanit. Its amazing that even the small changes have made a difference – and within a month – she is sleeping 9-10 hours on average. Would def. recommend to any parent. My only regret is that we didn’t use Nanit from Day 1.

I have nothing but good things to say about this. Set up was easy. App is great and easy to use. Picture is so clear, I can see my baby breathing. Love all the features available. Definitely relieves anxiety about baby at night. You can check up on them whenever you want without disturbing them. I would recommend getting a WiFi extender if you WiFi is a little weak in the baby’s room. At first it was weak for when we set it up but we plugged in a WiFi extender and paired it with that and it did the trick. Works great, worth the money, highly recommend.
