I spent yesterday at Walt Disney World in 90 degree heat. No, I'm not on vacation. I live here. If you've ever been here in summer you'll understand why I needed to find something -- ANYTHING! -- to help me just be able to run errands without getting heat stroke. After yesterday, I can tell you that these are exactly what I needed!
My hope was that these would maybe keep me a little cooler. Instead, I spent the whole day feeling like it was a delightful 75 outside. I frequently use a wheelchair, which means that my thighs spend the day in direct sunlight. I'm usually swimming in sweat within minutes, but instead I spent the whole day cool and comfortable. (In addition to these Mission pants, I was wearing a stay-cool top from Avia.)
I wasn't just comfortable because I was cool like a lovely Florida February day, but also because these are just plain COMFY! I'm 5' 10", and just over 200 lbs. For comparison, I wear a size 16 in most jeans or shorts. I thought there was no way the XL Mission pants were going to fit, because...well, c'mon. Of course they're not. Except they totally do. Not super compressiony-tight, either. They fit roughly like leggings or pantyhose, where they clung to my legs, but I could still grab a handful of fabric to yank them around and adjust them. They keep their shape so well that it's a little tricky to pull them back up after a potty stop, but it's worth the wiggle to avoid the dreaded stretched-out afternoon baggy-butt! The waist band was so super comfortable that I had no problem sitting my chair for hours in these.
Look, I'm not an athlete - except, I guess, to the extent that all disabled people are. I wanted these for temperature control, and while I got more than I could hope for that way, I also got comfort and freedom of motion that I didn't even know I was lacking. I loved these so much that I ordered six more pairs. These are my new summer go-to, and I strongly recommend that you give them a try for yourself.
These are well made and beautiful capris with great stretch (too much really) but during my whole workout I was pulling them up 'cause the bottoms kept sagging (I do HIIT and weights). According to the Chart I ordered a medium, and i obviously should've ordered a small. I'm 5'6", muscular build,140 pounds, 30" waist and 41" hips if that's helpful. Also, these were a bit tight on my calves which aren't super muscular, if i sized down to a small there's no doubt that they would be too tight. BUT if I can find a pair cheap (some on here are like $13) I'd get a small just to try it out. Overall, these are worth it if you can find a cheap pair but if you like your pants tight when you work out, order a size down.
I wasn't sure about how they would fit because I can be challenging to fit. I'm 5'5" and weigh 165# with relatively skinny legs and a bit extra back end. They are just the right amount of snug to stay put and still be comfortable. No gapping at my waist or at the legs. The little pocket at the waistband is perfect to fit my MP3 player for when I'm outside doing yardwork. They are a bit pricey but I'd buy them again because the quality is excellent.
