Kuhn Rikon Classic Snips, 8-Inch, Green

We use them as kitchen shears. They cut well. You can quarter a chicken with them. You have to squeeze reasonably hard, but it definitely is doable. The design is such that I don't think they will get loose the way a lot of kitchen shears do. Once shears get loose, even if they are sharp, they don't cut well. The reason they don't market these as kitchen shears is that they have a lot of nooks and crannies, so they are probably thinking that they are hard to clean in a good sanitary fashion. But we just stick them in the dishwasher and don't worry about it. So far they are holding up well in the dishwasher. The lock works well. It is easy to lock and unlock and never seems to get in the way. (Some shears have annoying locks that constantly get in the way).

These are wonderful kitchen all-purpose scissors. I also use them in the garden for cutting flowers and getting rid of unwanted blackberry vines that have grown to large size. My husband uses them for cutting his toenails that make normal scissors useless. I purchased four pairs of them to have around the house.

This is my second pair in only 5 years. Great shears for the kitchen! The hinged clasp is a fantastic feature. The pivot-point is a rivet, so disassembly for sharpening isn’t an option.
However, at this price, just pick up a new pair every couple of years!

I used these at a friend's house years ago and have never forgotten about them. They are amazing whether it's trimming fat from meat, cutting up veggies for salad, cutting up Herbs, etc. I can use these for literally anything food related. You could probably even cut carrots and celery with them without a knife. And since they self sharpening with every use, they never get dull! Totally worth the money.

These snips are great to open the almost impossible packing some products come in these days. Also, they act as a knife for my cousin with one hand. I haven't had to cut his food for him since he discovered my snips. Now he has his own and mine are safely back in my kitchen drawer.

Description

Kuhn Rikon, Classic Snips 8" (green), Swiss design, color and style combined with high-quality, ultra-sharp steel. Playful, practical and wildly popular.

This is by far the BEST kitchen snips. It is so easy on your grip to cut chicken. love it! Plan to get more for other purpose. ;)

I WILL NOT be without these all over the house - they stay sharp, open ANYTHING, are easy to use with arthritis (don't make your hands cramp up), and come in lots of nice colors.

Like I said, just a great pair of scissors! I have several in my house, garage, work shop and gardening area. They will cut things that ordinary scissors will balk at. Save yourself some pain and anguish with ordinary scissors, buy a couple of these, you will love them !!!

Spring-loaded is better than blades that separate. Cuts very well. Size is perfect. High quality.

Read some nice reviews, here on Amazon, so I ordered this. Arrived today (thanks as always to Amazon's very prompt delivery practices). Haven't used this on any kitchen activities, but it does a really nice job on plastic blister packaging. I'll be keeping this down in the man cave for those kinds of purposes. They seem really well made with zero slop in the hinge, the spring snaps the snips wide open, they don't seem likely to rust or corrode, The stainless steel blades and the plastic handles will be easy to keep clean. Looking forward to keeping this around for many years. I will be tossing the scissors I bought a while back with the way too small thumb and finger holes that were always such a pain to use. A great tool to use around the house.
