BRO, do you even make cyanotype prints? on FABRIC? because if you do, and you're looking for pre-treated fabric, this brand is the one to go with.
It is my first foray into making cyanotype prints, so I've cut pieces of the fabric into fours ( so I'm not wasting full sheets for nonsense experiments) and tested out different arrangements. I have learned much already. Such as, don't do this on a windy or even breezy day if you're materials are light enough to be blown about, if it's paper or thin enough material that you're making a print with (for example; plant bits) weigh it down with a plate of glass from a picture frame or a transparency film weighted with rocks/clothespins/etc., another thing I learned is think about the angle at which the sun is hitting the fabric and the materials you have chosen. In other words, high noon is best, and other times of the day with sunshine work well, but think of how "fast" the sun is changing angle. You will end up with strange shadows and echoes of an image, or no image at all! As I've read, over exposure is better than under exposure, but over exposure can be just as frustrating if you're going at it the wrong way or trying to make intricate images with weird objects. This is getting long....I'm done. It's so fun and really exciting process, just might take awhile to fine tune the style and technique.
I took these to the mountains, and my teenage niece and nephew collected leaves and flowers from the woods to use. We had the greatest time! The product works great!
Great product! I'm having so much fun experimenting with these. They're easy to use, and I do them in my front yard and my 80 year old neighbor loved seeing the magic unfold as I ran it under water. Now he's collecting items for his sun print! A very fun thing to share. Just keep them in a dark place and open with haste. I've used 6 sheets and they've all been perfect. Love them and will def buy again.
I am very pleased with my purchase. The ones I've tried so far have come out beautiful. I have some learning to do on picking out the right photos for making negatives, but I will have fun learning the process. Would definitely order again
