I bought this for my 2014 Audi Q5, and it works very well. I installed the large metal plate on my iPhone 7 Plus (with the plastic protector), behind my Speck clear case. It all works very well. My only advice is to take your time when centering up the protective plastic and metal plate on your phone. I got in a hurry, and got mine a little crooked. It seems to be a high quality product to me.
One of the last great cell phone holders as newer cars are increasingly not including a CD player for you insert it in. I don’t like the vent holders as the tend to break the slats with the weight of the phone.
It’s nice and snug in the slot. Feels like the phone might fall off, but holds it in place. I have a iPhone XS Max and it stays there.
I wish it was raised a little as to not block the screen on the radio, but all in all I’m satisfied.
I’ve purchased beanbag holders and air vent holders. This one outshines them both. My phone is in a convenient location and it’s not blocking the air vent or my view of the road. All good, but it’s the magnet that is truly great. It’s strong enough that it actually pulls my phone from my fingers when I hold it within a half inch or so from the holder. Only thing I might point out is some CD slots may hold it snugger than others. We have two cars and the holder is not snuggly held in either CD slot, but it’s good enough that it doesn’t fall out. It fits better in my wife’s 2012 Ford Edge with factory sound than in my 2004 Corvette with an aftermarket Jenson system. Like I said, it’s good enough so it doesn’t fall out of the slot. That may not be true for other car CD players, but that hasubeen my experience.
I have a Galaxy S9+ and due to size considerations finding a good holding area in my car for the phone was difficult - especially if I want it to be accessible. For me the CD slot mounting has been perfect, because I don't have to block an AC vent (big deal in the desert southwest) or stick something to my dash. The other advantage off the CD slot mount is that I can move this between my two different cars without any trouble whatsoever. The magnet is really strong and has not allowed my phone to move. Overall I am really pleased with this product.
So convenient! Not an “eyesore”... I wanted something that wasn’t bulky looking in my Mercedes and I can still play a CD. I have an iPhone 7s with case, I think it’s heavy and this item holds it fine. I highly recommend this item before getting one that fits to a vent.

I LOVE my iOttie! I’ve used the niteize for almost a year and the attachment you put on your phone is strongly magnetized. It caused me to demagnetized my bank card a few times. With the iOttie the magnet is on the actual mount, not on your phone! It’s stron and you can also adjust the mount!!!! I’m so glad I found this!!!!

Very stable and perfect location for Lexus rx350. I have tried a few and this one is definitely well built. The magnet is strong enough for the phone never to move.
