My dog is 9 years old and has suffered every allergy imaginable. I have tried every kind of food, grain free, dairy free.. and still she had such great hair loss, she smelled terrible and we constantly were battling ear and eye infections. Some of the foods that seemed to work well she didn't care for and I went through several of the additives and vitamin supplements. I started her on the" I and love and you" dry about three months ago and just tried the raw last month. What a huge difference this makes. She loves it and is so much better. I do the dry beef version every day and then give her a treat of the raw once a day and its a miracle. My neighbors dog has been very sick and wont eat so I shared some of this food with her- the raw version and he loves it too. Finally a food that my dog can eat without any side effects and she likes it. Thank you so much.
I have a 14 year old Chug. (Half Pug - Half Chihuahua) His name is Mugsey. He was having old age issues, i.e. lethargic, overweight, etc., and my son convinced me to switch his diet to this food. He's been eating this food for the past several months, and the change in his energy, attitude, and weight is extraordinary. He lost all his extra weight, and is just so spunky again. Thank you for making such a fantastic food for dogs and cats. I love what it has done for my best friend.
Our lab mix seemed to allergic to everything, she was too itchy on other dry dog food. I ended up making her meals from scratch, but was time consuming to get her all the right nutrients. This product alleviated much of that stress and she's had no horrible reactions to it like vomiting or itching like she has with other dog foods.
We found that it's better to hydrate overnight, add a little warm/hot water to the already made mix to warm it up. In a pinch in only needs 15 mins to hydrate. However, waiting for it to hydrate is torture for my fur baby. She just sits and drools while she waits for the timer to go off.
I found that the smaller pieces settle to the bottom of the bag, and those small pieces seem to soak up the water and make a super thick meal. So the first meals would be soupy and the last meals thick. Not that my dog cares... She eats it all but is messy when it's soupy. Now I shake it up a bit before scooping out.
Also, the chart is just a guideline - my 50 lb dog became too skinny (as in ribs showing) following their chart. She needed about 50% more. She also seems to poop a lot with this formula.
Our puggle has always suffered from food allergies. We tried so many top rated limited ingredient foods with little to no success. She would throw up her food, have loose stools be constantly itching and chewing at her paws, she could not sit still--she was a mess. With Cytoplex shots we had some relief, but not entirely. With the switch to this food, she stopped all of the allergy symptoms I listed above. She feels good, no more vomiting, licking, scratching, etc. Life is back to where it should be for her. She loves this food and her life is back to how it should be!! Can't be happier. Highly recommend this!
I love this dog food, mostly because my diabetic dog loves this food! I tried the transition as directed, but she would nose around the old food, so I just gave up on that idea and gave her only this food after about 3 days. She is around 5 years old (as guessed by vets as she is a rescue) and while working to get her regulated on insulin, I have noticed her getting cataracts and have been very concerned about her losing her sight. We got into a roller coaster cycle with her glucose being either too high or too low. I am hoping a good quality, low glycemic carb diet will help resolve this roller coaster and slow down her loss of vision. I am waiting for another week to run another glucose curve on her, but with the no grain, low glycemic carbohydrate diet, I feel confident her glucose will be steadier throughout the day. I will write more as we move along with this food. She is a very picky eater. I have searched high and low in an effort to find her something she likes that is good for her. So far, so good. She gobbles it up and then pushes the dish around the room, working to get the last morsel.

Description
“Oh hey, Jeff! Thanks for coming to our barbecue! I’m just throwing some steaks on the grill right now,” said no coyote ever. Why? Because coyotes, wolves, and any other distant relative of our pal, the domesticated dog, never eat anything cooked or processed. They hunt and forage for their food, then eat it sans flame. Raw Raw Chick Boom Ba contains the same type of raw, natural ingredients that dogs were meant to eat and enjoy. And you didn’t have to go crossbow hunting in the woods for it. Add water, and boom! Full meal. Be prepared to get lots of high fives. In the leg. With a tail.
I have bought this twice and will continue to. I have two dogs and both enjoy this food.
Pros:
Everything you need for a well balanced meal (it even has Kelp for their teeth)
Not break-the-bank expensive given how little goes a long way
Ingredients, quality, flavor options
TMI but their poop looks very healthy and are easy to clean up (versus hard, difficult ones that other freeze-dried food make them have)
Can add A LOT of water to it so they stay hydrated
Cons:
Funny smell that lingers - not a "meat" smell but sort of like cooked veggies
Typical of freeze-dried food, you have to add warm water. I think it can work with cold but not as fast.
Leaves a crust on their food bowls that is difficult to scrub off (more than any other food I have tried)
One of my dogs is a very picky eater and she often will turn her nose up at it until she is very hungry
Both dogs tend to eat around the orange veggies (sweet potato? carrot?)
I think some flavors might have more meat than others - Turkey had big chunks of meat
I was sold food that was past the sell by date. The problem was resolved. The product itself is a great product! Both my dogs love it. I do mix it with their home made food. The only problem I have with this is the amount of water you have to add to it. The best way is to make some ahead of time and leave it in the fridge overnight for it to fully absorb the water. Other than that it’s great! 8/10 recommend. 1.5 lbs makes 10 lbs and 5.5 lbs makes 36lbs. That was not stated anywhere in the description.
I initially tried this food out because I felt like the dry dog food I was buying was not the best quality. I mix it half and half with the dry food to make it last longer. I'm still using the first bag I bought and it's been over a month. Overall, it's a great deal. My golden was having skin problems but that has completely cleared up over the past few weeks. I recommend getting an electric kettle to heat up water & easily pour it over dry food in a tupperware container so you can store leftovers in the frig. I add extra water so the liquid is almost like gravy. My dogs go insane when they see the container. Seriously! They just love it.
My dogs love this raw freeze dried food. Very healthy too. One of my dogs was having issues with diarrhea with other products, so I slowly changed over to this raw diet and the diarrhea is gone. He also now has a healthier coat from eating this food. Love it and only buy this product now for my two dogs.
Fantastic. I switched my dog from Honest Kitchen to this stuff. It definitely keeps my puppy hydrated. She LOVES this much more than her previous food. I like being able to identify what the hydrated pieces are, instead of the blended mush of Honest Kitchen.
