All of my friends have tablets. They would tell me all the time "you should get a tablet, it, will change your life". I would nod my head and think to myself, "unless those tablet go down to $50, I won't be buying anyone's tablet". I came across an e article that
said that Amazon was having a special on their new Fire Tablet. The price: $50.00 - I was sold.
My next step was to find a cover for my tablet. I do not believe in paying retail for anything if I can get away with it. I searched
and searched and searched, to no avail. The tablet covers I was finding did not have all the features I wanted, or they were just
too cheap looking.
I saw that Amazon was offering their Fire cover for $24.99. I must admit, this was a shock to my senses. I just could not see
handing over $25 bucks for something to cover an electronic device that I had just paid double times that amount for.
I did some more research, I mean it was exhaustive. Finally, I gave in. I purchased not one but two, my sister will be needing
one also.
I just received this cover today and let me tell you, it is a work of art. I kid you not. I chose the blue, it is a royal blue, very pretty.
I ordered the pink for my sister. It is actually a beautiful fuschia color. The case is very sleek and well made. It opens like a book. The left side easily folds to allow you to view your tablet in portrait or landscape view. The right side of the case actually holds you tablet securely. There are openings for the cameras and ports. When closed, it is about 1/2" inch in width. I am so impressed with this. The cool thing is that with the way it's made, it will last you a very long time. I consider it to be an investment purchase, along with my tablet. This cover is so worth $25. I thank Amazon for the marvelous job they did on this cover.
This is a perfect fit and as well-designed as it can be. I like it better than the alternative I was considering because it can stand either in portrait or landscape mode. I couldn't understand the negative comments about the stand/hinge not working right until I watched YouTube reviews and saw that numerous reviewers couldn't figure out the very simple operation of the folding triangle flap. It's really not that complicated and works fine. The cover is held very flat when closed and when open and folded all the way back, by magnets I guess. The whole case doesn't add much bulk to the device, being a perfect fit. The Fire 7 snaps in the bottom and the cover is snug and right-sized. Also, the back of the case is non-slip, unlike the Fire itself, so that's a plus. The one single thing that is not perfect about this is that it is not comfortable to hold in one hand by the sides with the cover on. Without it, I can hold it comfortably with one hand. With the cover, because there is a sort of 'hinge' created when the cover is folded back, it's a bit of an uncomfortable stretch to hold in one hand. I can grab it, pincer style, with one hand with the case, but I prefer to hold it the way you hold a phone -- by the sides. Now that I think of it, the other slight issue is the back camera is covered when the cover is open -- don't know why they didn't drill a hole in the cover. That would leave some of the glass exposed when the cover is closed, but would have been worth it, in my opinion, or they could have had a kind of optional punchout so users could decide. But definitely a solid and well-designed case tailor made for this unit.
I really like the feel and fit of this case for my Fire 7 tablet. It fits perfectly, and I like the magnetic cover for it. It folds back and snaps into place easily. It is not a bulky case at all, which I really like, and it keeps the sleek aesthetic of the black tablet. I like the fact that it has the flap that bends out, so you can stand it up on a table in both orientations (horizontal or vertical). However, as some reviewers have mentioned, the level of support you get from it varies. The one I received didn't fold out far enough or have enough play in the crease for it to be completely stable and not collapse at times. The crease was a bit too 'hard', and it would force the fold back to the original position. This made it to where the viewing angle was a little too straight up and down for my taste. I would have preferred it to be angled up towards my head a bit more. I originally purchased an incorrect case, the one for the Fire 7 HD, instead of just the Fire 7. When I put my 7 into it, it didn't fit appropriately, but I was still able to set it in there and fold it out to act as a stand. That case worked perfectly, and the fold had less resistance to allow for a better angle of view. Plus, it wasn't forcing the fold back to it's original position. So, I think the experience will be different with each and every case. Some may be a little more resistant to folding out, and you may have to work with it for a while to get it to work better, and some may be ready to go off the bat.
Ultimately, though, the case protects the tablet well, looks good, feels good, and does allow for using as a stand. I like it!
I just got this case and the Fire tablet yesterday. The case is sturdy and I like how the stand works. I ordered green and the color is pretty close to as pictured. The magnetic closure is nice in keeping the case flat. I just wish it also turned the Fire on and off, just something I'll have to get used to.
I bought this and a tempered glass screen protector about a week after buying my 7" Kindle Fire (non-HD). I felt like I was splurging a bit, spending half the $$ on a case and screen protector as the device costs, but I think both purchases were worth it.
There are a ton of cases out there for this device; I looked at a few, but this was the only one I bought and installed.
This case is "tangerine" (my wife calls it loud", but if you're a Tennessee or Texas fan, you can relate to how nice an orange color can be); I find it a pretty cool shade of orange: not obnoxious, but I can find my Kindle very quickly!
Easy installation; takes about five seconds.
If you buy a micro SD card for your Kindle, you will need to remove the case to install the card. There's another 15 seconds total. It really is that simple-easy.
I should also mention the case is very slim and doesn't add bulk to the device. A friend of mine has the same Kindle Fire and a different case; I like him, but that case is just horrid. This one is much better!
I would give the case five stars if it weren't so pricy; as it is, though, I really like the case. I would recommend it, if you don't mind paying a bit more.

I love the feel and color of this case! It fits great and is super sleek and lightweight. I also like that the color is a unique green that you don't see very often. In addition, the case fits snuggly and has a magnetic closure. My only complaint is that the folding portion used to prop up the kindle isn't the most stable and could use some reinforcement. Overall, great product though. It is not bulky but protects my kindle and keeps it clean in my purse. I would recommend this to all kindle fire users!
I don't understand the poor reviews on this case unless it's the fact that the case costs half the price of the tablet. I bought my case in Amazon's Warehouse Deals section for around $15 and couldn't be happier with it. I bought the tangerine, and it is a bright orange like orange soda. It is really an attractive case and does not look cheap.
A complaint that I've read pretty frequently is that it's difficult to get it to stand. Once in a great while, I might have to reposition mine a couple of times to get it stand in portrait or landscape positions, but overall, it stands well even on my lap. I think the key is to make sure the part of the stand that is nearest the tablet is securely pushed against it. I have an android tablet with the trifold type stand, and it is awful. This is far superior. Now, is it as nice as the Speck case for my iPad Mini 4? No, but it is very, very nice and attractive...fits like a dream.
Another complaint is that the cover doesn't have the auto on/off feature. In order for a case to have or need that, the tablet has to be configured for it, and the Amazon Fire 7" 2015 model is not.
The magnets that hold the cover shut or open are plenty strong, imo.
One thing that would be a possible detractor is that the case covers the microSD card slot.
I am glad I bought the branded case designed for this tablet!
For $50, you can't beat this, however, You can't expect it to be warp speed fast, but fast enough that you're not falling asleep. I love this tablet! My Mac computer crashed and I just needed something that I could watch shows on, order things quickly (hello Amazon!) and feel like I'm somewhat connected other than using my iPhone. I'm normally a strict Apple user, but I decided to give this one a go. The interface is really easy to understand, and it comes with the basic apps already loaded. The volume is actually really impressive. This was one thing I was worried about since it's so small, but it's really loud. The size is perfect for on the go and go throw into my purse/diaper bag. I bought the recommended Amazon case and it doesn't make it any bulkier. So far, I have used it for shopping purposes through Amazon and online shopping. The one place I went to was jcrew.com and it did give me a little trouble with flipping through some pictures, but it wasn't unmanageable. Honestly, I mostly bought it to watch Hulu and Netflix, which stream amazingly well (this might depend on your internet speed though). The camera is an ok camera. Pictures are a little grainy in some lighting, but it's overall not bad. It's impressive that there is a front facing camera as well! I have used it for a week now, and really love it. It's an electronic that I will rebuy whenever this one bites the dust :)
Well designed book cover type case. Easy to install the Fire 7and allows the tablet to be set vertically or horizontally for reading or viewing video. The material is pleasant to hold and is maintenance free. As will most book cover cases when the cover is folded to the back of the tablet the rear camera is blocked. And while if you install the case upsided down the speaker is covered it does allow a left-hander to open it in what for them is "normal" The only downside is the price which is really a bit high for a simple plastic case..Amazon Fire 7" (2015 release) Case - Slim Lightweight Standing Custom Fit Cover for Amazon Fire 7 Inch Tablet, Black
I got this for the new 2015 Fire, and it fits well, holding the device by gripping it the same way a simple phone case does, only this also has an attached cover held on by ~ 1/2" stretch of flexible plastic that acts like a hinge. The cutouts are exactly where they need to be for the camera and rear speaker, and the buttons and jack on top are readily available. The quality is decent but I definitely feel like it is overpriced for what it is. I got this one because I wanted to be able to stand the Kindle in either landscape or portrait mode, and this was the only case I saw that did that. It stands nicely when it is on a perfectly flat surface, but unlike some designs, the way this folds doesn't work at all to stand the thing up while you are recline unless you have a hard, level surface for it to sit on. So for reading in bed or watching movies on the couch, well, you'll either be holding the thing or finding a lap desk.
The top cover is just one flat piece of rubberized plastic, with the diagonal fold to make the stand, and the 'amazon' logo burned out at the bottom right. It snaps soundly to the back cover via a magnet at the top corner when you want to close it, and not quite as strongly but still securely when you open it and fold the cover completely back. It lays flat and is unobtrusive in either position. You can get a few degrees of angle adjustment out of either portrait or landscape stand by adjusting how tightly the cover is folded. All four corners and the outside edge of the bottom cover are hard plastic without the rubberized coating. The coating does improve the tactile friction, making it easier to hold. I'm not sure how well this would fare in a fall. It would provide some shock protection, but the screen on my last Kindle cracked without me ever even figuring out how it happened, and I've heard similar stories from others. I really wanted the shockproof kid's case, but passed on it since it had no stand.
I think I will like it OK, but given the not-great shockproofing and the can't-stand-it-up-on-a-non-flat-surface, would feel better about this purchase if it had been $5 or $10 less. I feel like I paid $15 for the case plus $10 because it has the amazon logo on it. I do like the orange color - it is rich and vibrant.
