Before I put this on, I could not hear any footstep. After turning it on, you can hear EVERYTHING!
Furthermore, it's also great to listen to the music. You can really hear high and low through this thing. Can not wait to try it on my home theater system!
I've got this awesome little gadget in October, and it has added a new dimension to my headphones. I tried it on a Sennheiser HD598 and a Klipsch X6i. Both work great. When compared to my original setup, a FiiO, I feel that generally the sound has more punch but in the mean time I can hear more detail in the music that I've not experienced with FiiO. I'm planning on getting one for the Holidays and I definitely look forward to hooking this up to a larger system to see how it performs. Also, in addition to the USB mode, it has a built-in, rechargeable battery so you can enjoy it on the go or even in a car (but for a more permanent set up, you'll need the USB as power source). Very easy to set up, and it comes with a nice carry bag. By the way, XPUMP has 2 modes--while I feel the Studio mode is pretty sufficient for my music use, those who play FPS games and action movie aficionado will definitely love the Cinema mode.
I was really surprised when I just received it and plugged it into my cheap PC speakers. The sound immediately turned into "3D", as if surround sounds. The immersive experience was just amazing! I like especially it has 2 modes that can be plugged to either headphone or speakers. I've tried it also on first person view games, and I can totally see how it 's suitable for gaming situations. Not only can I hear surround audio but the 3D effects just bring the game more into life (imagine now you can easily tell where the opponent's steps and bullets sounds comes from which direction! ). With the price of it and the effects it brings out, I'm very satisfied with it.
Running through this playlist on Apple Music, its streaming through iPhone ear buds, not any kind of audiophile setup, but I am enjoying the audio "mix" that the XPUMP provides. So far the orange level is better / best for all songs. It's just a simple bass boost like "Beats Audio" which I know lots of audiophiles sneer at, but it definitely is a "richer sound" for me and improves a simple / crappy audio setup, so I'm happy about this small gadget.
The upgrade of sound is noticeable and outstanding with external computer speakers. The device adds interesting flavors to music that I was already very familiar with. And I also test it with my VW Atlas audio and the effect is enormous and would never want to listen to the original audio system without this new device again. It extracts instrument sound then enhances it. Let me feel I am in karaoke with subwoofer and premium speakers!

I tried XPUMP with my headset for 2 days with my iPhone, most impressed thing is..it gives more detail about the sound. I think that XPUMP pull the vocal sound back, and the instrumental music is pushed to the front. The sound field is opened and become more widely just like u are listening in the theater. To me, it's a great experience! Amazing product !!!
I tried movies and music like most of you with my external Audio Engine, X-mini and Sony SRS-D5 2.1 speakers. The orange mode effects came out to be so amazing and really blew my mind. I can’t believe those sounds were coming out of my old speakers at all. I am very satisfied with the effect this tiny piece delivers to me.
I enjoy the "mix" effect that XPUMP provide. To me, I think the orange mode with the bass boosted is the best way for all songs. It definitely is a "richer sound" for me and improves a simple/crappy audio setup. Great experience!
Try it and WOW!!!!! The music from my iTunes sound great and fantastic especially those flac files. Together with my mini amp, for those movies sound effect (red color) ouch!!!! Marvellous😀😀😀
