Whole Life Pet Just One-Single Ingredient Freeze Dried Treats For Cats Pure Salmon Fillet, 1Oz

The Wholelife Salmon treats (whether marked as a dog treat or a cat treat) are all the same. just one ingredient: SALMON. Period. My cats all LOVE them (even beg for them).

UPDATE: This treat has been gradually coming with inferior product. The salmon pieces are thin and skin covered. Making them impossible to tear apart to give cats a smaller bite and there is no way I would give a cat the huge, tough skin covered pieces. I wind up throwing away a good 1/3 of the package! This product used to be great. nice thick pieces of salmon with minimal skin on the pices now it seems every piece you have to fight with the skin before giving it to your pet. I have approached the manufacturer twice about this and both times they have ignored me.

Ok, my kitty gives these two paws up & then some. She is one finicky kitty, so treats sometimes go unused or to our friends dog. Cat people know what we have to deal with. Sniff & snub! My kitty was watching me with the bag & knew something could be good, then her nose got going & CHOMP. I handed her one & she went nuts. Did not even have to break it up for her since some of the pieces are pretty big. But the pieces are of course soft since freeze dried. She had it gone in a flash looking at me with the "more please" eyes. Try to keep her away from the high calorie items, so was glad she went for these. Not the best smelling treats but fish is fish & kitty loves them. Yeah!

I have one cat that loves this product, the other cat could care less. The only negative comment I would have of this product would be the small amount of powder in the bottom of the packages, which I have deemed the result of being shipping and jostled about. Other than that I find this product to be a very good way to treat my cat. She will even come and ask for a treat when she remembers they exist, which is often. I have that the best way to feed it to her is to cut it up in smaller pieces. I take a serrated kitchen knife and slice a chunk into 1/8" slices and then cut those up into small to little cubes.

The thought of feeding the chunks full size doesn't set well with me because they are very dry and a cat who loves these treats will throw down a huge dry chunk.Just doesn't sound right to me. She does enjoy the treats in small pieces. She doesn't care for the fish version, hasn't had the turkey one yet and also loves the chicken version. When you slice the large chunks it works better if you find the 'grain of the meet', as you would with wood and slice with the grain texture. When cutting the slices into small to tiny cubes, you will slice against the grain of the flesh or meat. I hope this makes sense because it really works and makes the treat more enjoyable for your cat.

My only criticism of this product is the price but buying larger sizes you can bring the cost down per chunk. Also the product seems to have a good long shelf life but make sure you keep the air out of the package. I usually roll down the top several times and use two strong rubber bands to hold that fold in place, or a clothespin works great too. Just keep the air of the bag or the flavor of the product may be weakened, or altered slightly just enough to have your pet begin to dislike it. That happened to me once but there wasn't much product left.

My cat did not like these at first and neither did I. The smell of fish is overwhelming and they have a light airy styrofoam texture which is weird. The back of the package did say you could rehydrate them by placing them in water so I did that with a couple of pieces. After a few minutes they were firm pieces of fish fillet which looked perfectly normal and the cat finally ate. I wouldn't buy these again as I didn't like the smell and I don't want to be rehydrating the snacks every time I wanted to give the cat a snack.

06/30/15 Update to my previous review of 2 stars
I still dislike the smell but my cat now loves them without having to rehydrate. I decided to give them a second try as they're all natural and healthy. My cat isn't bothered anymore by the texture and it's nice to see her actually chewing her food as she usually swallows things whole. My cat would give them 5 stars but I can only give 4 due to the smell and powdery mess it leaves on your hand on where the treat lands.

It's very hard to find dried meat....just the meat. But that's what this is....salmon. My toy poodle loves it....shh, don't tell him it's for cats ;o)

He will not eat fresh fish so this gives him that variety. However if I let him have it every evening he will have soft poops. Just a warning!

I use this to help administer pills for my cat. My cat is on prednisone and I put the pill inside a "Lean Treat" brand soft treat, mold the treat around the pill then take this freeze dried salmon and crush some into a powder and roll the treat in the powder. It's like kitty crack. Works better than cat nip. My cat cries for this morning and night. I do not dare give him this outside of pill time for fear he'll realize the difference in taste and not take the pill again. I also buy the chicken and I break that apart and add water for an occasional meal. He loves this freeze dried brand.

our cats go wild for these. the pieces are kind of random sizes, and need to be broken down before they're given to cats (and sometimes there's long stringy bones the cats probably shouldn't ingest), but they're a favorite around here and worth the effort. we save the dust at the bottom of the bag for sprinkling on their canned food, too.

My cats HATE each other and the only time they tolerate each other's presence is when I bring out this bag of salmon treats they sit calmly together and eat their treats then go right back to hating each other. Two paws up!

What I love about this treat is that my kitty loves it! She will come to me and ask for it 5 times a day. Had to train her down to twice a day😉 I am please that it is 100% dried salmon. Best investment for our furry treasure 😻

These are my cats favorite treats. He knows where I keep them and stands staring at it and meowing untul I give him some. He gobbles them down like it was full of catnip. I spoil my cat and have tried many treats over the years but these are his favorite. I like the fact it is all salmon..no fillers or preservatives. Very healthy treat
