Fabulous, love it!!!
I purchased this dryer as well as the large washer that matches it because I needed a large capacity to wash and dry my king size quilts. The additional plus is that I can now double up my regular loads and get through my laundry day in less than half the time I previously spent. The dryer (as the washer) is wider and taller than standard machines. You need to be sure that the opening to your laundry area is at least 31 inches. Our laundry door had to come off as the opening was only 30 inches unless we removed the door. It took only a couple of minutes to remove it and then reinstall it.
The dryer has a huge capacity and dries my largest and heaviest quilts in less than 1.5 hours. That sounds like a lot but my previous Whirlpool took 3 to 4 hours to do the same task - plus I had to stop and move the quilt around several times during the dry cycle to make sure all the wet spots were exposed to heat. With this Samsung, I don't have to reconfigure the quilts at all. Just wait until they are dried and then fold them and put them away.
I am able to double and even triple load the dryer compared to my previous machine which saves time and money on electricity. I would have loved to have gotten the gas dryer but our current house is not set up for that.
While these machines are stackable and the dryer door opening can be changed, be sure you understand how tall this will be if you stack it. The dryer would be on the top and would be around seven feet off of the ground. I would do it in a new house if I needed to in order to have the capacity but I would also have to have a step ladder handy in order to set my dryer preferences.
I chose not to get the pedestals for these as it would make putting detergent in an uncomfortable exercise. I am 5'6" so if you are taller, that may not be an issue for you.
I like the steam features and have used them a couple of times to get wrinkles out. It is a nice feature to have but it does pretty much what putting in a damp washcloth did before. Nice to have but wasn't a necessary item in making my choice. I really think that capacity is what these are all about. If you want a lot of space these may be just the thing for you. The gray set is gorgeous and I would have purchased them if they went with house. As they did not, we went with the white (which is very pretty and high gloss) and saved extra money on the purchase. The dryer is essentially the same - the color of the body is gloss white and the color of the electrical panel is silver rather than dark gray.
I have this dryer and it is great. The capacity is simply huge, and it does a great job with the sensor drying. To the one who couldn't get the lint trap open, I'm not sure what your problem is. You put your thumb on one tab and your fingers on the other one, it opens easily.
It holds three times the usual amount of laundry. Very reliable. Owned mine for three years now. Problem free! Works great!
