no color variance to my blanket when I needed just these few more skeins. great purchase.
I LIKE THE YARN
I bought this yarn to knit a large triangle shawl and am in the middle of my project right now. The stripes are truly beautiful to behold, with about 11 color changes before the colors repeat themselves (dark to light to dark, etc.). The shades themselves remind me of the sandstone canyonlands of the U.S. southwest.
The yarn feels slightly thinner than 4 weight, due in part to its pigment saturation. Also, the yarn tends to separate if you're not careful with your stitches. Nevertheless, I have yet to encounter any tied ends or uneven areas of thickness. Despite not being as silky soft as other brands of yarn, for me it's a trade-off to having a garment that can be worn and washed regularly without looking fuzzy and worn out after a few weeks. If beautiful colors and function are what you're looking for, then you really cannot go wrong with this Red Heart yarn. Happy knitting.
