First soda ash I have ever had. The instructions on the package say 1 cup of soda ash per gallon. Remember that you can reuse the gallon forever. So, this is enough for a 5 gallon bucket for ever. Quality investment. Strong urine (urea) smell so you will want to put a lid on your bucket or use old milk jugs.
I highly recommend using the soda ash prior to tie dying your items. It's only effective when used with cotton however. The more cotton your material has, the more vibrant the colors will be when you use the soda ash prior to tie dying. The cotton items I tie-dyed turned out fantastic and I would definitely spend the extra money again.
This soda ash was well worth the money, I used it for tie dye, and it really helped make my colors pop. I used about a quarter of the bag per 3 gallons and it still worked great, soaked for two hours before dying then went to town.
I use this project for my tie dying projects. It works as expected, but is a bit pricey, purchasing through Amazon
