I've tried more brands of laundry detergent than I can remember. From Norwex and Seventh Generation to Tide and every brand that Costco sells, for us, Grab Green unscented powder outperforms the rest. It's perfume-free, which is great for my family's skin. It does not contain fillers, which is great for our septic tank. It's also an excellent value IMO. In my house, where we have well water and a non-HE top loading Kenmore, a "100-load" bag lasts about 8 wks or about 80 "extra large" loads. (For us, an "extra large" load is approx. 8 towels, 4 bath sheets, or 2 sets of king-size bed sheets). Despite my old machine, large load, and well water, the GG effectively removes stains and odors from normal laundry, gym clothes, dish towels, and outdoor heavy-duty work clothes (Carharts, etc.).
Update: It's December 2017 and GG is still the best I've tried. Since writing the review in June 2017, I have gone through three bags. That's one bag every two months for a small family that produces a large amount of laundry. We play sports, have pets, maintain a large garden and do outdoor work (e.g. chopping wood), and we only use cloth napkins and dishtowels in the kitchen and dining room.
Update: It's April 2019 and GG is still my favorite. I recently purchased Seventh Generation unscented liquid when it was on sale. I'll use it until I am through with it but, IMO it does not clean as effectively as the GG powder.
I have been using "natural detergent" for the past decade; I have tried everything and this one is the best.
Natural detergent is expensive and having to buy expensive natural softener on top of it was too much to bear. So I have been buying natural detergent with a built in softener, but there are not many to choose from out there and they don't do a good job of actually softening and freshening the clothes.
This one SOFTENS clothes AND leaves them smelling fresh. Other natural detergents either don't combat stinky man odor or they leave the clothes like wrinkled cardboard. Over the past ten years, I've used all the popular (and unpopular) brands of natural detergents and it's been a long run with rough and/or stinky clothes.
Grab green has changed my life, every sock and athletic uniform in my house smells like a fresh meadow. My laundry room even smells amazing!
Decided to try this because it is offered on Subscribe & Save after my old standby (Charlie's) was out of stock.
I personally prefer unscented products, but my husband loves the water lily sent, and I do not find it harsh or irritating -- though it is a strong and lasting scent. We can smell it through the house when I am washing laundry, and the smell stays on the clothing even after it has been in a drawer for a week or more.
My children have sensitive skin and often break out when if I use scented products, but so far they have not had any irritation from this detergent.
We have well water and I often struggle to get out tough stains, but have had more success with this detergent over many others. I am very pleased with the cleaning power, and will likely continue to purchase.
So far this is my all time favorite natural laundry soap. I seriously have tried them all! I have tried all the powders (Charlies, Nellies, 7th Gen., Country Save etc.) I have tried the liquids (7th gen, M. Myers) I used to use the mainstream detergents but thought it was really gross that my family wore clothes covered in chemicals. I like the smell of this detergent and I think it does a good job. No detergent alone is going to get chocolate, spag. sauce or grass stains out of the kids clothes when they have sat in the hamper for days. You need a stain remover. This does a decent job and did I mention I really like the scent! Please keep making this, I will soon need to order more. I will probably also order the unscented version too just to mix it up. One last note - Not one of my 3 sensitive kids have complained about itchiness or rashes - huge win!
This detergent smells fresh and is non toxic. My family has sensitive skin and we have loved this detergent. I like it better than comparable brands. I just recommended the Grab Green Water Lily scented detergent in a group for natural parenting because I like it so much. We buy it through subscribe and save and get it monthly. It has replaced my Seventh Generation laundry detergent. It seems to get clothes as clean, or cleaner, than comparable brands with clean ingredients and the smell is very light and fresh. I'm even using it for my newborn's clothes.

This detergent I always come back to. If you're not into scent it is not for you, but that is what I love about it. I always used pods but the new high efficiency washer wasn't breaking the pods down every wash. We had been using the Tide pods. So I started trying different liquids and powders and this one has always had me coming back. Cleans so well and has such a wonderful scent. I keep it in a glass jar in my laundry room and it smells so nice. It is strong but the clothes come out with just enough scent but not overpowering. I highly recommend trying this brand.
I ordered my first bag back in mid-September 2017 and am now finally ordering a replacement in mid-March 2018. I do laundry for just my husband and myself and we do about 4-6 loads per week I would estimate. The smell of this stuff is amazing and I we such a small amount each time I use it. It cleans the clothing so well and leaves everything smelling really fresh and nice. Five stars and this is now my go-to laundry detergent. Please try for yourself!
Great scent and long lasting product. I was a "pod" user for the longest time and by accident bought this detergent. I find that I do not have to use as much product to get clean clothes and the scent is very pleasing. It leaves no residue and really gets tough things out in the laundry. I have purchased again, I was that pleased with it!
Oh my goodness! If I don't complete this review it is because I have suffocated from the noxious smell half way through....I have used Natural detergents for about 13 years and tried most on the market. I so wanted to love this and it IS great for cleaning power, gets even my hubby's oily work clothes clean and the grass stains out of my son's clothing. My eldest daughter and my husband have very sensitive skin and there have been no reactions but our laundry room is down stairs and we can smell it UPSTAIRS. I was really excited to have a 'naturally' fragranced powder as I still miss a fresh smell -I grew up with European Persil and I can't seem to mix my essential oils to get a scent I love. It really does not smell natural at all: in fact my children noticed it smelled identical to the neighbors top selling brand detergent that is in an orange container (we can smell it when they tumble dry as their vent blows in to our front yard). It is so overpowering and so synthetic smelling - I honestly have never been so disappointed with a laundry detergent, even ones that don't wash well. I have cut this one with my unfragranced powder - 1/3 water lily to 1 unscented and it is still so strong. My children asked that I not wash their clothing in it as, and I quote, 'it stinks'. My very unfussy teenage daughter asked that I NEVER wash her bed sheets in it!! Shame, because it is not cheap.
8.26.16 I am editing my review to show 4 stars, as I have 'cut' the detergent with the GG Bleach Alternative, the GG unscented powder and this one, in a 3:1 ratio, and it is WONDERFUL! I store it in an airtight container so the odor is not overbearing. It cleans, brightens and softens and leaves a subtle scent that lasts for days even after being tumble dried - it is fantastic for sheets and towels. I did not think I would purchase again but in truth: I likely will as mixing the 3 makes a superior powder, although I may try the Gardenia scent first.
I like that they list the ingredients and its plant based. Seems to work well, the clothes smell good and look clean.
