Oh how do I sing the praises and count the ways I love this little lid???

• Do you have a 10" Pyrex glass bowl that you use all the time but end up covering it with saran wrap? Use this lid. It 'suctions' onto the bowl and seals PERFECTLY. No odors in the 'fridge, no air getting to food, it's amazing.

• Heat foods in the microwave and get angry when food 'explodes' and makes a mess you hate to clean? Use this lid. No mess, no splatters, and it's a breeze to wipe off.

• Like to fry bacon in your frying pan but don't like cleaning a splatter cover? Use this lid. It covers and eliminates spatters and cleans up with the swish of a soap pad.

• Used this for over a year with no stains, it's just as pliable and still seals like a champ.

This may not cure terminal illnesses or bring peace to the middle east, but I'm quite sure it can cure the common cold and halt the spread of contagious viral outbreaks. It's THAT good.

I bought this on Amazon after seeing this product line elsewhere at a higher price. Rather than just buying one piece to try it out, I bought nearly every size and shape available. I cook a lot, and get tired of using plastic wrap to cover things that don't have lids. This seemed like a good ideal, so I jumped right in. Spent a lot of money, and got a big box delivered to my door.

They do work as advertised. I frequently make cole slaw in a huge bowl that needs to sit in the refrigerator overnight before I transfer it to one-quart deli containers. I use the large round cover for this. Every few hours, when I stir the resting cole slow, I'm pleased that I can't just grab the handle and lift the lid. It does form an airtight seal, which I have to break by grabbing an edge that extends beyond the rim of the bowl. This is the one I've used the most, but I do use some of the others to cover things in the refrigerator. I have not yet used them on the stove or in the microwave, but that isn't really what I bought them for.

The only downside is storage. Many years ago, I broke myself of the habit of having drawers and cabinets cluttered with lids to pots and pans, Tupperware/Rubbermaid containers, etc. My pots are neatly hung on a stainless restaurant shelf, and the lids are standing up in the wire mesh in descending order by size, so I can easily see them and grab just the lid I need for the job. I don't keep a scrap of Tupperware or Rubbermaid around anymore. When I bought these silicone lids, I hadn't taken a minute to think how I'd store them. Obviously, they won't stand up no my wire shelving. Right now, they're in a jumbled pile on a shelf, until I come up with a better solution.

Silicone is an amazing material with my practical applications around the house. These lids are a good example, but their flexible nature makes it impossible to store them upright. If you're as fussy about organized storage as I am, you should take this into consideration.

We have an 11" T-fal WOK that did not come with a lid. This cover is perfect! It gives enough of a seal that steam does not escape, making meal preparation faster, in addition to locking in nutrients. We have also used to cover bowls in fridge. Save time, make salads ahead, add dressing just before meal. Highly recommend this lid.

These are fantastic! I've been using them for a couple months now. I wanted to be able to offer a thorough review. They are lightweight, unlike the ceramic mug toppers. They wash easily in the dishwasher. Additional features include a durable and unbreakable material, 1 lid covers a variety of different size mugs, an easy-to-grasp tab, a beautiful geometric pattern, and a variety of color choices. I am almost certain that they are BPA free. (I think I verified before purchase.) The only aspect that is even remotely negative is that the topper can collect condensation, which is unavoidable and certainly not a significant issue. I simply keep a paper towel by my coffee mug to catch any water droplets. I will definitely be buying more for myself and some as gifts.

I was looking for a lid to fit a 12" open skillet I recently purchased. I have something similar to this at home, but more flimsy (no texture). I liked that this seemed to have a bit more texture to it, and hoped that it would be sturdier so I didn't have to worry about it falling into the skillet. I tried it on the cold skillet when it arrived, and it JUST fits. It is slightly thinner than I expected, so still a bit floppy. The 12.5" measurement is at the very widest part of the cover - from point to point around the edges. It is about 12.25" at the narrowest part.

I tried it out on a 10" open skillet last night and it seemed to work fine. I wanted to see how flimsy it would get once some heat was applied to determine if it might work on my 12" skillet. It does become quite a bit more flexible when hot, so I do not think this will work with my 12" skillet. Once I try it out, I will come back to update this review.

Description

One part rocket scientist, and two parts supermodel, the GIR Lid Series turns any bowl into a storage container by making an airtight seal. An alternative to plastic wrap and foil, these lids are made from heavy-duty silicone heat resistant to 550 F. Reheat or steam food in the microwave/stove or bake with them in the oven. Aesthetically gorgeous, and totally functional. Freezer, fridge, and dishwasher safe.

I love these lids! There's a size and shape for every type of microwave-safe container.
Instead of using paper towels or wax paper to cover my food when heating (or reheating) in my microwave, I just plop one of these covers over the top of the container. The food heats up very quickly. In fact, the container and food get VERY hot - watch when removing the lid for escaping steam.
Another benefit - there is way much less spillage or splattering in the microwave to clean up.
AND, the lids are very easy to clean either by hand or in my dishwasher (they are well-made).
Finally, they make great gifts for friends or relatives (think bridal showers, birthdays, hostess gifts, etc.). I highly recommend.

Does not fit 12.5 pan at all, but I Love the look of it, so cute/modern. Only thing I don’t really like is the silicone texture clings to everything as ur trying to take it off the pot/pan it’s king of hard to remove when u set it down on countertops it sticks very well and is even hard to get off of the counter. So you need to set it on like a cutting board/etc to make things easier.

Where have these things been my whole life! I read the reviews before purchasing but didn’t truly understand how great these silicone rounds were until I used them on a couple of smaller snapwear glass bowls (I had broken the snap wear lids). I have also used them on tea cups, canned pet foods, and even as a drain water stopper. I toss them flat onto top shelf of dishwasher and they wash up perfectly every time. Enough suction is created that I can pick up a small snapwear bowl by this lid.

This lid surprised me because I thought it would have a rim around it on the bottom like most lids, but it does form a tight seal with any round bowl 6-in diameter or narrower, even without one.
I ordered it to replace my broken crockpot lid, and it's been working beautifully, with a better seal and easier cleanup than any crockpot lid I've ever used.
It does get kind of hot if the crockpot boils over, since the handle is so close to the surface, but ideally the crockpot fluid doesn't touch the lid at all, and if it does handle warmth is not my primary concern.
I have some concern about the lid sinking in the middle after prolonged use, but it hasn't so far and if I store it flat I don't believe it will.
I will be remembering this brand the next time I need a long-lasting lid for cooking or storage, and if it continues to hold up as well as it has been I'll be happy to recommend it to anyone as a lifetime favorite.

This lid is amazing. I admit I was skeptical on how well it would stay on but after getting it and using it for several marinades I am hooked. I am planning on buying some smaller sizes for the other bowls I have. I've been recommending this to my friends and they love it as well!
