I have had this Igloo Countertop Ice Maker for a bit over a month and couldn't be happier!
Having only the fridge freezer, I really don't have room to keep trays in the freezer, this countertop maker sits stylishly in a corner and makes cubes as we need them!
It has a 2 quart capacity water reservoir, makes either small or large cubes and apparently can make up to 26lbs of ice a day... :-0!
Simply fill the tank, plug in, turn on, select your cube size and in 8 minutes you have your 1st batch of cubes! Once the basket is full, it knows to stop making, or if you require no more, simply turn it off!
Perfect !
I've gone through four different brands of ice-makers in as many years, and I'm really hoping that this one out-lasts the others. I purchased it because of brand reputation and because people were saying that they run it full time in dorms and kitchens.
Only had it a couple of months, but here's my thoughts so far:
It's quite durable. I accidentally dropped it while getting it out of its box, which would usually spell doom for a cheaper ice maker. But this one survived the fall without a problem.
It is pretty quiet while running, but the sound can be alarming when it's in the process of dumping a load of ice into the bin and re-filling. It took me a couple days to get used to the jarring sound, because it sounds similar to the noise of my cat knocking something breakable off a shelf.
We've been running it non-stop and so far we've had no problems with it. It's way too soon to tell if it will withstand the test of time (we bought the extended service plan for it.) But so far, so good.
I bought this 5 years ago and NEVER turned it off. It auto senses when bin is full and quits making ice until the sensor is cleared by removing some of the ice. Mine quit working today, but 5 years of use is enough for the money and I ordered another one for replacement.
This thing makes the best ice, it's kind of soft and not too crunchy if you use the small setting, and it will just keep on all weekend if I keep water in it. I make three 1 gallon ziplock bags on Sat or Sun, takes a few hours and it lasts me all week. The basket does drip, so when transferring ice from the maker to the bag I keep a bar towel under it, but other than that I really have no complaints. If you double your ziplock bags, you can take it out of the freezer and slam it on the counter to break it up and not tear the bag. Glad I got it. It has already paid for itself in bags of ice, time, and trips to the store.
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband, since our ice maker on our refrigerator was permanently broken. It works really well and we have ice whenever we need it. It’s not too loud and it does make a decent amount of ice. We are having one tiny issue with it though. It’s suppose to tell us when we need to fill it up with water because it’s too low or out of water and a red light is suppose to come on, and it’s not coming on. So I need to keep checking myself when I think it needs to be filled with water. Other than that, everything is great. We are very happy with it.

It's small and simple to use I love it. It's perfect for two. If you kept bagging the ice it might service a small party. It is extremely quiet. I it a lot.
(27 Apr 19) Well, it's apparent that I received a defective unit. I think I can count 2 and 3/4 ice pellets after almost 5 hours of operation. I'm anxious to see how customer service is. If you're reading, Mr/Mrs customer service person, I'm gonna be extremely upset if you make me have to go through the process of boxing it up, and mail it off! I better get front door, service!
By the way, I just received 1 more ice pellet.
Lastly, the unit is much noisier than I anticipated. My intent is to use this in my RV when we camp. If I can just about hear a mouse fart in my sleep, I'm certain I'll be able to hear every mode of this ice makers' process.
I will update after I receive word from customer service.
Update #1. Amazon customer service is replacing the defective unit. I will update again after I receive the new new one.
Update #2 (May 11, 2019) I received my new, new ice maker and am very happy with it, along with Amazon's amazing customer service. They attempted to reach out to Frigidaire, but Frigidaire did not respond, so Amazon sent me a new one. Being that the old one was defective, Amazon did not want me to ship it back to them. I know it'd be easy to throw in the dumpster, but the little bit of tree-hugger in me, says I need to recycle it somehow. I'll figure that part out.
P.S. The new, new ice maker is just as noisy as the old, new one, but I can live with it.
The Igloo ICE 108 Ice Maker is as easy as filling it with water and turning it on. One thing I did not think about before I purchased it, however, is whether the ice compartment keeps the ice frozen, and it DOES NOT. It makes little round ice cubes very quickly, but they will melt before too long. We use it behind our bar at home so we don't have to walk up the stairs to the kitchen. We just make the ice when we think we'll be using the bar and then keep the extra ice in the bar refrigerator we have so that we have some frozen ice later, if needed.
Love, love, love this ice maker. Received on July 3, 2017. I started making ice on morning of the 4th. Three first three batches out because of being new. I regularly added water as needed all day and I had enough ice that afternoon for our 4th of July get together. It starts making ice in about 10 - 15 mins and ice pieces are small but it doesn't take long to fill the basket. This has been a great purchase.
