They're scissors. You put one blade on either side of something you wish to cut, squeeze the handles together, and it cuts. Super sharp, too. They cut almost as precisely as my father's comments about my career path.
Well, they are scissors they cut paper and such in a straight line and don’t hurt my hand. I truly love these scissors, if mine were to "walk away" from my desk I'd go to my Amazon order history and hit the button to re-order these.
I’m not exactly a scissor afficianado. I don’t even know if that’s a thing, but if it were I’d say these scissors were imbued with hints of rose and lilac, not in a scented way, but more in an emotional way. In the same way that a rose makes you think of beauty and a lilac calms your soul, these scissors will make lines and shapes where once there wasn’t, and that is a fundamental component of beauty - and really, that should soothe your soul in a lilac kind of way.
I have a old old pair fiskers hard plastic orange color. These are grey. Way better fit. I have huge hands and my thumb and fingers don't get caught in the holes. Soft material and I can really tell. Way better set than my old ones. Couldn't get my fingers all the way in the old ones but they still cut good after 20 years old?

I am very pleased with the durability and soft grip of my scissors. It’s interesting to note that these have held up better then my kitchen scissors made by Wüsthof that is in my knife set! It was so expensive and these scissors don’t come apart like my Wüsthof ones have. I have used them to cut fabric, different types of papers and even my cordon pescription tape! They are really good scissors that I feel are inexpensive but very good quality. I didn’t even mind when my friend made the comment about how OCD I am everything matching. I said try these before you laugh at me! She was very surprised at how soft were to hold and well they cut!
I bought these Fiskars 8 Inch Soft grip Scissors Straight, Stainless Steel for my sister. She was so happy with them. She always just dealt with the cheap pairs that her work office orders. So, I decided to treat her to some great quality scissors, especially since she is always, always, always working on projects and crafts, both at work and home. The quality of these scissors is really high. The handle is soft and feels great compared to the hard plastic scissors she was using. The grey portion of the scissors is hard plastic and the white is a soft silicone. The overall feel, is very comfortable. My hand fits perfectly in the handle. They are light weight too. The blades are very sharp and cut crisp, clean lines, every time. My sister is currently in the process of decorating my beautiful nieces birthday party, and she did mention that her had doesn’t get tired or hurt/bruise from continuously cutting construction paper, card board, etc. I highly recommend the Fiskars 8 Inch Soft grip Scissors Straight, Stainless scissors for everyone. The quality definitely surpasses the awesome price.

Description
Sharp and comfortable all-purpose scissors
Office-mates keep taking my generic-looking scissors, so I splurged and bought some nicer scissors. I can easily identify these on my office-mates' desks if they happen to nab them.
The Fiskars 8 inch scissors have a very soft grip that helps when cutting multiple things in a row (such as wrapping paper). The blades are also very sharp, and will easily cut through most paper stock. I've also had them get kind of messy from time to time (with ink and such), and by simply using alcohol, the grime will come right off these scissors.
The design of the handle fits very nicely in most right-handed people's hands, and I am very pleased with this purchase. I will definitely consider more Fiskars brand items when shopping for office supplies in the future.
I bought these because it was cheaper than buying a pair at walmart or target. Not to mention the easy grip holds are a lifesaver and I couldn't even find them at stores! Super sharp with such great precision!
I bought the 8 inch scissor. The handles are very comfortable compared to the ones that are made of hard plastic. These scissors are perfect for cutting things like wrapping paper. If you want to cut intricate shapes then I think these are too bike and wide, get a smaller scissor. These scissors are just to big for intricate work. Fiskars makes very good quality scissors especially at this price. Yes there are better but they cost more too. These fit right and left handed very well. I would buy again.
Wow, I bought these to replace my 20+ year old Fiskars. I had the originals, but after so many years, some abuse, a child now 9, they were getting peculiar about what they would cut. I couldn't figure out how to sharpen them, so my daughter (25) suggested new ones. Okay, YOU DON'T dangle $4 Fiskars and expect me not to buy them. I paused, they were after all grey, not orange. But I bit my thought and bought two. Then I went to rip up a bag of frozen veggies and my granddaughter watched me and said, "REALLY MIMI?" She handed me the scissors! They cut right through the plastic, no problem. Okay, so I haven't tried cardboard and the heavy duty stuff, but for all the normal parts, they work great. Also, I haven't had them for 20 years, so I'll wait and see.
The other really nice thing is that my left-handed daughter doesn't have a problem with them.
They are Fiskars, so yeah they work. I bought Fiskars pruners a while back and have never been disappointed.
Cost $6.84 from Totally-Crafty with free shipping. Arrived in 6 days. These sell for $11.75 at the local big box craft store. Used them several times and was pleased. The soft grips are worth they extra $. At least a decade ago bought a multi-pack of Fiskars garden tools and a similar pair of scissors were included as a bonus - they still work fine for everyday cutting and they have taken plenty of use and abuse. Appears from the prior reviews these are not fabric scissors but for the price . . . you can't expect them to, fabric scissors are triple the price of everyday scissors.
UPDATE October 2014. Have used these scissors at least several times a week since purchase. Try to use them just for household use - mostly paper, opening packaging and string. They are my favorite pair of scissors in the house. About the same time as I ordered these from Amazon had also ordered Fiskar titanium scissors a two pack of 7" scissor and 5" scissors. These stainless steel scissors in my opinion have kept their original sharpness and were a better deal.
