I bought this machine for my office. We have 22 people in my office and this machine keeps up with the demand!! The ice is bullet shaped and we have it set for the medium sized ice cube. Last a long time (I even refill my water before the ice melts). I never turn off the machine. My office has power surges once in a while, but the machine powers itself off and only resets after I unplug it from the wall. Great safety feature so it doesn't burn up the motor.
Read a lot, alot of comparison reviews. I mean I read a lot! I chose this one for the self cleaning feature!! The cubes look like minions and the tray will fill in about 45 minutes. Ice is dropped within 12 minutes but only enough for one glass. Portability? It's heavy and need two hands to carry it. I didn't intend to use it for camping. It will take up significant space in a RV or camper. I do like the timer function as well. I set to have ice for my Yeti in the am. It is a little loud but what machine does not make noise? It's dropping ice cubes. The cubes look like minions. Not crushed but I'm not looking to chew it. I guess you could put it on the small setting. I only use the large. (3 sizes for selection)
Love it. I have had it for a couple months now, used it for parties, and back up ice bags in the deep freeze. I usually run it all weekend and we have not had to buy any ice for our coolers for sporting events or camping trips. My father in law and I timed it and it does drop a tray of ice every 10 minutes on the medium setting, large about 12-13, haven’t tested the small setting but guessing would be a little quicker than 10 minutes. At $2-3 a bag of ice at the gas station, I have already saved $40-50 on ice. It’s not super portable because it basically a 16” cube, so if you want it to be portable, get the smaller one
Bought this as a gift for my friends for Christmas. They recently bought a place on the lake and there's no water hookup for their camper fridge.. they were buying 2 bags of ice at a time during summer months. Now they have ice anytime and in minutes and they LOVE it. It was an odd Christmas gift but they really do use it a lot at their camper and it doesn't take up that much room, can be put on the deck or left inside. If they hook it up on the deck that means they don't have anyone running in and out of the camper getting ice out of the fridge or a cooler, and they don't have to run get another bag of ice every day.
It arrived and the compressor did not work. It's such a hassle to repack and ship back so I decided to pull the cover off the motor to see if it was a simple fix. After a few minutes of looking, I noticed a wire hanging free. I located the connection point, plugged it in and it started running. Maybe it came loose during the shipping process. It works well and produces lots of ice. I would have given it a 5 star if it arrived in working order.

I like everything about it (even though the first one sent to me was defective the people at the amazon end were very helpful not so much the people at the place it was sent from (compact appliance) very short on the phone when I mentioned I ordered thru amazon)... only thing not happy with is the weight of the unit
Works great. I purchased this unit to replace my old EdgeStar ice maker (IP210SS) which was smaller. Have used it at a few family gatherings now and I am very satisfied with the unit.
Love this ice maker. We have had it now for two summers. Easy to use and makes plenty of ice for large parties. Although, its too large and heavy to bring camping. Thinking about getting a smaller one for the camper.
It’s very easy to use and if you’re in the middle of making ice and you have to run out to the store etc. you don’t have to worry about leaving the ice maker on. When the cycle is finished and it shuts down and the ice starts melting it will turn back on and remake ice from the water that has melted from the try of ice that had been already made.
