Ok, so I love coffee, and drink it daily, but have never liked trying to make cold or iced coffee at home. It is never the same as when someone else makes it in an actual coffee shop. I also thought cold brew was super complicated because once a coffee shop runs out during the day, it isn't available until the next opening day. So, I was skeptical about investing in a cold brew maker. I had researched a few brands, but was intimidated. Instead, I got surprised with this one as a gift, and I am so glad! This is awesome!!! It is soooooooooooo easy to use and make! You can use your favorite coffee grounds.
Nothing special you have to buy outside of what you already love. Also, instead of having to wait overnight for the brew, it is super fast and makes in just a few minutes, and you can save the brew for a few days in the fridge without it going bad! That is the bonus. I make excess and just save it so as I'm heading out the door, I pour some in my tumbler and go. The clean up is easy. Unlike some other machines I have had with multiple tubes and caps, this one is minimal and everything can be washed easily. I highly suggest trying this brand if you love cold brew and were uncertain about what to buy. Well worth it!!!!!!!!

I love cold brew. I hate brewing cold brew. Most cold brews that I make at home take at least 24 hours to steep and that means I have to remember to get it going in advance of needing it. They take up precious room in my fridge and really just led to me buying tons of Stok each week at the grocery. Then I found this machine... OH MY GOODNESS it's a life changer. It takes about 20 minutes from start to finish and I've got my Stok bottle refilled and stored in the fridge with fresh (Starbucks) cold brewed coffee. I love that I can just set it and forget it and come back it's done. It's as easy to clean as any drop coffee maker, it's not too noisy (it's not quiet) and you can even store the carafe in the fridge directly after brewing. If you like cold brew or iced coffee, do not wait to buy this. Order it now! You won't regret it!

For drink out of the carafe cold brew my favorite way to do it is: 1.5 cups of ground coffee, 1250ml of water, 11 minute cycle. It's nearly perfect and full of flavor. My barista daughter and I spent some time trying to figure out that correct combo and settled on this after some trial and error.

This cold brewer is amazing! I originally purchased the Cuisinart DCB-10 Automatic Cold Brew Coffeemaker, but the results from that brewer were awful. The coffee was cloudy, light, watery, and filled with grinds. I returned it and purchased this brewer. I am so glad I did! The brew from the Dash brewer was so clear, dark, and pure. I was honeslty really surprised that all it took was 15 minutes. The Cuisinart brewer takes 45 to make its "bold" brew, but the brew was no where near as bold. If you're deciding between the two the Dash Brewer is definelty the one to go with!

I’ve been using this for about a month and I love how easy it is to make my cold brew! I usually run it for 2 fifteen minute cycles to get it dark enough, but 30 minutes is still much faster than 24 hours! I have 2 minor issues, but I can live with them (for now). Cleaning the system is a bit of a chore and there always seems to be some leftover water somewhere. And, most annoying, the carafe leaks when I’m pouring the cold brew into a pitcher. Not sure if mine is defective or if it’s a design flaw, but it leaks right where the clear plastics meets the top. I would recommend this for anyone who loves cold brew and hates to wait for it to be done! 4 stars for the minor issues, would up it to 5 if they fixed the carafe!

This is good overall. I have a newer version with the improved filter i.e. it is now a basket. This makes emptying the spent grounds easier. Cleaning up is still an issue as you need run it again and also give it a little rinse.

The black plastic at the top of the jug is no longer properly secured. On the 4 connection points, the one at the front has slightly dislodged. As a result, as I pour the coffee, it will leak. I am trying to get some support through Amazon and will update on how they respond.

Description

This new updated version is the world's first Rapid cold brew system. Our patent-pending cold boil technology makes delicious cold brew in just 5 minutes. Just fill the Coffee container with grounds and the carafe with water, turn the dial, and the Rapid cold brew system takes care of the rest. The simplified process eliminates any waiting period for a cup of fresh cold brew. If you're making ready-to-drink cold brew, you can make 42 fluid ounces (7 servings) of cold brew in as little as 5 minutes. The Dash Rapid cold brew system can also make cold brew concentrate, the stronger version of regular cold brew, and makes upwards of 16 servings. Traditionally, cold brew is Coffee that has been steeped for a long period of time in cold water. Because the Coffee beans never come in contact with heat, the Coffee oils don't react with boiling water and never develop that acidic, bitter Coffee tang. The result is a richer cup of joe with a smoother finish that's easy on your digestive system. You can also heat up your cold brew to enjoy it hot. So whether you're looking to amp up your hot Latte game, or sticking to the classic cold version, the Dash Rapid cold brew system saves time and delivers a better tasting brew.

The thing I like is it doesn't require much of your time. It makea very good "cold brew", I made a normal cold brew, and when thay was ready I did a brew in this. There was a very subtle difference, the 18 hour brew waa just a tad bit stronger, and of course a hell of a lot more. While I do like this machine, if you like very strong coffee, you'll be going through A LOT more coffee than you normally do. It's pretty much all I drink, and I went through 2 1lb bags in a week.

Also, I'm not sure what the issue was.. But last time I went to go make some, I put the full 50oz of water in the pitcher, and at the end of it all I only had 40oz? Never happened previously. I did use a different coffee. Maybe I had the beams ground not coarsely enough? I don't know, I'll be making some today, I'll see what happens.

If you have a friend who wants to brew a pot of their own, don't let them use it if they have "subpar" mass produced coffee, as she used foldgers, and now that AWFUL coffee smell is strongly present now lol.

I absolutely love this cold brew! My job keeps me busy and on the go, and in the desert heat I don’t always want to have hot coffee (115 degrees?!). This Cold Brew machine makes my morning iced coffee or latte simple, no more over sugared, extra caloried drive-thrus. Everything is customized, strength of brew, ingredients, amount, etc. The best part is, I can put the carafe right in the fridge and I’m set for up to 10 days if I make the max amount.

Pros: Fast, easy to use, easy to clean, saves money

Con: uses A LOT of coffee grounds to get a strong brew

I do think it deserves its four star average. It is a good machine. Brews coffee chilled (not cold, you will need to either put your mug in the freezer overnight or gets some iced cubes.)
My only major complaint is you have to make sure the coffee ground holder is screwed on tight, otherwise the water and the grounds gets everywhere you can imagine and it is hard to clean up. A screwed in system with a small deposit for coffee might make it more usable, but it is worth the buy if you drink alot of chilled lattes/drinks

This a pretty lightweight and yet complicated appliance. WHEN USED AS DIRECTED IN THE INSTRUCTIONS, it works flawlessly. (I mention this because I'm pretty sure some of the grossly negative reviews came from people who didn't.)

It's a little time-consuming to clean, as well.
