I like to use my Kindle unadorned (i.e. naked as some say). The book like covers get in the way, and add a bit of weight. I also like covers that zip up to help protect against dirt and dust, especially when in my backpack. So when I upgraded from the Kindle Keyboard to the Kindle Paperwhite, I needed a new cover that matched those criteria. This one fit the bill. The Paperwhite fits in their nicely. Very snug. The case has some inner padding to help protect the device. The case with the Kindle in it is not too bulky. When in the cover, it fits completely into the back pocket of my (men's) jeans. And the built in handle is a nice touch. You can slip your hand through it when carrying other things to ensure you don't drop it. But it does not otherwise add bulk or "get in the way" in any way.
I got the coral color so the case stands out a bit when sitting on a desk or table among other clutter. It also makes it easier to find in a bag/backpack. My previous case was red for this very reason, and it proved effective in addressing those needs. Plus it's nice to have some color in your life :) I wish this case was available in a bit of a more traditional "cherry" red. But the Coral is fine.
My only minor complaint, and the reason for 4 rather than 5 stars, is that the zipper does not completely close. There is a small 3/8" (9.5mm) gap where the zipper meets the "fold" of the cover on the top (upper left corner in the product photo). It is a place where dust and dirt could get in when in a bag. But looking at the case, it is easy to see that the only way to have prevented that gap would have been to make the case a bit larger and more bulky. And overall it is a minor shortcoming.
Overall, a great case. And well worth the price when available at the reduced price. Even at that price it is a bit pricey in the "normal world", but very reasonable in the "electronic accessories world" where everything is way overpriced. But just as a restaurant makes its money on drinks, appetizers and deserts, so too do electronic manufactures make their profits on the extras.
BRING IT BACK AMAZON!. This is the PERFECT zipper sleeve that protects your Kindle while maintaining one of Kindle's best features, it's light weight. It never made sense to me to add unnecessary weight to it by putting on a wearable case. I figure I only need a cover when I'm transporting it so when the time comes to take it somewhere, I slip it in the sleeve. It seems to me at the time this was being sold by Amazon, most negative reviews came from fitment issues. Either Amazon didn't make it clear which Kindles it fit or people weren't paying attention. Amazon should definitely bring back this perfect sleeve.
First impressions on Zip Sleeve...
I opened the packaging and the Kindle Touch pouch is pretty much what I was expecting. It's good quality and I love the Coral color it's exactly as described, it's a pretty color and a classy design and I like it. You can tell that Amazon designed these for the current gen kindle expecting people would prefer this to a leather case. I have an M-edge book style cover with a light slot for those times I absolutely have to read in the dark which is almost never.
I really liked the Kindle leather case and the lighted one also but I chose to buy the sleeve instead...why?...well I think the Kindle Touch's form factor just begs you to hold it *naked* I find it much more enjoyable to read that way, I actually wished Amazon would have made this sleeve for the kindle keyboard too. For someone like me who keeps their Kindle in their purse and likes to take it with them in their purse or bag this is perfect. The quality is pretty good and really light weight which is great cause it doesn't add too much bulk to my purse and is cushioned enough to protect my touch. Price wise though I think Amazon could have cut $10 from the price in my opinion but it is what it is and it's the best sleeve I've seen.
Now why 4 stars? I would have maybe given 41/2 but that's not an option. While I think the Kindle Zip sleeve is the best option for people who actually take their Kindles with them, it is a little bit of a tight fit for the Kindle Touch. Amazon could have actually made one a tad bit bigger for the Touch. This sleeve would prob fit Kindle 4 just right but it's a little tight for the Touch so I'll see how this affects using it in the long run but I still love it.
Overall I'm glad I ordered the sleeve instead of the leather case. I'll be using it to bring my Kindle Touch 3G along with me to work and everywhere else :)
Had this for the past six years. Has held up remarkably well. Still clean, no stains or wear, zipper works fine. Has protected against innumerable drops and some poor conditions. Does exactly what I want and ended up being good value, (and "I even like the color").
I know someone who has this same sleeve in another color so I knew for sure when I ordered it that it was what I wanted. The only complaint I have is that it has apparently been discontinued. I was really lucky to find it used a secondary seller in the color I wanted. Anyway I love it! It has such a nice feel to it and is very attractive. I take my Kindle almost everywhere with me and this allows me to toss it right into my bag or backpack worry free. It's definitely not a hard case- it just protects from scratches and offers some cushion so it doesn't get crushed. Awesome product, even though I bought mine used.

In general, I find that there are two kinds of cases: those that allow you to read the device and those that are purely for storage (e.g, you cannot access or view the device while it is in the case). This case is firmly the latter and is really useful for storing the device in a safe place when it is not in use. I love this product, even more than I love my Kindle. I bought the Graphite (with the lime green interior) and it looks and feels spectacular. Although, IMO, it is rather expensive, I can tell that I got my money's worth. The sleeve is made out of great material that is so comfortable to grip, the 'Kindle' branded on the strap gives it that extra stamp of Amazon approval and the interior just makes it feel as if it's a luxury product rather than a purely functional one. When I first fit my Kindle in it, I was wary about the issues with the corner giving problems when zipping but no such issues occurred with me. My Kindle fit perfectly. I would recommend this product to anyone (except those who prefer book-like cases, of course) I picked this up for my girlfriend, who is a menace with technology. The Kindle, which is a solid piece of hardware, is, as we all know, somewhat fragile -- case in point, I put a mark into my Kindle within weeks of owning it. A permanent black mark. This is a very nicely crafted, good quality, padded case, with just enough slack to store a few sheets of your notes/papers along with your kindle. Coral colour is very attractive, I bought it for my daughter as a Christmas present, she had the choice of returning for a different brand or colour but she loved and kept it. The zipper goes around 2 edges, and a wide leather strap on the side makes it safer to carry by putting your fingers through it eliminating accidental drops. At this price it is a good choice. I'm a first time Kindle-holic and thought it'd be a good idea to buy some sort of cover to protect the screen et al. I found this product (Vegan.............don't purchase leather) and it works quite well. While the padding inside is sufficient, I think a pocket of some sort on the inside could be helpful. I have my library card number written on a piece of paper and stashed away inside the sleeve for when I need it - it invariably falls out when I take the Kindle out. Just a suggestion/thought.
