I just recently purchased (Nov 11) an Australian power adapter for my Kindle Touch. I wanted this so that I have the ease of charging my Kindle via electricity as it is not always possible to be near a computer at all times. I think this is an essential purchase when buying any Kindle.
I have been using Kindle reader on my iPhone for some years. It is very convenient but also very frustrating in bright daylight. It is impossible to sit in the sun and read comfortably. I decided to buy a physical Kindle. I am so happy. Since I have had it my reading has increased significantly in parallel with my comfort. The device is a pleasure to read in the sun. It is light enough to read in bed and it will fit in my jacket pocket. The battery life is impressive, requiring charging about once per week. On the downside, I would like to read Zinio magazines on it but cant. I find the web browser a pain so I wont use it again. In summary I dont know how I lived without it.
It does the job, and charges more quickly than when the Kindle is plugged into a computer. And when I was in the US, I was able to use it with a plug converter, so it actually works across regions even though the prongs are configured for Australian power outlets. So I am happy. The price, however, seems a bit steep for a measly little plug, hence the 4 stars rather than 5. At this price, may I suggest that it should come with its own USB cable? It would be nice to have a spare in case something happened to (or I misplaced) the one that came with my Kindle. That would be my only improvement.
This is just what I needed to keep my Kindle charged when traveling in Australia - and all I needed, despite the pre-trip advice from Kindle phone support that I would also require a voltage currency converter. Happily, I verified pre-departure that I did not, so my baggage was not unnecessarily made heavier by lugging the converter. This plug adapter is small and lightweight..

Works well in a pleasing package. However it should have been made a necessary inclusion in the initial purchase rather than having to fork out additional funds in order to be able to charge battery on board in the KIndle Reader.
In all other electronic items the electrical charger/connector is a given when you purchase the item.
I am very new with the kindle and find it all hard to get used too, I was a huge reader and now my sight is failing. I have not finished this book but have found it very slow and and the characters a little bland. I know things were not much then for females on their own but Mary Lincoln seems a very unusual choice for a man like Abraham Lincoln and his older son was no go getter at least till the time I have reached in the story.
I would like to do another review after this book is completed and I have bought some others including, The Wayward apprentice, and The Heart of a lion. ( King Richard )
The kindle itself seems easy but I think there is a short time of accepting that it does not feel quite like a book, time again will answer my questions.

For Australian Kindle users this adaptor is a most reccommended item to purchase as an extra at the time of purchasing the Kindle itself. With it & the USB cable that comes with the device, it is possible to recharge anywhere in Australia, with or without a computer.
Ifound this adapter very worthwhile. It charges well and saves having to turn on the computer all the time.
It is a shame that it isn't sold in Australia as the postage brings the price up. Just the same I'm glad I purchased it.
Amazon had it delivered in a few days and that was good also.
