Freeze dried treats are the first thing I recommend to people looking for treats for their pets. You're dealing with a single ingredient so you don't have to worry about weird fillers, and its versatility as either a treat or as a sprinkled topper for wet or dry food makes it more indispensable than other treats.
These kinds of treats have been literal lifesavers for a few of my pets with medical conditions. If you've had a sick cat, you probably know that it can be difficult to get them to eat anything at all, and you may find yourself going through brand after brand of cat food looking for something that will encourage them to eat. One of my cats is 14 and has heart disease. The only way I can encourage him to eat is to crush a few of these up on top of both his wet and dry food offerings.
This particular brand is one of my favorite go-to brands. I've found many brands to have too many hard pieces in them that could be choking hazards, and some brands have too much moisture and don't crush easily. Another brand I recommend is Weruva, though it's on the more expensive side.
Always check the dog version of any single-ingredient freeze dried treats to see if it's less expensive. In many pet stores, the bag marketed to dogs is cheaper. The pieces are usually a little bigger but these are easy treats to break up.

CONS: Expensive, and, most of the time 1/4 of the bag is nothing but chicken dust particles. Yeah, I hate paying for a full bag of chicken, and getting 1/4 of the bag being dust particles, but, not much you can do about that. You still get a lot of chicken treats in this bag!
Small tip: I break up all the large pieces into much smaller pieces, then toss 'em into a Tupperware bowl, this way the bag lasts a lot longer.
Unfortunately, it's about the only treat my cat likes, so, despite the high price of this stuff, I'm kinda stuck buying it. But, seeing how it ain't much cheaper anywhere else, I get it here on Amazon. I've been to all the big box "well known" Pet stores, still, not much savings there, either.
These are bigger pieces unlike the smaller uniform sized pieces of other brands. The pieces break easily, but there's the problem...lots and lots of chicken powder. Don't get me wrong, she eats the powder, it's just a messy, sometimes wasteful, ordeal.
My cat is recovering from Hepatic Lipidosis and eating is the cure. I have been trying to tempt her with every kind of food and treat out there. I'm so excited to have found this treat. She loves it and its a healthy natural treat! So I've been gradually getting rid of the other treats and she's not missing them. She goes nuts for these.
I show Himalayans cats and they got hooked on these at a show!! Free sample. Well it's like what my friend calls Kitty crack!!! I have been buying them for 4 yrs. They are more reasonably priced on line than at a cat show!!! They only get a couple a day because of the price. They know if they let me bathe them and blow dry them that there are chicken treats in their future. I buy them all the time. I only had to send one order back because they were packed in a box too tight. the treats came crushed to powder. But once in over 4 yrs. I was given a free shipping label to return them and I had the new replacements in 1 day!!!! Before I even had my return in the mail!!! Excellent service!! My cats love these freeze-dried chicken treats. However, they don't eat these as treats, but as wet food "toppers." It helps to enhance the food they already eat, and encourages them to eat the food they'd reject. I thank the reviewers who wrote that these treats helped them get their cats to eat any wet food. With the exception of a few cat food brands/types, I haven't had to toss out uneaten food.
Wow!!! SO MUCH BETTER than PureBites.... had to find another freeze dried chicken treat for my cats because PureBites was going down hill in quality..... this was THE PERFECT solution and I'll continue to buy these instead now! My cat seems to love them and they are very easy to crumble on top of their food! Seems like a GREAT QUALITY ALL MEAT pure chicken freeze dried treat and no greasy stringy HARD as a rock pieces like we were getting in the PureBites bags!!!!
One of my cats is allergic to fish and shellfish and turkey. It's hard to find single ingredient products that can serve as snacks and that are easy to break into small pieces. This chicken is amazing. Although sometimes I do find really hard to break apart pieces, most of them are soft but crunchy enough for my cat to enjoy and I don't have to worry about hidden allergens in this product.
My cat goes crazy for these things. I used to get Grandma Lucy's equivalent thing, but these were cheaper and honestly, the guy in the video eating them was what sold me.
The texture isn't always consistent and sometimes I will get a bag full of treats that don't crumble at all. But I solved that by just putting them through my blender until they become a powder and then storing them in an airtight container. That works best for us anyway since my older cat had to have several teeth removed when he was younger and can't chew the larger pieces well.
I sprinkle it on the canned food I give my guys twice a day and it has saved me a fortune because it appears to make just about anything (even grain free and organic!) taste like a gourmet dish.
It's even vet approved for my hyperthyroid kitty who is on a prescription diet thanks to it being organic and having no added chemicals in it.
