We bought this to use for our Girl Scout troop to tie dye tshirts.
Cotton tshirts - 9 little girls with size S > XL white tshirts. And 6 mamas with size M - XXL white tshirts.
And we had tons of extra dye after so I took it home and did another 7 shirts and still had some left over of the colors.
The colors are bright and not fading even after the wearing and washing since we made them a few months ago.
Hint > follow the instructions regarding which material shirts to get and pre-soak/ washing.
Wow! This made so many projects! We had a teen tie- dye party and bought two of these for our large group. We only needed one. This made 20 pillowcases, 30 bandanas, over a dozen shirts, 2 sheets, and a pair of shoes. The color was vibrant, the kit was easy to use, the instructions and tips were helpful. We did soak the items in soda ash after prewashing everything. This extra step resulted in great, saturated hues and excellent dye retention with very little bleed. After rinsing and washing everything, the colors stayed bright and fresh. We were all impressed by the great variety of colors and the value for the money. HIGHLY recommend!
The instructions were a little vague- It says to fill it up to the "line", I couldn't see any line on the bottle and in the end had to just assume it meant to the top of the label. And I wish I had known before buying that you have to use what is mixed right away and can't store it. But the product worked well and I liked the instructions on how to fold the shirts to get the desired look and it was fun doing it.
Great color and great party idea! We used the set for my Sons 4th birthday. Great for both adults and kids(with assistance). Super easy to set up and break down. A little messy but that's what the gloves are for. This made less then advertised but we also saturated every piece with lots of color. We were able to do 20-25 shirts with this set. The shirts turned out super vibrant and everyone loved the idea. A lot easier then the old method of dying cloths.
I loved using this product. I needed to tie dye three rather large tapestries, one of which was 6x9 feet and the other two were 4x7 feet. I had enough dye for all three tapestries and plenty left over to do a t-shirt and a small bag. This kit was the perfect size for my large project and the colors are fabulous. Just follow the instructions and you can't go wrong. I've attached a photo of the 6x9 ft tapestry so you can see all the colors of the party pack deployed onto one tapestry.

I read reviews of scout meetings and summer camps and thought this would be a good project for our art class. I wasn't until I pulled apart everything and read the instructions that I discovered the dye is supposed to sit for 6-8 hours! So I ended up having to take them all home and then didn't have time to rinse them for a couple days. Whether because of that or just the quality of the dye, the shirts turned out great at least! Very vibrant colors and the kids were thrilled when I brought them back. I do wish the steps were a bit clearer up front though.
I looked at several brands and techniques to tie dye and they all had a ton of steps. I got this set and didn't even wash my cotton shirts first, I wet them and then rubber banded them, applied dye let them set wrapped up over night then washed the next day they are so bright!!
I am a teacher and when I have bought kits before there wasn’t enough to do a whole class set of shirts with a good amount of dye, we bought two of these kits because of previous experinc s for about 60 kids but had more than a whole kit of dye left over so we could have definitely gotten by with just one kit for over 60 shirts!
The dye worked just as I hoped. Used as a group activity at my daughter’s birthday party and was able to do 15 shirts with plenty leftover for more. Kids were 8-10 years old and all did it on their own and each came out great and unique. Just fair warning: it will be messy, especially when you rinse them out after they’ve sat for the ~6 hours. My hands were GREEN cause I was dumb and didn’t put the gloves on when rinsing them all out.
The ink lasted longer than they say it does (was still good a week later with their caps on).
If you want clean colours, do each colour at a time, wait for it to dry, then add more. If you want them to bleed together, then do it at one sitting while ink is wet.
I managed to make about 50 large/xlarge t-shirts and still had lots left.
