I wasn't able to find photos of the joins when I bought this but decided to trust the reviews that said the joins are fine rather than the ones that said they were big ugly knots or something. So glad I bought this gorgeous yarn! It's knitting up beautifully, is a joy to work with (no splitting, feels nice on my hands, I usually don't like working with cotton but this has a nice dinner and flexibility to it more like a wool blend but with the coolness and smooth appearance of cotton.) I have uploaded a photo of a join so you can see that they are quite nice and really do blend in so long as you aren't doing lace (if you're doing lace, I'd recommend cutting the joins and redoing them to be invisible, it's totally worth the extra effort, just think of it as joining separate balls of perfectly matched gradient yarns). There are quite a few because this is true gradient yarn. It doesn't go from red to orange immediately, just one strand at a time changes so it's a nice subtle blend from one color to the next. I love this yarn and will probably be on a bit of a binge of projects using it.
LOVE this yarn! Seriously. It works up beautifully!
Was even prettier than I thought it would be. Can't wait to get started on my project.
I enjoyed using this yarn. It was fine, soft, and fun to watch as the colors changed on my project. I made a baby blanket and am pleased with the results, although there was more white and yellow than I wanted, but I suppose those colors were more prominent in the worked-from-the-middle design I used.
I love working with this yarn. The colors are wonderful. It take a bit to get used to if you're not used to using a fingering weight yarn though.

Description
This delicious gradient yarn from Scheepjes comes in 22 scrumptious colour ways. Made from a blend of 60% cotton / 40% acrylic to produce projects that are lightweight and breathable. Unlike other gradient yarns, Whirl has a generous twist to enable speed while working the yarn and to help prevent splitting. The beautiful drape of this yarn makes it perfect for shawls, accessories, garments and stylish home décor projects. Whirl has a unique twisted plied section, which gives it a characteristic 'flavour' all of its own! This Extra Large yarn cake holds an enormous 1000 meters of softly color changing yarn, more than enough for a large shawl or wrap. Each color change is carefully tied in an optimum way to ensure the knot can be discretely hidden within your stitches.
This yarn is very nice to work with, nice drape and feel to it. I have since reordered it two more times. Each time it arrived sooner than expected, with up to date tracking, and in perfect condition. I crocheted a tablecloth with this yarn.
I like the feel of this yarn however it was thicker in some places and thin in others to the point I worried it might not hold. Love the drape. A little pricey for what they claimed.
I purchased this yarn after admiring both finished products using it and it beautiful colors... all my favorites. I'm enjoying crocheting with this soft yarn and the long color changes are fascinating. The colors are a little different in that there is no white in the yarn cake as shown in the photo... which I prefer given the other colors are darker. The yarn was definitely prettier in person than on the computer monitor.
Good quality but expensive.
This was my first Scheepjes whirl, Jumpin Jelly. It worked up really well. This was my first time working with cotton. Just one cake was not enough for the shawl I was making up it was perfect to use as a scarf. I have received a ton of compliments on the color. This is very easy to care for. I wash it in cold water/delicate cycle and lay flat to dry. It has maintained its shape and color after several washings. i have bought more whirls in various colors.
