I’m really happy with Nanit so far. My wife (mercifully) handled most of our baby registry research, but I was put on monitor duty. I really wanted a wifi monitor that we could access from our phones, so I looked at most of the “smart” monitors out there like Arlo and iBaby but decided to go with Nanit. We’ve been using it for a few weeks now and we’re really happy so far.
- Setup was extremely easy. It’s basically like putting together a floor lamp. The cable management is good but kind of long. I guess they wanted the cable to be pretty far from the crib for safety reasons, so I can’t really knock them for that.
- The angle of the view and the video quality are excellent.
- I really like the ability to check-in from work, which is one of the main reasons we went with this kind of monitor.
- I also really like that the app keeps playing sound when I turn my phone’s screen off. We usually do this at night so that we can hear what’s going on but our phone screens aren’t on all night long. It is also good during the day when your phone isn’t plugged in and you want to save battery life.
- We also really like the Multi-Stand accessory. Our daughter is still mainly in a bassinet so it’s helpful to be able to position the camera nearby. We haven’t tried out the Insights features yet but we’re excited to once our daughter’s in the crib every night.
Overall, we really haven’t had any issues with Nanit so far. It’s a bit expensive but I’d say the quality and features are well worth it.
I love seeing my babies in their bassinets from anywhere! Also love—-
the high quality camera.
That I can be on my phone or have it in sleep mode and have the sound of the babies in the background.
I also receive push notifications when there is movement or sound which will be great for when I’m back at work!
It also tracks sleep and all kinds of other stuff which you need to pay for a subscription, (which we haven’t done yet, but will once we start monitoring our babies sleep patterns.)
This monitor is amazing! I love the overhead camera for no blind spots. The summaries are awesome to see how your little one slept, especially for troubled sleepers. Definitely recommend!
Nanit is a fantastic product. The baby monitor has a great design and is the best baby monitor on the market. The video quality is perfect and and the system is very easy to install. The floor stand is extremely useful and provides the best angle to capture visual summaries of sleeping and napping. Highly recommend this monitor/floor stand to any new parents!
Really love our Nanits! We already had a wall mounted version for our first son but, with the second baby on the way, we switched to this one as it seemed a bit more flexible, and with it on a Christmas sale, it seemed like a good time to buy it. I hooked it up with my current crib and we love it! The camera is awesome, it's super clear and not having to screw it into the wall like the other one, was helpful as we figure out the nursery layou. I have some other smart cameras - Arlo - and I'd say that Nanit is actually a little better picture quality. I also really like the sleep information, it's really cool seeing how long my son slept last night, and seeing when he woke up. Good stuff!

Description
Part baby monitor, part baby translator, part sleep guru. Introducing Nanit. The best thing to happen to the baby monitor since the baby monitor it's everything new parents need to keep an eye on their newborn.
I've been through 4 different baby monitors. Nanit is BY FAR the BEST option for viewing your sleeping baby. I wish I'd gotten it with the first one, but here I am on my last one, and I LOVE this monitor's view of my little girl. I can check on her via the app right before I doze off, or get in the shower in the morning, and I can see her entire crib. I can see every one of her billion pacis, every loose bumper, every tush-up-face-plant-into-the-mattress nap. I worry significantly less about her being in the nursery and not in her bassinet next to my bed with this monitor. Get the wall mounted one - the stand is great and I love it, but the wall-mounted would have worked just as perfectly (I simply didn't want to drill into the wall).
If you use that baby shower money for nothing else, let it be this. I promise, you won't regret it.
As for the product, camera is good, but connection is a bit unstable even on 2.4 G networks. The concept is wonderful, but insight service is also very expensive. I do like what Nanit provides, but it is too expensive for me to recommend to anyone else.

Update: after a little while of no update from Nanit, I was contacted regarding the broken stand months later. It seems that the case was not thrown to the side, and the customer service team was able to get a replacement to me in the end, I’m quite happy about that!
After months of use I can better comment on the experience, it is great when it works, and I still think it’s a very useful gadget, but it can be very frustrating when it doesn’t. Most of my issues like not recognizing movement and sound, event not existing or popping up late are all due to some kind of connectivity issue, it seems that nanit has a much higher need for constant optimal wifi signal and the slightest drop will throw it off. I think it has to do with the fact that it need to be constant communication with the server to work, including stuff like motion detection. Personally I don’t have poor equipment, I would say I have an about average router, and it is quite close to the nanit, other than adding an extender or buy another router (which may or may not work) the team advised there’s not much else I can do. Nanit’s requirement for wireless signal is much higher than all over smart devices I have at home including computers, phones, tablets, smart lights, smart locks, and so on.
Great and clear audio and video. Night vision is much better than any baby cam we have used. The ability for multiple users to view at the same time is a huge plus. Even better feature is that if your internet goes out, you can still view the video while you are on your home Wi-Fi network.
I've really enjoyed using this monitor! The camera is super clear, and I like that I can see everything from above the crib. It was really easy to hook up, it was just 3 screws, also the design is really nice. I'm trying out the sleep tracking service they offer and it's pretty cool to see my daughter's night in a nutshell! Every morning I see how many times she woke up and how long she slept. It's pretty interesting and I learned alot from it! Totally recommend Nanit, I haven't seen anything else like it! It’s not only a monitor, it gives you a bigger picture of your baby sleep habits.
Best Baby Monitor ever! - We started with a supposedly good $600NZD monitor - The Nanit, however, does a much better job and camera placement being central is life changing as a parent when checking the monitor. Love it & highly recommend this to anyone who wants the best baby monitor experience!
