It made me nervous to make such a large purchase on-line. But I could not pass up the great savings on a double oven I have done a great amount of research on. We installed it ourselves (need some electrical know-how), turned it on, and have made some great meals. The experience was perfect, and we saved close to $1,000 from big box retail/furniture stores.
It is heavy, and very awkward to move around. We were able to check for dents and dings and found a small one on the side; which we would never see, so we accepted delivery. There were no other cracks, dings, scratches, etc. It came with all parts and pieces, and was easy to register with GE. The picture shows it installed in a cabinet we designed for it based on its install guide we found on-line and you can see if fit perfectly.
We went through the setup instructions. Not fully intuitive but if you stick to the guide it is easy to navigate and calibrate. Having convection on both halves was very important for us, and it has paid off with evenly cooked meals actually cooked within suggested times! We have made pizza, baked potatoes, banana bread, roasted ham, roasted potatoes, chicken nuggets, french fries, and bacon. It has cooked wonderfully compared to a Whirlpool Gold model we used to struggle with. We are at about 2,500 feet elevation, in a very dry climate.
As promised. Came to driveway, set on ground by electric tailgate, two men brought into house on an appliance dolly. I wired the electric with breaker off and it's amazing. Replaced Profile with CAFE and now have TWO probe convection ovens. Not a defect, scratch or feature that is not functioning.. My wife's comment to me was was, "Thank you honey for starting the fire that ruined the old ovens."
I love my oven! It's so beautiful and the glide racks are amazing. I usually don't use both my ovens unless it's during the holidays so normally I have both the glide racks in the top oven and all the normal racks in the lower oven. The original opening to my oven was a little smaller than this unit but I was able to saw a few inches off the bottom of the opening to accommodate the size and you can't even tell at all. Other than that small hiccup, installation was simple. Eventually I will be replacing all my appliances with the GE Cafe line.
