For anyone in the market, I am really impressed with this system. The camera picture quality is impressive, I even put my cameras on the lowest resolution and they are still impressive. Installation was a bit of a challenge for me since I did not have my router near the location of the hard drive and could not hard wire the Ethernet connection to my home wifi router. I solved this by buying a $25 wireless access point and used it in client mode to connect my camera system wireless to my router. It works PERFECT.

I now have remote access using the Eviz APP, using my smart phone. The app and the camera software are easy to use and interface on. I am very happy with overall performance. The cameras motion detectors are VERY sensitive (adjustable sensitivity), I am getting "false" notifications from insects flying by the cameras. Still playing with the sensitivity.
I purchased the 4 camera dvr system that is hard wired back to the dvr. The hardest part to install the system is of course the wiring to the cameras, the 60 foot cables are not long enough for my application and I had to purchase 150 ft cables. I was worried that this would degrade the picture quality, however, it did not. I picked up from a previous review that using a coupler to extend the cables would cause lines to show up in the camera image so I did not try that route. You do not want to start running a cable and find out that it is a foot or two short after crawling around in the attic so don't try to skimp on cable length.
I have been very pleased with the system and would recommend buying it if you don't mind putting the time in to figure out how to set everything up. The set up for the dvr is fairly straight forward and gives you options as to how you want to monitor your home. All of my cameras are outdoors and have very clear images for day and night. Everyone that looks at the video is very impressed with the clarity and definition, night video is probably as good as any out there.
I have set the system up to only record when motion is detected on a prescribed schedule, mostly late night and early morning. During the set-up I had to get some help from customer service a couple of times and they were easy to reach and very knowledgeable. For the system to be useful as added security it is important to not have lots of false alerts due to motion, therefore it is important to set up the zones very specific to what you want to protect (i.e. doors, windows, cars in driveway). The set up on my iPhone was easy and works very well so far, I also have it set up on my MAC. Don't hesitate to call the support line if you get stuck, they were very good at walking you through the programming part.
To date I have had no issues with any of the hardware, everything works as it should.
For the money this is a very good system if you are trying to keep your cost down and and have some added home security. I will update this review if anything major changes. For the record, I am not receiving any kind of benefit from writing the review and did a lot of homework before making the purchase.
I have had my system up and running for two weeks now so far I don't have any complaints with the system itself. It has good quality video day and night and is much better than my older system which this is replacing. The only complaint I have is easy viz. does not offer cloud service for this model. When I contacted customer support I was told this model is not supported with the cloud service. The cameras themselves are made of cheap plastic so I am unsure how long they will last but they do have a good picture quality though. The screws that come with the cameras for mounting are trash. After trying a couple times to find a screwdriver that would work with the screws I finally gave up and got some other screws don't waste your time trying to use those screws because they stripped very easily. I had to purchase longer cables because the 60 foot cables don't go very far. It would be nice if they included one100 foot cable and one150 foot cable for longer reach. Overall I am very happy with this purchase for the price I don't think you'll find a better system
Update 8/14/17 -
After using this system for several weeks now I can say that I am very happy with it. I have not had any problems with the app. It connects every time I try and I am able to access the recorded video and the live feed with no problems. The video is very clear day and night. The system it self is very easy to get up and running. I set all my cameras to record only on motion and it has worked great. Since buying this unit I have also purchased a 2nd surveillance system for my detached garage. Unfortunately I purchased a Zosi dvr because I thought it would be a cheaper way to go for my garage. I was wrong. Take a look at my review if you are considering the Zosi system. Save your self some money and the pain and agony that goes with that system. Buy the EZVIZ system. I am 100% happy with the EZVIZ system. I plan to buy a 2nd system when I can afford it to replace the Zosi system I bought. I am changing my review from 4 stars to 5 now that I have had a chance to compare it to another system.
My neighbor purchased these cameras. He had them up and running in a few hours. All wires tied down nicely, great video. He showed me a few things that had happened during on evening and I was sold, and bought my own set.
This is a great unit. Very simple to install, very clear pictures. The motion detection is awesome.
I have worked with higher end business systems in the bast, like a Bosch. This unit has the same features and for a home the same quality.
It has a desktop application I load up on my work computer and monitor my house while away. The mobile application is great, works flawlessly.
When the motion detection is activated, I receive a notification on my phone of movement within 1/2 second (given I am in cell service). The playback and capture features are fantastic.
Super simple to setup. Once the camer's were run, it took me about 5 minutes to have the system up and running.
I recommended this to many friends and anyone looking for a home security camera system
I bought this system to upgrade my old Samsung one after it experienced a couple of camera failures. So far, this EZVIZ system blows my old one out of the water! The picture quality is fantastic, the wide angle is superb, the app is pretty great, and it was super easy to setup. I've only had it installed a couple of weeks now but it's pretty great so far! No problems viewing through a browser or mobile app either at home or away.

WOW!!!! Perfectly packed. Shipped faster than estimate. Very easy to hook up and link your phone to the app. I haven't set the alerts because I just want to monitor my house and dogs when I'm away. The picture is so clear that I can see dust near them. I tried several wifi connect cameras and just couldn't get them to sync and I'm semi computer savi. The only downfall with these type of camera systems are the CABLES. I personally am too old to crawl in the attic or crawl spaces so routing the cables may take me a couple of days. If you need pan-tilt-zoom and two way talk....look elsewhere. If you want inexpensive camera monitoring....these are for you. They offer many other packages to fit you needs also. I Love the instant connect to live stream over my phone. I'm going to travel a few miles away now just to check the app out. .......I just checked it from the other side of town and the cameras are as clear as on my TV monitor and the features are easy to access on my phone. A very good buy for my needs.
Just got today and already got 3 of the 4 cameras up (not sure where I want 4th) love it! this is without a doubt is a great buy for the price, Bought an Arlo setup for the wireless function....Junk. Returned and bought the EZVIZ and had it up and going in a couple hours, even had to call Tech about an issue (me not them) and got right to a service rep. So far I am VERY pleased with this setup and after returning the Arlo it saved me almost a $100!
So far after a month of use (as of this writing), I am finding this system to be very top notch for the low cost I paid. I got the 4-camera 3MP unit (thats the ones with the green band). Hind sight is I should have sprung for the 8channel and a couple more cameras... but I had no idea how this would turn out.
Setup was relatively easy, for a device that could be potentially horribly made. I was amazed how quickly it was to get it running across the universe to my ipod touch while away from home even.
I would suggest not doing final wiring for a few weeks after buying, as it takes some moving around to find the best location. Then when you are happy, go with burying cables in walls and run through attics. It may be a bit unsightly for a few weeks seeing cables running across your floors, but its far better to put up that for a bit as you hone in the location before drilling holes and making it more permanent.
There is a few issues, which is why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars:
- When the cameras switch from night to day visions (twice a day usually), it trips the motion alarms no matter how low sense you set it. Kind of annoying to get an alert twice a day on two cameras I had enabled the alarm for.
- When you restart the DVR base unit, it forgets the resolution setting for the hdmi connected monitor. I have a 720p monitor for it, as its small, low power draw, and fits in a closet well on top of the dvr. Sadly though, if the dvr unit ever gets restarted... I can no longer use the monitor. I have to drag in a bigger 1080p monitor, plug it in, login to the admin tool, then change the resolution back down to 720p, then unplug and plug the smaller monitor in. I may end up just buying the smallest lowest power using 1080p hdmi/dvi monitor I can find.
- Signing up for an account, their email server does not like googleapps email services utilizing a custom domain for a destination. Have to use a generic gmail account, or other 'well known' email service to receive the verification codes. Its too much extra security for something that doesn't need to be, as no other company or service I have dealt with, has had issue with googleapps.
I usually don't write many reviews for the hundreds of Amazon products I buy, but thought this would be helpful.
1. The quality of this system is great. Night vision and image quality is suburb. Had a LaView system prior, but was able to re-use the same cables ran to my previous 4 cameras, with different AC adapters. This system is a big step above the LaView. Really happy with the video quality.
2. Motion Detection - After a few days, I am slowly starting to get it dialed in. Daytime is great. Night - it pickes up bugs (I live in Coastal SC), and it will go nuts. I am going to adjust the sensitivity (and also buy a bug zapper) to help with this.
3. Phone app - My wife and I both have the app installed on our iPhones and the notifications are fast. Playback via the app is good, just a little delay. Direct Live Streaming over the phone is a breeze. Also you can zoom on each individual camera without it becoming "pixelated". Really good quality.
Overall I am really happy with this unit. Best advice I can give is to play around with the motion sensors, but we are really happy.
Easy to install. Great picture quality. No problems as of now. Will update if I encounter any in the next couple of days. Settings seem to be well laid out and advanced enough for beginners.
