Pros: This exhaust hood really moves air and reasonably quiet. Has 2 squirrel cage fans and industrial kitchen removable grease catcher grates. Leaps and bounds above the standard 4 blade fan with mesh grease catcher.
Installing was straight forward. Needed a 7-6" reducer, as the existing ductwork was 6". 7 or 8" ductwork would be better but I'm not going to tear walls and ceilings out for a small gain in performance. I only found a 6-8" reducer and cut it down to the right fit.
It is heavy, about 60lbs, so a helper is useful. Also proper anchoring, I found framing studs and used some lag bolts. Also attached to upper cabinet and made supporting gussets for the front corners with plumbers tape. It's not falling down.
Cons: The lights are junk! Absolutely horrendous! I purchased aand replaced with a 6 pack of Hyperselect GU10 LED 5W (40W-50W Equivalent), 2700K (Warm White), 400 lumens https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01N5JZQ5B?psc=1&ref=yo_pop_mb_pd_title . These have a great color, makes the granite and food pop, with true color accuracy. -1 star
Last con is that one or both motors have a slight clicking noise as they turn on, like a fan is not centered, imbalanced or contacting something. Minor annoyance, seems to go away once they are at speed. -0.5 star
Normally, I would wait a little longer before I would give a review. However, Cosmos offer a "free" gift for this review and the only requirement was a short deadline to write this review. To be honest, I can only write about the product so far. I am pretty happy with it. Pros: Compare to my previous top branded Asian-cooking hood, this one is much heavier, close to 60 lbs vs typical 30-ish lbs. Seamless front cover / hood. Sold by Amazon. Wireless emote control & true touch control! Strong blower. Includes back wall mount bracket! Not that noisy.
Con: Heavy, 55lbs-ish., Not great instructions, no installation info, 8" top only exhaust outlet with no converter to my 6" (BYO)
Other thoughts: Lots of various screws with no instruction / info, but my job was easier since I replaced an old hood. While the much heavier weight made the installation difficult, the overall built quality looks very good too. Four speed control, 1-15 min timer with 1 min adjustment, GU-10 LEDs, low operating noise, strong suction are pretty good. Back wall mount is a must for me, and I am glad that they included an additional strong wall mount plate (single screw) .
Can't be the price for the amount of cfm it moves. The instruction manual could be better, but a professional installer or a diy-er who knows what they are doing should be able to figure it out. Buyers should make sure the that this unit is equipped with an 8' diameter duct. You really need this large size to move this amount of air. My house had an existing 6" duct that I had to climb up into the attic and change to 8". The lights could be brighter, but this is an awesome value buy! This thing has lots of suction power!!!
This a great value for the money. This hood is built and constructed very well. It has great suction and is very quiet as compared to our old GE Microwave combo. It needs 2 people to install just because of its bulk and weight and there was no template so I made may own. Also wear gloves - inside edges are very sharp.
Cons: The manual could be better written. Only self-anchoring screws provided, no nuts & bolts for mounting to overhead cabinet. LED lights are not very bright.
Pros: The unit looks great, has a digital clock, gas sensor, 3 speeds & a remote and so far performs great - wife loves it.
I would give 5 stars if the lights were brighter. Otherwise it's a great hood for the price. Recommended!
Replaced the range hood bought from Golden vantage after 4 years of working and then the control touch panel screwed up. Called the support they said the model no longer support and no part to replace :(. Just bought this Cosmo which has the same power and dimension. It works good and sucks smoke really good. Only the round exhaust is kind of short when put it through the hole in the cabinet. Therefore it made the connections with the extension hose harder. Hopefully, it will last long and have good support and warranty.

The fans (squirrel cage blowers) move a considerable amount of air.
It has 4 speeds, not 3 like the description currently says. Which is a nice bonus.
The LED lights are quite ridiculous and dim. They look more like blue aquarium lights.
They will definitely need replacing. I am not sure how high of a wattage those housings can handle but something MUST improve there.
We installed it yesterday.
Pro: it is beautiful and about 1/3 the price of one at the hardware store. We had to cut the vent hole larger. We used 1 inch metal spacer we bought at Lowe’s for $2.38 each. It didn’t fit flush with the wood. Sucks a lot of air. We made a template out of Christmas paper.
Con: the vent hole has flaps the prevent any creatures from sneaking in, but on level 4 the flaps vibrate and make a horrible noise. We put padding on them and it didn’t stop the noise. We removed the flaps easily.
I purchased this product after reading thru the reviews. It looks pretty good after hectic installation. The plates for the duct did not fit properly but had to adjust with steel plates. The fan is very powerful and the lights are very pleasant. So far I am satisfied with the product
The hood looks great, appears to be made out of quality materials, and runs well. The installation instructions are not very good, but it's not terribly difficult to figure out how to install it just by looking at the hood. So far it does a good job of pulling cooking odor out of the kitchen, but it is a little noisier than expected. The noise level is acceptable to me for the amount of airflow and price.
The only major issue so far is that the plastic damper flaps do have a terrible connection inside the top of the vent, as mentioned by others. I had to modify mine slightly to get them to stay in place, otherwise they would come out of the mounting holes and rattle incessantly while the fan runs.
